Below are two documents that are written in-character from my naval character's perspective and they're suggested changes to the First Order Navy. A lot of what drove this home was [member="Rolf Amsel"] and what he had in mind, and trying to articulate that vision while incorporating my own background and experience. And some of you may already know but some of you may not, I spent about twelve years writing Star Trek RP. Which might make a lot of what and how I write, make a lot more sense when it comes to my naval character because that's the experience I have and I'm learning as I go. I'm still new to how fleeting works on this board and how I can apply the experience that I have to this board. With that being said, when I sat down and wrote this, we hadn't finished Gehenna nor Bakura at the time and I was racking my brain for how to do this, how to make a proposal on this scale.
Now I understand that we will probably never have the numbers to pull any of this off, so to be quite honest, this is all flavor and lore. I wanted to give the Navy its own unique lore and a way to differentiate itself from the First Order of the films. And after going through the planetary assets list, and learning that we actually do have oh about, eighty plus more systems than what appears on the Chaos maps. I believe the numbers to be fairly accurate, and again flavor, I can change the numbers to better suit our needs. So as you read through the State of the Fleet I want you to bear in mind the vast majority of that is just flavor.
Carlyle was suggesting that all the PCs group up in one specific fleet together, however; as our members progress and rank up they'll gain more IC responsibility so they may very well be System/Sector Admirals in charge of different territories and keeping that safe. Or they're part of the Tactical Fleet and are willing to go out and do the attacks or expeditions (which I imagine most of them will). I just wanted to keep things open, as choices for them while keeping in line with the three different styles or archetypes that are being envisioned for the Navy.
Which brings me to the rank change proposals, what I wanted to do was to again bring in a way to meet with the lore. Once our admirals hit these levels, they can choose which way they want to go. I'll give you an example, I was given the choice between Envoy and Ambassador when I was promoted up from Representative. In the same way, our admirals would be given the same choice between Vice and System Admiral or Sector and Admiral if they decide to change it up. Just as something for them to work toward, and it's all still very much a work in progress.
Part of why I got into this the way I did, was when I first started with the First Order and I decided okay, I want to learn how to fleet and I want to figure out how to do this. I wanted to see how we were organised and who reported to who and who did what, because as I mentioned earlier. I come from Star Trek, and we can get very, very detailed and our structure is airtight and there is a very clear chain of command. And at the time when I joined the First Order I had a hard time trying to connect with the brass of the Navy.

Note: These are on my One Drive, not sure if you need a microsoft affiliated account but ... hey, never know.
Edit: I wanted to give you this as a way to see how the ranks would work with our current three tier structure, so I basically stole/followed [member="Rolf Amsel"]'s structure for the Ren and did it this way.
So, thoughts, questions?
