Let me preface this with that I did manage to get the unneeded sub-account deleted, however I just wanted to share the error message I received in the process in case it's the sign of a larger issue.
Not sure what caused this or if it's anything to be concerned about, as I did get done what I needed, but just for your situational awareness.
