Strengths:
Where They Be?: The Strix-Class Sail ship is first and foremost a stealth ship. The vessel was designed to be one hundred percent undetectable without requiring the use of a cloaking device. The ship achieves this through a multitude of ways, however primarily it uses the same function as the Kuat Drive Yards Blackbird and the Santhe Corporation Sicarius Class Stealth Yacht. Its components are designed and geared for stealth operations, many of its systems having the capability to go completely dark. This is aided by the Strix-Class' Solar Sail, which allows the vessel to move and operate without its primary engine, allowing it to move with zero electronics, making it virtually undetectable.
Solar Sails: The Strix-Class is unlike many other ships in that it has two propulsion systems. The first is a standard engine as found on many other vessels. This engine however can be switched off in favor of the vessels retractable Solar Sails. The Strix class features two sets of collapsible Solar Sails, or four separate “wings” that act as Sails. These sails function as any other Solar Sails, propelling the ship and working just as those of any other vessels with them. Solar Sails come with obvious benefits, as well as disadvantages, though due to the Ships other mechanisms and primary function the Strix class is capable of using its Solar Sails with more effect. To facilitate its stealth function the Strix-Class has deep black Solar Sails that are nearly transparent. These sails, although massive, were specifically spun to be difficult to see against the background of space. This of course is somewhat telling against the backdrop of a planet or a star, but in ordinary space travels the sails are nearly impossible to see, and like normal solar sails do not show up on sensors.
Weaknesses:
Bruises Easily: Much like the Sicarius, Blackbird, and many other stealth ships the Strix Class is not a formidable fighting vessel. Though the ship obviously has shields, the vessel itself is not designed to stand up to a great amount of damage. This means that unlike other corvettes the Strix class could and should never really be used in a fight. It can stand up to most firepower just long enough to disappear into the deep black abyss of space, and thats about it.
Complex Mechanism: When the Strix class does suffer damage, whether from environmental issue or due to combat it is not an easy ship to repair. The Vessel itself has so many complex parts and systems, including mechanical and electrical that it is all put impossible for the layman to actually conceive, let alone repair. When this ship becomes damaged, critically or otherwise, it nearly always requires a return to the C.E.T.O shipyards for proper repairs.

The Strix-Class Sail Ship was designed to be C.E.T.O's flagship product into the galaxy.
With the companies purchase and rebranding into a brand new corporation they needed something new, special, and never before seen in the galaxy. That something would turn out to be the Strix-Class Sail Ship. This line of vessels was to become the end all be all of Stealth Ships without cloaking devices.
While most cloaked ships used either Stygium or Hidbridium cloaking devices, the idea of a stealth ship with neither of these things was not a novel idea.
In fact this very idea had been fielded successfully by CETO's secret parent company, Kuat Drive Yards. The technology was first tested out in their stealth interceptor, the Blackbird. This same technology was then later used by Santhe in the creation of their Sicarius-Class Stealth Yacht where it proved to be more than effective for what it was constructed. The issue with both of these vessels however was the difficulty in hyperspace travel.
Like most vessels, both the Blackbird and the Sicarius required a hyperdrive to travel to further star systems. This hyperdrive was traceable in more ways than one, as it they were with more traditional cloaking stealth ships.
To Circumvent this CETO turned its head towards a more ancient, and arguable less efficient technology, Solar Sails. Though the idea of Solar Sails were not new, the application of them onto Stealth ships was. The Solar Sails that were attached to the body of the Strix class were designed with the same function as older Solar Sails, save these were made to be a deep matte black to allow for a continuation of the Strix' stated function.
The Solar Sails allow the Strix to maneuver, speed up, and even jump into hyperspace without its primary thrusters. This design function means that the Strix, unlike any other starship, is capable of technically working entirely without electronics. Instead it could possible work on only mechanical functions of its 'wings' and an instinctive navigator. Though this would be difficult, it is entirely possible and makes the Strix one of the most impressive stealth ships in the galaxy, given that the only way to defer it from a random asteroid or piece of space junk at that point would be direct line of sight, which again is difficult due to its paint job.
These functions make the Strix class utterly unique in design and function.
Due to the difficulty in their creation, refinement, and all around function there are not many Strix Class Sail Ships. The first of these vessels was given to Aela Talith for her sixteenth birthday*. Further vessels are being designed and built on Ceto.
