SORCERY IN THE SPICE MINES

The Planet of Bryndar a snowy hellscape drenched in the midst of an ice age. Away from the galactic powers due to its remoteness made it the perfect spot for individuals such as pirates to hide and build strongholds within the snowy peaks. Regional Law Enforcement wouldn't come to this planet due to not having the proper equipment to deal with snow and frost, making it the perfect opportunity for the Spice Cartel of Coruscant to stake its claim to the planet. With only criminals on the planet, there wasn't much need to send armies of thugs or droid forces to build a new settlement for them as the populace was more than happy for an opportunity to work while they awaited their time in exile to be over. While the Spice Cartel built up the settlement within the mountains and began to fortify it in the event that it was discovered. A more well known faction of criminals and a major part of the spice cartel would begin to shift some of its operations in spice production to the settlement, of course the only syndicate that controlled the spice trade was the Pykes. Slaves and Prisoners would begin to work deep beneath the mine shafts of the planet, extracting various minerals and implanted spice within its walls. Normally spice couldn't be grown on snowy planets, so this was simply a way for them to control the workers into doing something productive.

The Settlement eventually eclipsed all the other settlements on the planet. As such the smugglers and vagabonds started to call it the cartel's mining station, and the pykes did nothing to prevent this rumor from spreading. The policy being that if more people would come to the station, the more they could enslave and life debt them into working thus driving up the syndicate's profits to send back to Oba Diah. The Spice Cartel's Mining Station would be underneath the control of Foreman Arkath Craypa, from the craypa gang within the pyke syndicate. Loyal to his own self interests and not the minister of Oba Diah made him sort of an outlaw within his own species but he generated enough revenue from the station to settle the differences between them. The Bryndar Spice would be shipped to various planets through back channels, until it eventually came to the eyes and ears of Arimurkhan the Defiler, Exalted Prophet of the Great Vortex and renegade from the Brotherhood of the Maw.

"The Frozen Tundra makes for a perfect base of operations, if you consider the physiological factors for the various slaves within the station itself." Arimurkhan said to himself, his voice scarred and sounding twisted due to the number of modifications and augmentations to his massive form. Traveling to the Mining Station was considerably easy due to the number of underworld channels that anyone could gain access to if they had a considerable amount of coinage on hand. While he himself didn't bother with money in any shape or form, believing it to be a waste of time and energy for material things. Killing the pirate who owned the ship was without difficulty due to the 2 Arcane Spellcasters by his side, serving as his protection detail for the journey. They touched down within a short distance to the Foreman's Abode within the station. As the ramp opened up to reveal his massive form, his aura would be unmistakable due to its unstable nature.

The Defiler would be within his signature armor of blue and gold tint, white robes would cover the armor for the most part and a strange bird like mask would be on his face, connected into the armor itself that supplied him with oxygen when on unfamiliar planets. His mask had four eyes although two of them were for seeing and another two were made to scan the battlefield for danger, supplying that information into his helmets' hud to be reviewed at his leisure. He clutched his long and pointed staff within his hand, now revealing his real form of 12'2 tall in height and 1,500 pounds of pure weight due to his extensive armored shell around him. Although he was heavy in weight, he was packed with immense muscles that made him a sort of Sorcerer-Warrior.

He proceeded towards the Foreman's Abode, passing by several slaves and their pyke overseers. Arimurkhan had not come here simply for a meeting with the spice lords of bryndar, he was on another objective to expand his influence throughout the galaxy by forming a new brand of spice with a little bit of sorcery. A potent spice able to hook a user on it and not allow them to function without it, turning them slowly into the service of the Great Vortex of the Force. His Twin Arcane Spellcasters by his side, a single lightsaber upon their armored robes as force users were more common in this day and age compared to the ancient galactic empire that once ruled. With a single click of the blast-doors, the Pyke Sentinels would allow the man inside the foreman's abode to discuss more in detail about his proposal and provide some form of compensation for taking time out of his day. Although Arimurkhan could just kill him and take whatever he needed, making useful pawns would benefit himself and the Techno Magorum Tribe more than revealing themselves too quickly to the public.

As the Great Devourer commands, so shall it become.

The attack on Panatha had left the Murakami weakened in numbers. So much so, in fact, Elani had returned to her duties of seeking out young witch aspirants to fill the void left behind by her fallen sisters. She refused to let her clan die out and be forgotten before she could enact her revenge upon the Dathomiri her father cared for ever so much.

Ancient Dathomiri divining rituals performed by the Murakami combined with the use of the Sith Nova holocron are what led the matron to Bryndar. Several lost souls were being held there, awaiting a savior. One who would show them the true path of servitude.

One that would lead to Muurakk.

The black wings of Emberwing clearly contrasted with the pure white snow below it. It flew low with stealth systems engaged, so any who would spot it, would see it far too late to stop it. The transport landed not far from the mining station where Elani's hopefuls were being enslaved. As the ship touched down, the snow beneath it melted quickly, revealing a flat stone and grass plateau. Elani descended upon the ramp as it extended from the ship. She carried her two blades with her, deciding on leaving her lightsaber on Emberwing.

She looked out at the landscape and breathed in deeply the coarse air.

"It reeks of death and servitude. Just like home." she uttered beneath her breath. She walked towards the settlement and, as she did, she could feel a disturbance in the Force. A large entity of dark side power. One strong enough that she could tell it was malicious indeed. She paid it no mind as she would be in and out before it or anything else could realize what was happening.

The Arcane Spellcasters

"Tell me, my friend. What brings you all the way out here to the den of the pykes." Foreman Arkath Craypa asked to Arimurkhan as he entered into his rich and luxury office abode within the mining station. Smoking a small sample of bryndar spice mined from the thousands of slaves working day in and day out to produce the vast quantities that the Spice Cartel wanted them to do. Foreman Craypa personally didn't care for the slave part of the arrangement, as machines could be much more cost efficient and didn't require numerous guardsman to prevent a rebellion. All that funding for the security of the complex cut deep into his own pockets and naturally like any criminal mastermind, keeping all that wealth would benefit himself and his gang that ran the complex. The air was filled with spice, although the thick smoke didn't do much to Arimurkhan who filter it through his extensive armored shell.

"You have something that I want." Arimurkhan said to the Pyke Foreman, leaving it purposely vague to avoid giving too much details into his overall plan. Twisting spice into something far more potent would require samples to work with, whom better to turn to than the Pyke Syndicate and the Spice Cartel of Coruscant. Both had suffered from the galaxy's ever shifting borders and self proclaimed influence. Useful they would be in expanding his overall criminal connections without revealing too much about him. All they would know is that he could provide them with extra coinage to make it through the day. Whom would refuse such a generous offer and whom was stupid enough to challenge him directly in either combat or the force. He was not only a powerful sorcerer but his armored shell made him a dangerous physical combatant.

"Something from me?, how vague but you have me interested. Mysterious Friend from distant planets." Foreman Craypa said in response, leaning back on his chair as it creaked a little underneath of his small weight. Smoking another puff of spice before carrying on, "The only thing that we have is spice and slaves although you could find those at zygerria or kessel if you wanted those bad enough. However I suspect and you can prove me wrong, that you are here for another reason to get a sample of the spice we have to offer." he stated once again, correctly assuming that the Exalted Prophet was here for another reason and not simply for spice and slaves as those were common enough not to travel all the way out here. He could appreciated a man who was dedicated to his cause and could potentially line his pockets.

"You are correct in that rega-" Arimurkhan paused for a second, something was here that wasn't his own aura. Due to his overpowering aura even the slightest difference in the force would alert him that someone was there. Although he could tell that someone had arrived he didn't know how far they were away from the settlement or even if they were nearby. The Exalted Prophet would not let them interfere with his own agenda on the planet if they were within the settlement, so a slight change of plans was necessary. "Foreman Craypa, if you would be so kind as to show me some of the stock you have in storage." Arimurkhan pivoted to another topic, making him sound interested in the purchasing of some slaves. Although he himself had no use for slaves but merely as a tool to be used and sacrificed to the Great Vortex of the Force. His Twin Arcane Spellcasters would look between themselves before understanding the desired result and would still provide protection to Arimurkhan even if he didn't need it.

"Certainly, I can provide you with an impressive stock of slaves to look over and if you desire purchase for the base rate of exchange." Foreman Craypa said to him, getting up from his seat and walking towards the holographic transmissions device that was nearby. Pressing the intercom button upon it to relay the information to the various task masters that oversaw each section of slaves. "I shall need about 200 slaves to the inspection square on floor 5 of the mining station. Make sure that they are cleaned up and wearing something more fitting for slaves." Foreman Craypa ended his message, walking towards the turbolift within his office that would take them to the 5th floor of the mining station itself. Waiting for the Exalted Prophet to enter inside, and he did with the sound of his armored boots clanking on the floor. The turbolift went down from floor zero to the 5th floor of the mining station opening up to reveal a large inspection square where slaves would be inspected for contraband and making sure that they were still of some use to the spice cartel before they were disposed off in the various furnaces to be used for biofuel. The 200 Slaves would be of various species, among them would be ( Elani Zambrano Elani Zambrano )'s hopefuls waiting to be inspected by the Exalted Prophet and the Foreman of the Mining Station.

Arimurkhan and the Foreman would proceed out of the lift towards the inspection square, the twin spellcaster's not far behind. Surrounding the square would be numerous and heavily armed and armored pyke syndicate guardsman, with a few overseers to keep the slaves in order. Reaching the inspection square would be difficult but not impossible however avoiding the gaze of Arimurkhan and his spellcasters would be the real problem. All of this was simply an elaborate ruse to draw out the presence that he felt. Weather it succeeded or not was of no consequence in the overall grand plan of the Great Vortex of the Force.
