Prologue
Born into the esteemed Stybla Family as a "Blood", Lareina was destined to lead a life of luxury, wealth, and power as a high-ranking child of one of the 40 Great Families. However, her family ingrained in her from a young age that the well-being of the Chiss Ascendancy was of utmost importance. They emphasized that the Stybla Family's purpose was to safeguard the Ascendancy against any threats, be it external or internal. With this in mind, Lareina was prepared to serve as an intelligence officer in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force (CEDF).
During her term in the CEDF, Lareina quickly earned a reputation for her unrelenting determination and ruthlessness in defending the Ascendancy and its people. Her unwavering commitment to her cause garnered respect and admiration from her peers and superiors alike. Upon completing her service with the CEDF, Lareina transitioned to serving her family directly. Although officially an assistant in the Patriarch's office, she effectively functioned as the Patriarch's personal agent. Her responsibilities included gathering intelligence on the other Families, as well as monitoring any potential threats from surrounding powers. During this period, Lareina played a key role in a contingency plan involving the reorganization of the Universal Analysis Group (UAG). In recognition of her exceptional service to both the CEDF and the Stybla Family, Lareina was appointed as a Section Chief within the newly restructured UAG – spearheading the establishment of an elite intelligence gathering and direct action unit, operating under the codename "GEIST." Her mission is to ensure the continued security of the Chiss Ascendancy by proactively identifying and neutralizing potential threats.
