Following the loss of the Galactic Core by the Alliance during the Great Galactic War, a group of scientists and their Sith masters began what would come to be known as Project SHIPBREAKER on the world of Byss. Utilising genetic codes taken from [REDACTED] by covert operatives, the goal of Project SHIPBREAKER was to clone [REDACTED], replicating their force-sensitive capabilities preferably en masse as a mass-produced weapon of the Sith to be used against the Alliance-in-Exile. The project was plagued by numerous issues and failures, and in time, despite a slow but steady progress, it would be mothballed for other projects.

Even following the return of the Galactic Alliance to the core, Project SHIPBREAKER remained in a dormant state. A brief period of study was undertaken by a research group within the Strategic Intelligence Agency, and though there was no attempt within the Alliance to re-commence the project, files on SHIPBREAKER were maintained, though highly redacted and held in strictest confidence of only those with a need-to-know.

In time, however, the Alliance would lose its grip on the core once again, and the Empire that seized control was granted an opportunity to benefit from work that had been laid before them and left unfinished. When Imperial researchers arrived on Byss and discovered records of Operation SHIPBREAKER, it was initially considered for termination, however the project drew interest from agents of the Emperor, and thus it was instead re-activated. In short order, under the guidance of the Imperial Military's Research Division, Project SHIPBREAKER began to see fruition, though its first number of clones were deemed too limited in their capabilities, and were terminated.

Eventually, Subject 1503 was deemed to be a success for the project. Upon the subject's activation, the cloning facility on Byss that housed the project was rapidly destabilised, and destroyed by the Subject's force powers, imbued with an intense fear and anger. It was due to such a display that the project was deemed to have succeeded, and Subject 1503 was brought before the Emperor to be named as one of the Dark Side Elite.

To most within the Empire, the identity of Subject 1503's genetic code is completely unknown, and among those who know the identity, there are few who seem to note much significance from it. Despite this, there is no true identity that has been granted to the subject, save a moniker that has made its way among the ranks of those who have dealt with this agent of the Emperor - 'Ashwalker'.
