Special Features
Integrated Antimatter Reactor - To overcome the problem identified by the STA-01, the STA-H04 contains an integrated Antimatter Reactor. This drastically reduces Weapons Power Use on larger Emergence Vessels to allow for better functionality during battle.
Strengths
Ammo? - Not necessarily. It relies entirely on the Reactor built into its chassis
Powerful - Although muzzle-exit velocity is lower than most Laser-Based Turbolasers, the nature of the Plasma Projectile being extremely hot and much heavier makes each round pack a significant punch
Weaknesses
Power Use - Although the STA-H04 doesn't draw from the Host-Ship's Reactor, it has its own to contend with. After a maximum of 15 Full-Barrel salvos, the self-sustaining Annihilation Plasma in its Reactor diminishes. This forces the battery to wait while the Plasma re-ignites and resumes annihilation.
Cheeky Antimatter - Although buried deep within the chassis, the Reactor has a fuel supply. One that consists of a large quantity of Mag. Confined Antimatter. If the Turret is destroyed, there is a possibility that portions of this Fuel escape deeper into the Hull of the Vessel, reacting with Matter and causing serious damage.
Description
The STA-H04 is the Large/Superlarge friendly Turboplasma Battery of the Emergence. Four 18m Barrels condense and accelerate the Gamma-Ray Plasma produced within their local AMR, buried deep within their chassis, to fire them out at massive speeds and potentially deliver serious damage.
The STA-01 was the proof-of-concept for Turboplasma weaponry. But its Ammo Supply proved to be a complicated issue. To avoid the Shoot-or-Move complication, the STA-H04 is built with an integrated AMR. This allows it to Full-Fire during Broadsides and intense firefights without having an effect on the rest of the Ship.
The Plasma that sustains the Annihilation reactions is what is drawn from. Thus the Battery can fire up to 15 Full-Fire Salvos before the Plasma is diminished to its minimum. This reduces Reaction Level below the minimum needed to fire, forcing the Battery to enter a brief hibernation while the Plasma re-heats and ignites.
