Storms of Fire and Steel (Zenithian Imperium Defense of Seltos)

"Seltos?"

The word hung in the air, held aloft by the tension that smothered the room. The old bothan wasn't sure if this was true. If they were, then they needed to get moving. The troops were chomping at the bit for this new fight. He knew they wanted blood. But he needed to know where he could give it to them.

"You deaf, old ma..." His words were cut short by a blow to the gut. The prisoner, one of many brainwashed men and woman serving the Geonosians, doubled over as best he could in his restraints.

"Not deaf. Unconvinced." He frowned. Seltos was far out of the way, near the edge of GA space. Moving there... Would it even be worth it? He wasn't sure. And why would they hit Seltos anyways?

Why do any of us go to Seltos?

They wanted Phrik. Not only would it make them much harder to stop, it would help them should they attack the Alliance. If the Imperium could stop them here, they may be able to stall the inevitable alliance attack. Maybe even halt it.

At least, for a little while.

"Seltos is the only word I can remember. That, and a longing to go there."

"Thank you." He said, flashing a smile that probably wasn't all that comforting, and walked out. "How's it stack?"

"It's all lining up, boss." The female voice on the comm replied quickly. "The other interrogations are getting the same results." He smiled. They had it.

"Good. Inform the Grand Marshal and the Viceroy. We have our objective."

Three hours later
Seltos

"Sir, we know they'll be here any minute!"

"I know you say that, Imperial. I'm saying I don't believe you."

An audible sigh escaped his lips. "Very well. General, begin to pull your troops out. we'll leave these fools to their deaths."

"We can't do that, sir."

"Why not?"

"Because the Geonosians just entered system."

The Phrik Mines: The Geonosians will be looking to take the phrikite ore to use for themselves. Our goal is to stop them from doing this. Most of them will be flooding here, so be careful

Sommin City: As the Imperium discovered from their own experiences with the Geonosians, they have decided to go on a purging spree of the locals. Stop them, and the Seltos government will be indebted to us.

Orbital Defenses: If we can hold the transports and fleet at bay, it will be much easier for the troops on the ground.

Later in the invasion...

"Sir! They've broken through orbit! And they're heading right for us!"

"That's what we expected. Battle positions!" I yell. Men scramble into position ready to defend from the threat of the Geonosians. Some fidget in the moments before battle, while others vomit and shiver at the thought and dread of battle. I watch it all, taking in the sights, smells, and noise. Times like these have always been where I fit in. The rush of the battle, the thrill of the fight. It calms my mind and clears my thoughts. Focusing me at the time being. And I'm ready.

The sky turns red and orange as the drop pods of the Geonosians streak through the air like fireworks, descending through the sky like bringers of death.

I repeat those words in my head again. I'm ready. The pods touch down and enemies advance towards the army of the Imperium and me.

And I'm waiting for them.
