But seriously, I have an idea and I’d like your opinions. When I used to be an avid WoW RPer, I initiated a weekly RP challenge with the intent of bring some fun, creative role-playing to a time when so many of us were busy with school, work, life, so many things that we ultimately needed something fun and fluffy to decompress. So, I was considering bringing something similar here if anyone was interested.
It’s simple, while not weekly, every couple of weeks, a thread would be posted that would be non-canon. Each thread would have a different set-up or situation to respond to. Since it is non-canon, bring out the fun! I have a few ideas/examples I’ll outline below, but ultimately, I would just like to give us an outlet to RP our characters in situations they would never otherwise be in. Just let our creativity loose and enjoy writing with each other for no other purpose than to write.
Would you be interested? Would you participate? Everyone would be more than welcome to bring any of their characters, not just the First Order ones. I’d also love if other people came up with situations/stories of their own and wanted to spear-head their own “Non-Canon RP Challenge”.
So, a few ideas.
The first is one I’m stealing from my WoW RP challenge: Disney World.
Now, hear me out. Imagine, if you will, our characters lost in deep space, flying through a worm hole only to find themselves trapped in a mini-van in the parking lot of Magic Kingdom. Now human and trapped in our real world environment, how would your character react? What would [member="Kyrel Ren"] do if he saw Vader up on that stage fighting “Jedi Padawans” at Hollywood Studios? How would everyone react to Ara having a few too many drinks and flashing the camera at the end of Space Mountain? What would [member="Samka Derith"] do if she ended up trapped on It’s a Small World?
Grab your Mickey Ears and your fake lightsabers, we’re going to Disney World!
The second: Let’s do the Time Warp Again.
Imagine if you will, the field of battle. The Ren holding back the tides of Jedi forces with plasmatic blades flashing. The Navy far above fending off wave after wave of enemy fire, ships casting dark shadows to those who fight below. The Stormtroopers opening fire against the approaching tanks and enemy walker, white-armour gleaming in the light of blaster fire.
Time warp.
Suddenly, the lightsabers are sticks, clashing against each other as children giggle and scream. [member="Carlyle Rausgeber"] running around the gathered children with arms held out making flight noises at the top of his lungs. [member="Natasi Fortan"] and [member="Dante Calgar"] watching with arms crossed while everyone refuses to abide by the rules of engagement on the playground. [member="Mishel Zanteres"] running from one scene to another, jumping in mid-story, causing a ruckus and running off laughing maniacally.
The idea? Our characters are now school children playing pretend at recess.
Do you like these? Do you like the idea but not the examples? Do you have ideas of your own?
The entire goal would be to inspire some fun, light-hearted, non-cannon RP just for the sake of enjoying each other’s company and writing. To not take ourselves too seriously and have some fun. There’s no post limit, no goal, other to enjoy the challenge.
