Some People Juggle Geese [Elayne]

Fabula had noticed a pattern to her life over the last (and only) two weeks she had been conscious. First, get bored and go looking for the biggest critter around. Second, pick a fight with it. Third, come flying out of the bushes when it smacks you hard enough to send you into low orbit.

She'd have to work on that last part.

Having run out of rancor legends to fight around the Nightsister clans, Fabula had done something phenomenally ill-advised and gone to search for some closer to the Allyans. Upon speaking with one of the lightsider's slaves, she had found a terrorized account of a massive, fearsome whuffa worm that had been molesting the males that strayed into a specific hunting area. Fabula wasn't at all surprised to hear that the local Witches hadn't dealt with the problem. It's just a worm. Why would that be any concern of theirs?

So Fabula had taken it onto herself to see this magnificent beast for herself. And, unsurprisingly, she had picked a fight with it. As per normal, she got a swing or two in before she misjudged exactly how much reach a giant ground worm has, and off she went, flying from the impact of being neck-slapped by a sandworm the size of a train.

When she stopped flying, she had landed in a populated area. Sort of . There were huts nearby, which normally meant males. She didn't pay it much mind, hoisting herself off the ground and looking around for her lightsabers. "Lesson one: don't let it hit you. Why is it taking you so long to learn that, stupid girl?"

Elayne had been nearly been hit by a flying... witch? She lookekd her over trying to figure out who it was. " Hello? " She said staring at her cautiously. She still had the amulet on the radiated darkness. she thought she heard the girl call her self stupid. That was hardly appropriate So here was elayne trying to figure out where this witch had come from and what she was up to. She threw the lightsaber that had landed near her at the witch.

Elayne was pretty happy go lucky, She was bored... waiting for Cai to return. She loved her mate but he spent to much time away. She needed to talk to him about that. She waited for a response, thinking of the various things thiat could occupy her if this witch didn't.

Okay, so there was one lightsaber. Where was the ot- "Gak!" Okay, bad aim! Bad aim!

As Fabula ducked out of the way of her own weapon almost smacking her in the head, she turned around with a sheepish smile and returned a greeting to whoever it was who had greeted her. "Hi there. Sorry for the commotion." A woman in Allyan territory meant an Allyan Witch. Fabs probably shouldn't have even spoken to her at all, let alone tried to be friendly. Still, reflexes and all. "I'm dealing with your bug problem. Won't take but a minute."

Aaand just like that, she reignited both orange laser-blades and charged back off towards that damn worm. This time, she wouldn't misjudge its reach. She wouldn't get smacked several hundred feet and fly like a thrown ball. More importantly, she thought she found something of a gap in its hide last time, a place where its underbelly scales divided from each other. If she could just get one of her weapons into that gap, it would crumple like a house of cards.

Elayne smiled and followed the woman, she seemed nice and was helping take care of the giant worm... So she ran at the worm too.. though she didn't know about its reach. What elayne did know was how to shoot fire at it... and it just happened that she was in range of the camp fire, as Elayne began to chant calling the fire and blasting the worm with it. Elayne was good at the spell. It was also like the one she really knew. It was sort of funny but she hadn't known any others really. So here she was blasting the worm with fire.

" I will keep distracting it! " She said as she ran chanting still calling forth flames at the worm.. when she could. She was running out of fire though, she would have to think up another plan but that was niether now or here. She ran keeping out of range before being sent flying much as Fabula had been.. It hurt... She had gotten scrapped up and such... but it wouldn't stop her.. as Elayne slowly got up she paid attention to what the other woman was doing. Perhaps she could make another friend like bronwyn.

The worm was gone when she got back to where she had found it. Of course it was gone. It was a subterranean creature, there was no reason for it to be aboveground when there was nothing to eat nearby. It didn't take more than a few seconds for the ground beneath her to start rumbling, and Fabula wisely dashed out of the way before she could be eaten by a huge friggin' worm-beast as it emerged from the ground again.

She thought she had a second's distraction when it emerged from the ground to do something to it, so the little Witch-Knight tried to slice open its belly with her weapons. She got maybe a few inches in (that stuff was as thick as durasteel) before it noticed her and moved to sweep her away again. She was able to leap out of the way this time, practically coughing out the words to the Song of Power as she did, but just barely. The momentum of the worm's body-swing still knocked her a lot farther than she'd intended.

As she landed, Fabula blinked at the arrival of the woman who had almost knocked her out by whacking her in the head with her own lightsaber. And apparently she was trying to help. And apparently she could sling fire like...some fire-slinging thing. After taking just a moment or two to note exactly how phenomenally weird her life was, Fabula charged in, taking her advice to use her attack as a distraction.

She didn't really notice (or care) when the other woman got knocked flying. Instead, she just sprinted in again, her legs powered with a combination of Force and Rage to bolster her speed and cut into the time the massive critter would have to react. Then, continuing the trend of "cutting into" things, she gave two more slices, once with each weapon. Chunks of bone-plate flew everywhere, and she grinned. as she saw the fleshy underbelly.

Rearing her arms back, eyes glowing Dark Side yellow with undiluted Rage, she thrust both of her weapons so far into the worm's stomach that she could feel its blood on her hands. She'd probably severed something important, like a spinal cord or backbone or whatever equivalent worms had, because the last movement it made to go for her ended in a slumping fall and a pained sigh.

Walking up to the fallen beast's head, Fabula had more than a slightly evil smirk on her face. She dropped one lightsaber back to her belt, then flipped the other one around in a showy twirl before stabbing it directly into the monster's skull. As it turns out, even its powerful plated scales couldn't resist an uncontested lightsaber thrust. She let herself give a quick sigh of relief, and enjoyed the feel of the powerful creature's soul washing over her as it breathed its last.

Her words were surprisingly calm, considering she had recently been fighting for her life. "Glorious spirit, strength of old. The Force now takes your mighty soul. Though life be spent and spirit soars, the world will remember your thundering roar."
