Braze nodded slowly. "I did. We dropped him off in a forest on Veridia," he said in a quieter tone. "I have not found a way of removing my switch, so to speak." His fingers twitched faintly at his side, a small tell of discomfort.

"I am glad you met Aether. He is a good carbon based life form. A ship is pretty generous, but it is still better than leaving you feeling boxed in." Braze gave a light shrug before continuing. "At the moment, I have taken up teaching a youngling. I have been enjoying the time away from the front lines and the chance to teach classes."
He looked her over curiously. "Does it feel nice to be out and about ? "

"I like not feeling like someone is breathing down my neck," she answered with an exhale.

There was certainly something relieving about being able to just... go places. She had always been under so much scrutiny, the kind of scrutiny that would literally kill you. Worst of all was the fact that her body was literally programmed to avoid death at all costs, even at points where she may not have even wanted to preserve herself. To that end it was nice to have that freedom she was sorely lacking.

And yet, she was still looking for something...

"I should be returning to Veridia soon," Seven reasoned after a moment of silence. "I... do not wish to take that generosity for granted. I've made use of their loan for long enough."

Seven paused before speaking again.

"I imagine it is unlikely that we do not continue to cross paths," the Evereni reasoned.

Braze offered a light shrug. "I'm sure if you chose a career path, they'd be more than willing to help you get set up. Believe me. When Master Tirin wants something done, he makes no reservations about making that very clear."

He let out a soft breath, remembering. "He once sent me to the top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere just to fulfill a single missive for him."

Braze glanced toward her again. "If you're looking to repay any sort of favor, I'd bet he could offer you gainful employment without hesitation. All you'd have to do is ask."

"Would I have to be a... Jedi, to receive that employment?" Seven asked with a soft exhale. "I'm... that path isn't mine to walk. I... am unsure of if I will be allowed to remain if I do not become one..."

She didn't state it outright, but she was most worried because it was the first place she had been offered real shelter and protection. Wasn't it natural to want those sorts of things? Of course, if they were only willing to host Jedi long-term that made her position rocky. Seven had no draw to walk that path... she wanted to chart her own course. There was no doubt in her mind that it more than likely...

"No... Jedi work with all kinds of other peoples," Braze offered simply. "Jedi in general would rather look out for other Force-users. I don't think it's a big deal, to be honest. You seem rather... harmless."

Braze set a hand on her shoulder and leaned forward, looking her in the eye before smirking and abruptly shoving her as if to push her over into a snowbank.

He glanced off towards Neriyan Soria through the falling bits of snow flurries in the distance.

Seven really didn't react. She could have, sure, but she was so wrapped up n the real conversation she had been having that she hadn't been expecting Braze to flip so quickly back to being childish. It wasn't like the ground was hard. It was covered in a fluffy layer of snow. Rather, the young woman couldn't find the energy to get back to her feet. She laid there on her back, letting out an exhale.

"I hate you."

It wasn't said with anger, more disappointment. He didn't know how badly she needed someone else her age to talk to her like a real person. His glimmer of maturity gave her what she wanted, only for a brief moment.

Braze stepped closer, hands casually behind his back, looking down at her. "You're awfully dramatic for someone who didn't even try to dodge. If you wanted me closer, you could have just asked." He offered her a hand as if to help her up.

"You said you don't get cold. " He mused in reply with a cheeky smirk trying not to laugh at how silly she looked flopped over in the puffy snow bank. He stepped even closer, hand casually behind his back, looking down at her. "If you need someone your age to talk to, you should've known better than to expect me to behave."

"I guess that's on me," Seven sighed.

She brushed Braze's hand away and got herself back up to her feet, brushing the snow off of her. Maybe she wouldn't be so stiff if Braze could pick something consistent. He was so all over the place it was overwhelming. Seven couldn't match that energy. It changed to quickly for her to follow along.

What she needed was someone more low-key. It seemed like that was a long shot here.

"Look, I... I'm clearly not getting anything of value out of standing around, so can you at the very least direct me to a good place to meditate? Please?"

Her 'please' notably lacked the edge that the rest of her tone carried. She just needed somewhere to connect to this place. Ilum was like a giant focus. If she wanted direction, she needed the right place to let her mind open to all of that. The Evereni wasn't sure where that was, and it seemed like Braze was her best shot at directions...

Even if he was awful.

Braze wanted to gently shove her back in to the snow. He resisted the urge whoever. " Most people meditate in the caverns when looking for a crystal... but I suppose.... you could go to the temple and get all the snow off~" Braze chirped and gestured towards the direction.

"Do you have a less vague direction for that temple?" Seven asked. "That isn't... vague gesturing in a direction?"

Something that gave her a better idea on where to go that was coherent would be nice. But then again, maybe she was asking for too much. She didn't really know when to expect a real answer out of the Echani.

Braze tugged Gidgit free from the satchel with one hand, giving the compact droid a little shake until his photoreceptor flickered awake in a neon blue blink. The moment power surged through his servos, the tiny frame gave its familiar hum, repulsors sputtering before stabilizing into a steady hover.

"Up you get," Braze muttered, brushing snow off the droid's dome with a thumb. Once Gidgit fully booted, Braze tilted him forward and pointed toward their guest.

"Gidgit, can you take the little lady to the temple~?" he asked, voice sing-song, as if waking and assigning missions to droids was the most natural thing in the world.

The little droid straightened up with a proud electronic chirp, antennae perking.

"Greetings designated Little Lady~! I am G.I.D.G.I.T., your designated transportation companion today. Transportation to the Temple is now queued and confirmed. Please remain within three steps of my chassis to ensure optimal safety compliance. I am prepared to depart at your command! Please follow me! Or, if preferred, I can follow you! I am highly adaptable!"

His photoreceptor brightened, sweeping once over the girl before he rotated toward the exit point with brisk readiness.

Seven closed her mouth. She'd scold Braze about calling her that later, but the little droid would not be caught up in that. The Evereni let out a huff. Weakness. She had grown softer away from Kalrath's gaze.
