Strawberry Panic (Camellia Swift)

SHRI-TAL GOLAN DEFENSE STATION

Ayumi had been very interested more so because she had been hearing rumors here on the outer rim. The silver jedi were good at getting information while working on helping the people. Building a hospital, several temples, a refuge center, a new prison and the silver cross medical fleet all roaming around. It opened many chances because they didn't have warships, they didn't have capital ships that could fight wars which was... good. They weren't there for battle there were here to work on securing and protecting the people hopefully peacefully.

Though that wasn't always the case as Ayumi walked through the halls, she had spent her time working to make sure it was ready and operational as the rangers and engineers worked to keep it armed, ready, functioning. Well worth the effort in her mind but she wasn't one to brag going towards the office as the scans from the silver jedi's ships appeared. She was meeting with the person behind Rendili and its operations for ships, to see what she coul create for them and what new ideas would be able to come from it.

Camellia already had ideas and designs at hand. The issue was getting the proper funding and development for them. Many of Rendili Stardrive's recent design work had gone to the Republic. Such as the Shield Class Medical Frigate, Warhammer Star Destroyer, and Oberum Class Attack Craft. Yet, none of them spoke of truly magnificent and incredible design work, none had the backing behind them to make them truly great. No one in the Republic was willing to look into it. They were all so complacent and stuck on focusing on their old designs that were failing them now, they ignored their other options and new work.

Rendili was within the Republic's Domain, it needed the Republic to thrive to stay safe, but Camellia wasn't going to ignore the need to prepare a backup plan. Nothing was more important than Rendili's wellbeing to her. As the head of its major shipwright, and an officer in its defense forces, she was going to ensure it was safe. Having worked with the Silver Jedi before Camellia knew she could do business with them, the only problem she was concerned with was how integrated she could get Rendili Stardrive with them.

As she stood around waiting, the young Rendili woman hoped she might be able to work out an arrangement to see Rendili's ships designs have some prominence again.

Ayumi entered the room and looked over the woman, she was not as intimidating as she thought she would be but having been part of the Republic navy and run off she was glad to at least see someone who was working with them. A smile came across her face as she walked forward offering her hand and speaking. "Lady Swift, thank you for coming all this way. I know Rendili and Shri-Tal are not the closest." Her smile remaining while she tilted her head and indicated the seats in the center of the room and table. "Please have a seat, can I get you a drink?" Ayumi always kept a good amount of some of the best whiskey she could get even with how much was going on she had spent her credits for it.

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

"I'm not much for drinking anything inhibiting, but I'll certainly have a water and that seat. And don't worry about anything with Shri-Tal, that isn't part of our business here correct?" Turning away the offer for the drink as she took the woman's hand, Camellia found herself rather pleased with the pleasant welcome. It was definitely nice as a change of pace from the busy work and gloom the Republic was going through. Elections and a failing war effort and lack of resources and organization was taking a toll on every angle and inch of Republic space.

Getting the chance to sit down and have a nice talk about some exciting prospects was a wonderful deviation from the stress lately."Its interesting to note we're on a joint project platform between Kuat, Rendili, and Corellia's shipyards. But we're here to discuss other designs right? What shall our business today be about Lady Pallopides."

Ayumi nodded to that, nothing major but water which was fine. She took the seat and grinned at the thought of the station. It was a marvel it was still functioning after all this time. She had some ideas of how to improve it, well maybe streamline it there were thoughts of monitor stations within silver jedi space using smaller automated stations to send alerts. She liked that idea mostly to detect ships coming and going. Though she had misspoken about one thing... Shri-tal and Rendili she meant travel wise relations they were neutral or unknown at best. An error on her part she would have to work to avoid and correct in the future. "Yes this station is a great place and is one of the designs we wish to go over. Ships, are something the Silver Jedi need to protect this sector of space, they can patrol the sector and the ships have minimal offensive capabilities but six rassilons and six wasp fighters are the strongest gun wise they control. Then there is this station which is built and would be able to handle most of their ships. They need new things, new designs and when the time comes stations. One of the talks was smaller easier to make slaved stations that could be set around silver jedi territory to monitor and act as early warning."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Ah, the station itself then was of some debate? In all honesty Camellia found herself a little more pleased then she ought to have been, but then Rendili hadn't developed stations in a while, even though she considered the Firestar and Derilyn Defense Platforms designs to still be relevant. The Derilyn specifically was quite the terrifying and powerful defense station and dock. Albeit very expensive and tenuous to construct. However, Ayumi was talking about smaller linked stations, so the Firestar Stations would likely be best with their smaller size and more reasonable armaments. As for the call for new starships, Camellia could only smile in response to that news.

After all, ship design was Rendili's strong suit. "Well I recall selling a few enhanced frigates and standard starfighters to the Silver Jedi before. I think though I can provide you with access to much more powerful and efficient designs though as Rendili Stardrive has been working on a powerful cruiser design as of late. We also have other ships already on our manifest we could also incorporate and sell to the Silver Jedi. As for stations we can do some work to consider some options, but I think if something is needed in the meantime then the existing Firestar Orbital Defense Platforms will do the job you need quite nicely."

Ayumi looked at her and she was good, good at business and knew more then enough of her stuff. They was important as Ayumi smirked a little. "Well if I am honest the Silver Jedi are just that.... They are jedi and jedi aren't soldiers. They have the training, they know how to do things but they are not soldiers. They swing blades and use the force, that makes them vastly different, I worked with the Republic and commanded the fleet for a time. Taking it when we moved through the outer rim in the wake of the empires fall trying to help the people on the worlds. Then I watched one of the strongest ships in the galaxy get thrown away which hurt. I really really loved those MC180's. So when it comes to ships you have a standard to live up to and I will give my recommendations. As for stations automated stations linked would be perfect. If they can be done right, we just happen to have been building something very very special on the surface of the planet here." Ayumi was smiling now enjoying it, she trusted the Silver jedi trusted them more then she trusted the Republic in a long time but they weren't ones to fight with fleets and play armies. They could lead they didn't move across the board that was the galaxy. "There are other things Rendili may be asked to help with, your skills can be helpful for some special projects."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

"Mon Cal designs are certainly something indeed, they're all very . . . .unique in their appearance, though they tend to be slower and more bulbous for my taste, but their shield technology is top notch. Even I won't dispute that." The woman in front of Camellia certainly had a great deal of belief in the Order of the Silver Jedi, that much was clear. To be honest though, the Rendili woman herself didn't have much understanding of the force and she didn't care much for its application in the galaxy. Force Users of all sorts made things much more difficult than they had to be, but from her experiences Camellia did have to admit the Silver Jedi were easy enough to work with and could be trusted to generally be honest about what they said and acted upon.

It was a bit of a surprise to hear that Ayumi was a Republic Naval officer at some point, but then Camellia knew she stayed within the Rendili system much, and that she was a bit younger than the woman in front of her. She liked the challenge the Silver Jedi's representative was laying out for her though. "Rendili is home to one of the founding shipwright's I'll have you know. We may be behind in scope compared to Kuat and Corellia nowadays, but we're rebuilding. However, our quality hasn't suffered, we're excellent at what we do. You won't see another company with the system alignment skill we have, and we have many proven designs backing our assurance of excellent craftsmanship. I believe you'll enjoy a design we're pushing to bring into existence. It will be a heavy cruiser class vessel, using our Proton-8 Reactor we're bringing back into production. If you know of the reactor's design and properties I believe you can already understand what it would mean for the ship. The only problem for it really is getting the appropriate funding. Though if we wish to fully utilize the design we would have to work out a few other kinks, mostly because we have a slight space issue and I intend for this ship to be able to act as a large carrier while still dominating its class as a cruiser. I could show you the blueprints perhaps, if we agree to a proposal. So before then I'd like to provide you with a full manifest of our current productions and see if you find our work to be quality enough for us to work together in this venture. Rendili would be more than happy to work with the Silver Jedi and provide their ships, if you think we're good enough of course."

Ayumi kept her grin on her face at that. This woman knew what she had and how to sell it.. The ship that was while she leaned back in the seat a little. Missing the chair she had on Coruscant, a remake of her great great eight under years removed uncles cgair with a high ebony back and wide arms. She loved it while sitting there and crossed one leg delicately. Putting her fingers together while she thought about it for a moment... more pretending to since she had been sold by the conviction more then just saying 'we have good ships' or 'Rendili ships are best ships' like some other companies she had seen done.

Their dangerous in their arrogance when it came to certain things but sitting here and now a small tapping of finger on finger. "Oh I like you, you know your product but more then that you didn't just demand I accept terms or contracts. That is always good a fair amount I have seen merely claim their ships are better and you would be an idiot for not taking them."

The smile remained while Ayumi leaned forward a little locking eyes. "But you oh you had me interested at being honest. I think we can deal, more so I think we can make a great future for Rendili with some of the funding that can come your way. We have untapped resources on this world and there is something special one can play with." She had seen the reactor they built, seen the lab where the illerium was irradiated and used to make some amounts of isotope 5 a great power source. If the right prodding maybe Rendili ships would be able to see smaller applications on ships or walkers.

Now it was Camellia's turn to feel like taking a bite at the offer. She was always the type to make sure her word was backed by proof, and if that proof didn't back up her word she would work to make sure that it did the next time. Hearing Miss Pallopides remarks about her honesty and that they had the potential to work together was already more than she expected, she had figured it would take a lot more convincing, but then she could see where her offer to show Ayumi the manifest and work to develop ships that met the Silver Jedi's standards would endear her more to the other woman.

However, the fact that she went even farther and brought up untapped resources and something special now that Ayumi was keeping secret this time left the young Rendili woman feeling like now things were turned around. It made her smile. "I very much would like to see what we could accomplish together. I'd like that very much. I don't mind showing you the full blueprints for the cruiser now if you would like to see. Especially if you're bringing something special yourself." With a grin Cam would pull out a datapad and chip and offer them to the other girl, on them displaying a design of an old warship, now reborn, with technology to make many envious. "Perhaps from old old history you might remember the Old Republics and their Wars with the sith of that time, and how many Rendili ships filled the Republic Navy's roster. The Valor class cruiser was a primary warship at the time, acting as a large flagship carrier back then even though it was only 600 meters. Now what I would like to do is revitalize the design. We would make it a little larger I think, eight hundred or nine hundred meters so we can try and maintain the squadron capacity, while at the same time inserting special components to make the craft an excellent combat vessel as well. I mentioned the Proton-8 Reactor before, it was a Rendili product to trump Kuat's I-a2b used on Imperial Star Destroyers at the time. A reactor 1/4 the size but with all the power, but its expensive to make considering how much time and expertise goes into each. Still, the point being is we could fit this on a cruiser, much smaller than an Imperial SD, and not only boost its power output, but allow more space to maintain those hangers. In the end I believe this would result in the development of one of the most powerful ships bearing the designation of cruiser carrier."

Ayumi moved in her seat, shifting its position so she was closer and made it look more like two people were conspiring which in some ways sure why not... They had a plan a thing going on and everyone else didn't matter for the moment. That was an important thing to remember for thing of the things. Hearing about the reactor she had a nod of her head for that. It was a helpful thing and their reactor was smaller... the one the scientists had made was even smaller in ways. Ayumi brought out her own datapad to show it. "This is what we have for you to work with. Shri-tal is a major supplier of Illerium, Used for ejection seats... it can also be bombarded with radiation to form a very powerful source of energy. The Silver Jedi have been working to try and get a reactor using the isotope 5. With enough it should be smaller then most while giving more power."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Well that was certainly interesting. Rendili's reactor work was considered some of the best because of the Proton-8, but that was somewhat old considerably by modern standards, though because of the plague setting people back its advancement was still significant at least. The system workings that Rendili Stardrive's vessels could apply, like the Katanna Type Dreadnoughts for example, could also provide a ship with many advantages. All the same, the prospect of an even better reactor was something Camellia was interested in. Though she had some questions about it. "How stable is it? Admittedly the Proton-8 might prove more risky if damaged, but since its smaller it can be buried deeper in the ship. How would your reactor handle a ship trembling under fire? Also will it be large enough to handle multiple systems being run through it at least or would it stress out under the demand for different output sources? I just would like to know what are the risks involved, because even having engineers working on reactors to push them to the limits could have the risk of them setting off an unstable reaction. I assume the work is being conducted in a safe environment?"

Ayumi looked at her. "We don't know, it has been tried before but that is as much as we got. The darkness and information wipe has made obscure information even harder to find but the isotope exists it can power a datapad under continual use for a century with a microgram. That is as far as we know. We are testing now but under conditions on a ship... We do not know, it is going to be something rare and small scale. This wouldn't be flooding the galaxy just be something special on a ship or two that if it works might make them able to do other roles." Ayumi continued there while showing the reactor they had made for it to be filled with plenty that was still being created on the planets surface.

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

"I see. . ." Looking over the designs in her hand, Camellia could see where the idea was sound. However, at the same time there was still obviously a high level of risk doing all these experiments. A small amount was one thing, but enough to power a ship would require more than a microgram. If that much turned out to be unstable then it would be highly risky to install, personally Camellia was rather content with the proven and existing Proton-8 design, but she could see the potential for this as well. "I very much would like to see this and get some of our experts on the task as well. Our experience with pushing reactors before with the Proton-8 design might be of use in pushing the envelope here. Honestly it all comes down to how unstable the isotope is and in what quantities. Depending on that it might work on large ships, but if not we could likely always use it to develop unbelievably powerful generators for corvettes and starfigthers. I'd love to see some of that anyway. Would be a treat to watch a pirate force raid a squadron only to find their snub fighters can't break through the shields powered by a monster like the isotope reactor you have planned."

Ayumi gave a nod of her head to that while she agreed with her. This was the problem as it were, well not problem as much as it is progress. They had the choice between going for something and playing it safe not taking that risk that could create something new. While she didn't deny Rendili's reactor was powerful and the better choice you sometimes needed to take a little risk. They could do both and see and if it worked it worked if it didn't at least they tried and had new information to work with when it came to the tech. "Then I'll take you down to the lab, it seems to be stable for now but we want to take this slow and not rush ahead. Risking the lives of people isn't worth it if no one will benefit. When you are ready we can head to the planet and show you and then we can celebrate to our new partnership. There is a lovely place in the capital where they they have pieces of a hypergate on display in a restaurant."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

"That sounds wonderful actually. Perhaps another time then you can come to Rendili and we have you see progress done on the ships themselves." To be honest Camellia wasn't certain of the properties of the isotopes risks, she understood it enough because of her work constantly approving designs put forth, but she didn't know the technical details. If the isotopes could be contained to power a larger vessel without being too much of a threat then they would be an incredible power source. Certainly it seemed they could manage to do something for starfighters and corvettes for sure, maybe even frigates. The only question was if they could run cruisers and destroyers on this sort of power source. "I also think you definitely do need to take me to see that restaurant."

"Well once we are done down on the planet you have got yourself a date." Ayumi smiled now and stood up motioning with her hand towards the door while she moved and spoke. "We'll get down there, our shuttles are comfortable and never know what might happen." She was kidding and just glad to see what might come of it, she looked forward to that first progress report it meant a great deal more was happening and that everything was going well. Life would change as Ayumi walked making her way to the shuttle and changing her hair letting it down to frame her face for a moment before just going over her shoulder. "I have always wanted to see Rendili."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

"A date with a lovely lady like yourself? That doesn't sound too bad." Smiling herself as she followed after Ayumi, Camellia felt rather glad she had made the decision to explore the options of connecting with the Silver Jedi a little. It was definitely looking to be good for business, and with the potential for even greater technological leaps as a bonus it wasn't something that could be passed up. Not to mention that at the same time she felt more than a little giddy at the idea of a faction actually fielding Rendili's starships in their navy's premiere. There was no doubt in the young woman's mind either that the work she was offering would fail to meet expectations and then some.

Once they were at the shuttle the smile on her face only got bigger as she chuckled. "Then you definitely should come when we put the work into construction for these projects. I assure you that our shipyards are quite a sight. Maybe I can show you some restaurants I know there myself too."

Now that as she entered the shuttle to head down sounded lovely and perfect, Ayumi held a smirk on her face. The silver jedi were turning out to be something a lot more interesting and she was glad they were working on their government section. At least a little she was still under the taozin nodule that hid her from their senses which was needed. She preferred it that way without their noses prying in what she used the force to do... So many things at that. Letting the shuttle head down towards the capital that was visible from space then off a little towards the jungle. Safety minded in case of an explosion that might happen from it all.

She focused for a moment on the controls of the ship for one purpose, she wanted it to shake and jostle as the pilots hand slipped and rocked the shuttle. Ayumi used it as the excuse she needed to bump into the woman, holding briefly for a moment as her eyes remained trained on her with an arm going around to hold them stead. "A little turbulence, sometimes these pilots aren't as advertized." She offered a smile and looked up into those light chocolate eyes using the fullness of their height difference for a moment to lazily place her free hand between them on her chest to feel her chest. "Oh got my heart racing."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Honestly Camellia had little input on the Silver Jedi. They seemed like good enough people, and they were doing good work, and they also had been very welcome and reasonable clients. She wondered how the enhanced Hammerhead Frigates they had purchased were doing, and if the interceptors they bought ended up being to their liking. In truth they seemed a might bit better than the Jedi she was used to working with, although the members who joined Wraith Squadron seemed nice enough. If only she could get more of Rendili's designs integrated in the Republic fleets then she would be much happier about her homeworld's position and standing.

Speaking of standing though, whoever was piloting the shuttle didn't appear to like a stable flight pattern causing Ayumi to grab onto her to remain steady, something she was having difficulty with herself at the moment. Although it appeared the other woman was being a little dramatic, but it was also a little. . . .cute, and made Camellia chuckle a little before smiling. "Well you know it could be the shuttle too. . . .it isn't a Rendili model after all." Totally not shameless self promotion. "At least we're ok though." Holding on to a secure spot, the young Rendili woman held onto Ayumi as well to help the other girl out until the heart racing passed.
