The "Cricket" is usually paired together (one per hand) to allow for a more effective and deadly weapon set. It's strong pointe is close quarter combat, making it an excellent friend to have. Its accuracy and rate of fire allow for the owner to easily relocate while maintaining a steady flow of suppression fire or to drop targets in quick fashion. Though it is considered to have a high powered accessory, it lacks the ability to break through stronger armour (7 and up).
Despite all it's pluses, it is only good at short range making the weapon void if used to shoot at long distance targets. It is not recommended to be used after 25 meters. It is a slow weapon to reload but this countered by the extended magazines and ammo capacity.
The idea by this design was to allow the user, in this case Sarli Ra-Suutar, to have dual weapons she could trust in close quarters. As a bounty hunter and Mandalorian warrior, targets at times would be closer than she would like. Something that was more compatible for close quarters than say a blaster rifle or sniper rifle.
