Faction Sundering Dawn - Shores of Bestine

Now, that was the third time that her ship came out of hyperspace early. Looking at the modified N-1s controls, she shook her head. What was going on. Biting her lip, she leaned back into the seat and read the texts that were translated from Mack’s particular binary language. Dani shook her head. “I know buddy, the course was laid in right. I saw it all three times, its good.” She knew this course, it was simple, a two system jump for the race.

What she didn’t know was why she couldn’t even come up with a work around. As a racer, she needed to think beyond the track, and normally? It was a skill she had. The best local star charts her station could buy, after all. Was it a Force thing? Or just a reading the track? She didn’t know.

That was why she was returning back to Naboo. That happened, what, a few days ago?

The Naboo had dispatched a navigator team out to the track, and they were mapping… Or trying to. One navigator, a second, and a member of Shiraya. And that third one? A whole lot of nightmares. Or psychosis.

Dani had received a call, through her channel as being the one who reported the disturbance, and because, well, she was technically in the Order, but never showed up for anything and they were hoping for fodder, she assumed. It was why she was here… Actually taking the second option.

The meeting was brief. Hyperspace around Naboo and the Royal Republic’s suburbs was degrading? It was causing issues on even the most simple of lane. But things the Shiraya that was dispatched did point to a small epicenter, an island of Bestine, but the star charts? They were all sorts of karked, and the team was loaded up to a ship that was flying by droid navigator to make sure nothing went wrong.

Water world. Of course it was, but the islands were the goal. And Dani was being lead from the ship with the rest. As she felt the air from the planet, there was a cold, almost ghostly undertone in the air. She reached for the Force, something she didn’t do as naturally as others, but even she could tell it was wrong…

Time away from the bigger issues of the Republic was bittersweet.

While she was feeling more like herself rather than a ticking thermal detonator, she felt she was betraying the purpose of her being there. She was supposed to be the battlemaster, and here she was with orders to not fight. Rather than focus on her failings, she had decided to at least do something proactive. Strange occurrences had been piling on within the Republic that had yet to be fully sorted. But even she felt something that was overwhelming. A great many that felt disturbed. Confused. Worried. A feeling that wasn't clear until she picked up a report directly and read.

Something in her demanded to respond.

And she had.

The Zipper dropped out of hyperspace at seemingly random times. The anger coming easily as her fingers danced across different controls to continue testing the anomaly. Always ending in the same result and making her doubt it could be called an anomaly until frustration made her wrap both hands beneath her arms in defeat. Until she calmed, stopped trying to make the tech work, and instead allowed herself to be guided without the fancy gadgets.

Appearing over a world that wasn't where it was supposed to be judging by the internal database of her starfighter. Staring out of the viewport to the planet that was most definitely out of place as she watched a slight trail form across her scanners. Headed for the planet as she had the targeting system track it, and providing a prediction of the landing sight as she continued to stare.

"Well this all is properly karked up." Still locked in the sense of awe at seeing a whole planet out of place.

Lost without a paddle

Location: Aboard the DSD-Vault (Relliks smaller personal flag ship.) Above the planet Gree

Rellik maneuvered between the command deck impatiently. His captain was working tirelessly to get the navigation squared away. Yet with recent reports it seemed many of the smaller and surprisingly - even the larger hyperlanes now had irregular coordinates or were missing completely. The Diarch knew they were not to blame but he had a meeting to attend on Muunilist involving the lower export rates due to this very same issue. The bankers of the planet were not pleased.

His litigation droid Onyx chirped up behind him with his deep yet somehow mocking voice. - :Sir, I suggest not risking the direct jump through hyperspace and simply transferring to Bastion and than to Muunilist.:

Rellik was no prude and he asked his captain about the validity of the request. To which he was informed that either would take some time and that they were nearing the correct coordinates now. - Fair enough - he thought to himself. "Continue as planned than."

As several excruciatingly long minutes passed he would simply pace back and forth amongst the bridge. That was until he realized it was doing nothing but stressing his men. At which point he decided to look over the holomap until they were ready to launch.

With the relieving voice of his captain saying they were ready Rellik would poise himself for take off. Finally

The journey through light space was lasting quite long. To long.

"Captain" he said calmly. Followed by a prompt: YES SIR; from his subordinate.

"Doesn't something, seeeeeeem off about this?"

As if in chorus as an entire crew everyone spoke up. Not simply the captain with a resounding.

YES SIR.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THRRRRROOOOOM

With an abrupt stop the DSD-Vault now laid above a planet that looked similar in lush greenery and oceans to Muunilist but it did not have the towering structures that the planet was known for. With a simple gaze out of the viewport facing the planet he could tell quickly they were not where they were supposed to be.

"Status report, where in the galaxy are we right now?!"

Sensors blared and staff members rushed into action as all hands got into position for defense, scanning, and diagnostic checks.

The captain of the ship came up shaking to Rellik. Something he had never seen before. He was a brave soldier and had never truly been chastised in anyway. They were friends and fellow warriors but this time something was different.

Captain: "Sir, it appears we are over Bestine IV"

The weight of the situation dawned on him. They were in the heart of the Royal Naboo Republic. This could be seen as an act of aggression. This could lead to galactic war on a scale the Diarchy had only seen in small bursts!

"Captain disable all guns, transfer all power to navigation, shields and thrusters. Do everything you can to set us up on course to leave this sector immediately and take us home. I want a broadcast put out NOW. Record my words and send it out from my mouth directly."

A small handheld recorder was raised up, with the Diarch swiping it into his hands.

"Dear Royal Naboo Republic and any associates. This is Diarch Rellik. I wish to relay that my appearance within your sector is an error due to the hyperlane issues I am sure we have all been receiving. Even with our best calculations, we have mistakenly entered your space. Our weapons systems are deactivate and we wish to leave as soon as we can and we apologize for any fear, concerns, or issues caused by this blunder. - As a show of condolences I wish to offer my personal aid in helping resolve the reason as to why I was brought to this place. Please feel free to contact. We will not be moving until this issue is resolved as a show of peaceful intent. We are here, we come in peace."

The message was relayed to all open channels and sent out as a radio frequency that would surely be picked up at the very least by nearby Naboo.

There was almost too much going on at the moment. Dani was not used to this level of… involvedness? She was the type to help people, sure, but she did it from the comfort of her own decisions and organizations. The blonde was set down on Bestine with the others and pulled the strap of her bag closer, and away from her front. Just making sure it was all there, her capture, her datapad, her kyber crystal.

“So that was really odd, wasn’t it, Mack?” Dani asked her droid, that accompanied her and the other team. The droid and another member both agreed with her. She grabbed her still-capture and looked around. She was going to have to log this trip as well as she could.

The leader of the expedition, a Jedi Master type, looked around as a comm link came through. The Naboo Master nodded. “We read you Diarch. Not the first to be going through the ringer on this hyperspace… anomaly. We’d welcome the help. Can you receive our location?” They all had lightsabers, and would use them, but only as a last resort.

"I'm tellin' ya, Cutey, I know exactly where I'm going." The bright, pink Zeltron exclaimed in good cheer, which was about as surprising as waking up in the morning. Cali always expressed the utmost confidence in everything she did. Even when things went wrong. Especially when they went wrong. So the droids aboard her ship, the G.C.S. Couverture, knew when Cali was unexpectedly optimistic about nothing to expect the worst.

The QT-series droids were intelligent, capable, and even fierce if the situation called for it. Despite the things Cali landed herself in almost as if drawn to trouble, the Zeltron was an accomplished inventor and mechanic. So the fact she managed to build mostly normal droids that helped her focus wasn't impossible. After all, one only had to see their designations to know Cali was definitely involved in their creation.

QT-314, or Cutey Pie, was her Number One. She knew how to read the Zeltron like a star chart. A knack that often got the Pink One out of as much trouble as she'd gotten herself into.

Suddenly Cali's eyes dropped to a console. "That's not supposed to do that," she managed to say before the hyperdrive engines abruptly went offline and threw the ship back into normal space. A drawn out squeal of surprise ensued as she slammed on the controls to pitch the ship. Whether it made much of a difference in the split second was anyone's guess. All Cali knew was there was a giant something up ahead as they decelerated and it looked like they were about to go squish!

"Cali, I believe that was a Star Destroyer."

Her pink wreathed head turned to stare at Cutey with wide, unblinking eyes. "Yep." Almost plowed into the broadside of a Star Destroy at relativistic speeds in that quaint space between Hyper and Not-so-Hyper space. They'd sailed right over the other ship and wasn't exactly trying to slam on the brakes just yet. "You think they noticed?"

Yeah, they probably noticed.

0NNDK7K.png

The crew stood at their stations, hands hovering over consoles, glances flicking toward the central command deck where Diarch Rellik stood motionless. Not a single weapon system hummed.

Rellik's gaze never left the viewport. Bestine IV - wrong place, wrong time, its oceanic surface reflecting a calm that none aboard the Destroyer could share. "Any response?" he asked, voice low, carefully neutral.

A smaller crew member, who seemed relatively afraid perked up through the crowd on the command deck. "A reply has come from the surface of Bestine Sir."

"We read you Diarch. Not the first to be going through the ringer on this hyperspace… anomaly. We'd welcome the help. Can you receive our location?"

Rellik was beyond happy. Dealing with the "Light side" was always less of a hassle than those within the Sith order or Mando'a space. Looking towards the trooper the Diarch gave a non-professional and rather silly; thumb up and a smile. Whispering he said "Good work son" before replying to the communication.

"This is Diarch Rellik, responding to the gracious reception. My team is working on locking unto the communications location but we can tell it is coming from Bestine's surface. I vow to come un-armed; I will be boarding my personal shuttle and coming down shortly alone. I am quite excited to work together my dear." - The Diarch typically sounded much older than his age. Perhaps it was the trials he had to go through. His words "My dear" were akin to a grand father talking to his family.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And so the Diarch left to his shuttle with his droid Onyx in tow. As he made his way - communications came through that shook him a little bit.
A new ship had SWERVED through hyperspace and peeled away from crashing into them at the last moment.

With a jolt as if he was jump scared he received comm's that relayed what had happened and through his litigation droid Onyx, he replied a response to the crew aboard.

"To the pilot or commander of the ship that almost veered directly into us. This is Diarch Rellik. Since you have not opened fire, I assume you were thrown here under the same malfunctions we were." There was a slight pause that held a little chuckle through his otherwise serene voice. "I understand this detour was as unexpected for you as it was for us. Please don't be alarmed. You're among friends. No weapons are trained on you, no threats will come from my ship, There is no need for alarms or evasive action. I assure you"

His tone was polite and happy. Rellik was a sheltered youth and was genuinely excited to meet more of the galaxy.

"We are all gathering on the surface below it seems. If you're not in a hurry to outrun whatever cosmic mess spat us all here, come join us. There's something strange about this place, and I'd much rather face the unknown with new friends than alone."

The younger brother of the Diarchs was a kind, happy, and welcoming man. Where Reign was the fist - he was the open arm. Always seeking negotiations, appeasement and talking over war.

"Coordinates are attached. I hope you'll accept this as a formal invitation and an informal offer of camaraderie."

Rellik made his way to his shuttle, un-armed, un-accompanied by guards, and with a smile on his face - only carrying a small amount of medical supplies (medpacks and stims) on his belt. His beige colored tunic fashioned him to those un-aware of who he was as more of a Jedi than a Sith. He even left his Cloak - behind. In case it gave off a dark aura.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His shuttle landed at the coordinates with a sharp HISS as the ramp lowered. The Diarch appeared between the smoke and fumes of the shuttles hydraulics.

Cali blinked when someone started broadcasting in her direction. "Did you hear that, Cutie? I'm a Commander. Wait," the pink mane of hair flopped to one side as her head tilted, "shouldn't he call me Captain?"

"Not all militaries use the same ranks, Cali."

A thoughtful issuance followed QT-314's observation. She was right. Maybe the Diarchy held Commander to be a higher rank. Or maybe Commander was being used in some sort of general capacity referring to the commanding officer of the vessel. Yeah that was-- Oh, she should be listening to what they were saying.

"Malfunctions?" That reminded her. Cali's fingers danced over the controls to pull up the strange reading she noticed in the systems just before they'd popped back into normal space.

Only moments later her bright eyes popped back up. "Hm, what?" Alarmed. No weapons. No threats. Why should she be using evasive maneuvers? They weren't in any danger. Oh, right, the near miss... yeah, but they weren't locking weapons or using a tractor beam, so why worry? The Pink One's attitude had changed just that quickly from concern to innocence and warmth as if nothing had happened at all. And with so much to think about and do, there just wasn't time to remember negative things.

A hum followed as her eyes had fallen back to the readings on her display. Cali absently reached over to toggle on the transmitter, "This is Cali Ziiva of the Couverture," a solid enough start, "I'm totally glad to meet you. Even better to meet you face-to-face. We should talk all about the, uh, strangeness. Probably not a good idea to enter hyperspace right now, actually." She'd never seen readings like these before. Thing was, her ship wasn't exactly a deep space science research station either. There was probably a lot more data that could have been collected with a more sensitive sensor array active at the time of the incident.

Oh, maybe she should build one.

"I'll see you there," she added merrily. Formalities were not her strong suit. Well, they weren't her weak spot either, but Cali totally relied on everyone's stereotypes regarding Zeltrons. Everyone knew they were eccentric. Cali was by far no exception.

QT-314 would have drawn in and held a deep breath if breathing were in any way necessary for a droid. Well, the Diarch sounded friendly enough so they probably wouldn't take a more... casual interaction poorly.

Cali stood up and spun around to look at Cutey Pie, "I'm gonna go meet him down below. Can you start construction on the new sensor array? I think we'll need it." Her ship wasn't a deep space science vessel... yet. It was, on the other hand, well furnished to constructing all manner of things. With that, the bubbly Commander skipped off down the hall with a big grin in search of her freighter.

QT-B00 piloted the ship down through atmosphere to the coordinates provided. Meanwhile, Cali rummaged through the things stored aboard the freighter. A small backpack was set off to the side with a few small things shoved into it. Best to be prepared! Not for a fight, of course, but for an exchange.

Once the ship touched down, Cali left Boo behind to watch over things. Time to meet some new friends. Maybe some new customers. Maybe some people in need of a good party! Who knew?

The fact that the galaxy was becoming such a wild place again made Dani feel like there were some things that could go right, but so many things that could go wrong. With the other Jedi of the Shiraya Order, the racer was feeling a bit safe, but definitely excited. Excited as she needed to get back out there and update Mack. And honestly, get out there to help the worlds that needed it. She could only think of the supply lines.

Her ship the Pick-Up was used to help others. Maybe in a bit better of a way than the Foundation was doing. Something just for the solution of the people.

“We will see you down here.”
This was from Dani, as the Master she was paired up with had other pressing things on their plate.

As the navigation above was going on, Dani and her droid were looking out at the nav beacons in the area, trying to figure out just what beacons were here. As the first ship landed, Dani smiled. Dark pants, gray top, and a few bracelets from her travels. Her camera was around her neck and she gave a small little wave.

The shuttle's boarding ramp hissed open with a gentle exhale of steam, and a soft thud followed as polished boots met the sand-speckled surface of Bestine. Rellik emerged alone with no weapon at his side and a smile on his face.

The Diarch, towering in titles but modest in character, looked up with wonder in his sand yellow eyes as he took in the sunlit landing field and the small group awaiting him.

His expression lit up the way children do when seeing snow for the first time.

"Ooooh… this place smells like mystery and sunburns." he said, squinting toward Dani and the others, clearly amused and rubbing his bald head. Already wishing he had brought at least a pouch with some sun protection.

Stepping down the ramp with a spring in his step, he waved back towards Dani Stellaris Dani Stellaris . He made his way over - in a calm fashion and introduced himself.

"I am Diarch Rellik, at your service dear." He gave a deep bow in another show of kindness. "Thank you for being so nice. There are a lot of misconstrued rumors about myself. It is nice to meet someone who just takes me as I am."

Cali half-jogged, half-bounced across the landscape with a hovering bench following close behind. She was wearing her pink encounter suit, but left the cat/fox-eared helmet on the bench so her pink, button-nosed face could be clearly seen. As she drew near the gathering, her hand was thrust into the air with an exuberant wave -- as though her approach could possibly go unnoticed.

"Heya!" Cali came to a sudden stop with a big grin. "Nice to meet both of you. I'm Cali. Either of you need a drink?" She'd brought a few drinks on the platform that'd come to a stop behind her. Very few were alcoholic. Not that she frowned on drinking, but getting sloshed was totally not helpful under the circumstances; but a glass or two wouldn't hurt.

"Glad we all made it down without trouble, but I guess the problem being mostly at faster-than-light velocities helps with that." She turned around to grab a datapad from the workbench and began poking at it with her fingers. Bright eyes slid over the readouts without further elaboration or comment as if everyone was already on the same page. Though which page Cali was on was evolving every second. Slowly, but even 'that is not it' was progress in the world of science! There was no such thing as failure! Unless you gave up. So never give up! Never surr-- wait, that was from a holovid.

Dani laughed for a moment. She was not expecting the person to actually be the Diarch. And based on the looks she was getting from the others on her team? Not a one of them thought it either. But as the man approached, the racer of House Sato just smiled. She was a friendly person, but she was not one to take threats or be attacked without recourse.

“There is no reason to thank us. We’re all in this together… If your systems are being affected the same way ours is?”
Dani wasn’t quite sure exactly what was going on, just that she was the one who really found the anomaly and caused a team to get dispatched.

“Where were you traveling from?”
She then turned to the pink one too. “Same with you. Get caught up in the navigation situation?”

The Master that was with her merely looked on and nodded. Apparently Dani was doing alright.

Typically Rellik would stand with his hands clasped behind his back in the fashion of nobility or governance. Yet, in an effort to be conciliatory or appear open, he put his hands on his hips and relatively relaxed posture. - He was admittedly slightly uncomfortable dealing with the unit but his job was not to judge based on notions. It was to see people for who they were with his own eyes. No matter, home, order, religion or anything else.

"I was coming from the Braxant run, where my home is on the planet Bastion. The sector has not had many disappearing planets but they have shifted locations. Its really our hyperlanes that are completely out of control. It hurts me to see my people suffering but our Chancellorate has done a good job bringing everyone together. We have almost everyone working towards a solution... Being sent this far south though is something else entirely."

There was a slight bit of surprise once he met Cali. It dawned on him that she was an energetic Zeltron and he was honestly happy to have a more jovial presence with them. With a closed eyed - wide smile Rellik excitedly replied.

"Nice to meet you, I am Diarch Rellik. I love the suit! It is fantastic; I wish I had brought something to offer myself. I just did not want to make anyone anxious. I would love a drink. Thank you very much."

He waited a moment to see if the custom was to take one or be given one before reaching out on his own. In the meantime he looked back towards the group of researchers that Dani was a part of.

"I do not have much for researching material aboard my ship but I offer my own mind. Anything I can sense out through the force through mediation or through naturally scientific study - I will do my best find. In the Diarchy we believe in shared information and trust. You will learn anything I find, you have my word. At your behest, I am ready to begin whenever you all are. Is there any locations we believe to be giving off uncommon readings or aura's? If not I will meditate here and see if I can feel anything off on the planet."

Rellik stood calmly. The bright mind of an adventurous scientist eagerly awaiting confirmation to begin. - He was very cautious to do anything that might upset the RNR itself, or any of the people in the party.

Dani Stellaris Dani Stellaris Cali Ziiva Cali Ziiva Lossa Aureus Lossa Aureus

Cali smiled with wide, bright eyes as the Diarch accepted a drink. He was even cultured enough to appreciate her suit! So thoughtful. Usually people of some authority were all gruff and stoic and boring. Rellik sounded like someone that could let loose and not worry about image. And he even accepted her offer. Now that was a polite, powerful person -- bet if he visited Zeltros all the cute boys and girls would totally talk favorably about him after he'd returned to space.

The Zeltron quickly stowed her pad and turned around to produce a glass and pour a subtly flavored, refreshing, and stimulating glass full. Despite being out in the middle of no where, she was quite practiced with pouring drinks. Even garnished with a little umbrella. Everyone loved little umbrellas. You got to pop them open and closed after you finished your drink -- all kinds of entertaining. Freshly made, Cali turned around and held the glass out for the Diarch with another smile spread across her face.

She turned to look at Dani next. "Navigation situation?" Cali hummed for a second. "Yeah, I guess so. There I was flying along when my navigational computer started beeping angrily at me. Then suddenly woah! there was a Star Destroyer, like, out of nowhere. Well, somewhere obviously, and now I was there too and way too close. Can't say my ship's sensors really understood what happened."

Rellik put forward his own thoughts about how he could contribute. Kind of thoughtful of him. Well, also kind of necessary given the whole desire to get home, but not knowing how or where they could with appearing far, far, far away from where the navicomputer had said they should be. It was in everyone's interests to get along and figure out what was happening.

"Mm! Before I came down, I told Cutey," perhaps they heard Q.T., both pronunciations being correct (the latter literal), "to begin construction of a new sensor array. Maybe I couldn't detect something before, but then I didn't need to before either. Do you already have something built to study the phenomena?" Cali's gaze was with Dani, curious what the people milling about had already figured out or had the means to figure out.

Honestly, the self doubt was kicking in for Dani, she wasn’t quite sure she be the one here. The blonde was more a spoiled wannabe helper and not truly a ranked member of the Order of Shiraya. But she was a decent pilot and navigator, and bringer of aid. It was why she liked to know where people were from.

Part of it may be her upbringing, the outsider in House Sato, taking more after her father as a wanderlust and adrenaline junkie. But since she became of age, she did try to find herself in the Naboo society.

Speaking of shifting places, Dani nodded. “I was practicing for a starfighter race. And things… shifted. I reported it and we dispatched this team.” She waved to the others as she spoke to the Diarch. “I’m not sure of much on the larger aspect of it all.”

That was a clear and obvious.

“Already constructing? Your ship that big?”
The blonde mused. “We were dispatched but ended up here, so we’re trying to see if we can’t get our bearings. And… I don’t know if any of you have had the nightmares?”

With both hands out Rellik accepted the drink from Cali. Taking a sip before grabbing the umbrella, giving it a flick to knock the liquid off, and than tucking the umbrella like a pencil on the top of his ear. The drink itself was almost as energetic as the woman who poured it. Giving the man a calming moment of refreshment.

"Thank you dear. It is wonderful."

His ears perked up at the fascinating prospect that the ship was already building a new sensor array. One day he would love to see it in action.

Than there was Dani, apparently a racer. Maybe one day Rellik would have to see her in action. He always tried to make it to the races but things seemed to always be so busy and hectic.

At the mention of nightmares he perked up speaking to the group.

"I myself have had one of the nightmares. Large pieces of metal that appeared to be worn down from time were rotating in ominous silence. The dream or perhaps vision left me with a heavy feeling in the force."

Pausing for a moment he sat and thought. Taking a sip of his drink as he did.

"Perhaps if we are looking for a place to start, I can begin meditating here and search to see if I feel that similar aura again. Maybe giving us a clue as to where we could look."
