Dark humour - Everything in ST-2370’s life seems to be in some way tied to death. In such a grim profession, ill-suited jokes seem excellent to release some much needed tension and keep spirits high within a unit.

Straightforward - ST-2370 is an infantryman. If you order him to pilot a ship out of danger, slice turrets, or throw rocks with his mind you may not enjoy the result.
Just a man - ST-2370 is not meant to be a lone ranger who takes on enemies one on one, but fights as a part of a unit. Being separated from the rest of his squad puts him at a great disadvantage
