Affiliation: Open to Contracts approved by Rendili Stardrive
Manufacturer: Rendili Stardrive
Model: Rendili Starhammer Cruiser
Modularity: Weapon Mounts for the Turbolaser Batteries may be exchanged for Ion Cannons
Production: Minor Production for those with Contracts
Material:
Classification: Assault Cruiser

Length: 800 Meters
Width: 200 Meters
Height: 230 Meters
Crew: 6,132 Personnel

Armament: 16
  • Long Range Triple Barreled Heavy Turbolaser Cannons (160° firing arcs) x 10 (Arrayed over Cruiser Face)
  • Heavy Turbolaser Batteries [4 Turbolasers & 1 Point Defense Laser] (160° firing arcs) x 20 (Arrayed over Cruiser Face)
  • Heavy Laser Cannons x 200 (100 Cannons Port/Starboard)
  • Flak Cannons x 30 (15 Cannons Port/Starboard)
Defenses: 14

Hangar:
  • Starfighters x 4 (not squadrons)
  • Shuttles x 1
Special Features:
  • Slave Circuited Systems (not slaves people, slaved circuitry): Reduce personnel and maintenance requirements by tying several systems together to reduce repair and personnel requirements per ship. Runs of the risk of damage to multiple systems at once however.
  • Proton-8 Reactor: Sporting a powerplant providing enough energy for a vessel twice its size, the Starhammer Cruiser has enough energy to run more weaponry than normal while maintaining its advanced shield array that is more powerful than the average cruiser's.
  • Escape Pods: Self Explanatory
  • Life Support Systems: Allows for air for varying life-forms who may serve as the ship's crew or passengers.
  • Sensor Array: Self Explanatory
Maneuverability Rating: 14
Speed Rating: 14
Hyperdrive Class: 2
Passengers: 200 Onboard Security Troopers
Strengths:
  • Strong Defense: The Starhammer Cruiser's refined hull constructed from durasteel and plated with armor from the highly resistant duranium, alongside its sturdy superstructure built from a frame of Duralium and Lanthanide Alloys, make it formidable opponent to tackle and that's just beneath its heavy shields empowered by its advance reactor system.
  • Heavily Armed: Boasting maximum firepower for most ships in its class, the Starhammer Cruiser certainly rings true to its name as it brings hefty weaponry to the fore and tears apart enemies desperate to escape to flank its sides. Those who think little of heavy laser cannon beware the punishment they can suffer from this Capital Ship.
Weaknesses:
  • Low Self Sufficiency: The Starhammer Class has a single fighter squadron to support itself and thus is not much of a solo operations vessel. Instead it settles as a ship of the line meant for combat against other capital ships.
  • Risk of Efficiency: While the slave circuitry reduce maintenance costs, the time of repairs, and crew necessary for the vessel to function. . . it does allow for several systems of the ship to fail at once rather than one when damage is suffered enough.
Description: In an age of flashy Destroyers, Rendili Stardrive seeks to influence the market with more compact and efficient designs. At the same time, however, the classic shipwright seeks to empower its clientele with quality starships that meet their needs and can match up to the competition. For that purpose the Starhammer Cruiser comes as a warship with the design meant to provide system governments and galactic powers with a ship of the line that is capable of withstanding punishment from threats while maintaining the speed and firepower to combat them. Its supporting starfighter squadron, while insufficient to provide ample protection to the vessel itself, is useful for reconnaissance and contributing to larger fleet operations where other vessels may make up the Starhammer's shortcomings.

Prospective buyers need not concern themselves of the difficulty in fielding crewing requirements for the vessel as its efficient Rendili circuitry cuts down on personnel and maintenance costs, as well as the time needed to repair malfunctioning or damaged systems, by wiring the vessel's systems through slave circuitry. Thus Starhammer Cruisers are cheaper to field without the threat of a loss of quality. Skilled and Veteran Captains will find themselves honored and envied if fortunate to command a Starhammer Cruiser in any Galactic Navy. For they are certain to keep systems safe, populations secure, and improve the quality of any contractor's fleet.
Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/85420-sleek-and-new-products/
Intent: To create an Assault Cruiser under the new guide for Rendili Stardrive's which misses an assault cruiser among its products.
Who Can Use This: Those under Factions with a Contract

This is 20% smaller than the example Heavy Cruiser given in the template, yet faster, the same armaments and with 4 starfighters.

You do, however, have development.

Bring the speed and manoeuvrability into line with the example ship and reduce to minor production and I'd be happy to approve. Otherwise we'll need a significant drop in armaments and defensive systems.

Would making speed 13/13 and defense 12 or 13 work instead? And how many more posts might be necessary if the goal was mass production?

If you reduce defences to say 8, remove the advanced defensive systems and stated in the weaknesses that this was the case I would consider this something of a fast glass cannon and be happy to approve.

To mass produce this ship under those conditions, maybe 15 more quality posts.

Mmmmm alright thanks for the info. I think I'll change it to minor and 13/13 for you.

If I get another wind I can always come back to modify it with the dev threads and a redesign.
