| DESCRIPTION |
Varian was always a curious individual. Having grown up on his family's farm and having little formal education of his own, he was curious about many things and all things of the Galaxy. He wanted to know many things, he wanted to know how life worked and what his place was. In time after leaving his home, he found the First Order and found solace...he found a place in the military nation where he felt as though he belonged. Years went by and he learned more and more of what the Galaxy of and how different people were outside of his rural homeworld of Tamora. In time, he came to join the Order of Ren after finding out he was force sensitive. He relished in his own abilities, finding delight in what he could do. And in doing so, he came to find love in the arms of a significant lover. Someone whom he had met within the Order itself, they had bonded and grown to love one another as though nothing else mattered save for the two of them. However, such hopes and dreams of happiness and of new lives can never last. In time, the woman betrayed him and left without a word...leaving him alone.
He left the Order to find her...and then went out on his lonesome in the Galaxy with an unknown path...he was lost...
Varian dared to never touch a lightsaber again since his time in the First Order. It always brought back too many painful memories, most especially of his former lover whom he simply called Valas now. He never wanted to wield a saber again, he never wanted to use the force again, he never wanted to be associated with the force ever again. However, that was until he came across his former lover months after the two had departed. In anger, he lashed out...killing her. Alaric had already been at a dark place in his life, finding nothing but black and shadow in his waking hours and just doing his job...a job which only involved killing. Something which the former Knight of Ren was good at, despite his wanting to not be good at such a thing.
Alaric trapped his former lover's soul within a lightsaber crystal, not out of love but anger. Anger at what she had done to him and taken from him, anger because of all of the false promises that she had told him about them being together. No more. No longer. He. Was. Free. From her. He sealed the kyber crystal within a metal housing, a lightsaber hilt...a prison for his former lover...a tomb to act as a catalyst to draw power from, from within himself and his own worries and anxieties if he ever dared to wield such a blade ever again.
