Some new armor (Kad Tor)

Kable Detta climbed off of his speeder bike and walked into the Beskar smith shop. There were other places that Kable could have gone, but this was the only place that Kable would go. Because this, was where [member="Kad Tor"] worked.

The youngest of the two Tor siblings was at the front counter. Kable took of his buy'ce and clipped it to his belt and smiled at his brother-in-law. "Just the man I want to see"
"Kad, it's time for some new armor"

[member="Kable Detta"] had quite the knack for walking in when Kad was about to take his lunch break, but then again Kable had his own business. The last time Kable walked in through the door, he had asked Kad for permission to marry [member="Briika Tor"]. It had been an easy answer for the Mando'ad to give, as the verd across the counter loved her with everything he had, that, and he was an honorable verd. Kad was proud to have him as part of the family.

"Kable Detta needs new armor and came to see me for it. Is that because you knew I wouldn't say no?"

Kad laughed hard. This would be a fun project for the beskarsmith.

Kable chuckled as he pulled his datapad from a puch on his utility belt.
"No, I came here cause I don't trust anyone else to make my Beskar'gam." [member="Kad Tor"]

He placed the datapad in front of Kad and swiped through some design ideas. As Kad looked through the designs, he would see plans for
  • Armorweave body suit to be worn under armor plates
  • Black Beskar plating
  • Vacuum seals with 10 hours of oxygen
  • Environmental seals for temperature control
  • Blink activated HUD housed in the buy'ce with an integrated computer
  • Wrist rocket and dart launcher with aim assist software connected to helmet computer integrated into right gauntlet
  • Electrobinoculars integrated into T-Visor
  • Night vision and infrared vision integrated in T-Visor
  • Grapple launcher with liquid cable dispensers integrated into left gauntlet
  • Retractable vibro-blade housed in left gauntlet
  • Utility belt with attached bandoleer for holding grenades and equipment

Kable let Kad look it over for awhile before asking "So, what do you think?"

"Okay, vod. This is pretty straight forward. I can do this. I'm gonna need measurements though.

Kad took the datapad and copied the specs to his own que. The beskarsmith waved his brother in law to the back of the shop. He showed him a changing room, and motioned him in.

"Come out in the undersuit and I'll measure. It may get awkward, but I promise my hands won't go anywhere that's off limits. I'll be waiting just out here for ya."

Ral was rubbing off on him. He could have sworn that last part sounded like he had her accent.

[member="Kable Detta"]

He slapped his brother in law on the shoulder as he passed him to enter the changing room.
"There's no such thing as off limits when comes to you Kad" He jested. [member="Kad Tor"]

He unhooked his armor plate and unbuckled his utility belt and left it all in a neat pile in the changing room and exited the changing room in just his armorweave bodysuit.

He held out his arms to Kad and grinned widely "Shall we start with foreplay?"

Kad snapped the tape measure so it made a loud cracking sound. There was a ornery grin on his face. If Kable mentioned foreplay one more time, he was going to find out how dangerous a tape measure could be, and since his armor plating was off........ it would hurt.

"Ral and Briika might get jealous. I think hands had best stay where hands out to stay.

That's about all Kad was going to say on that subject as he began to take [member="Kable Detta"]'s measurements. He recorded the different measurements in his datapad along with the armor specs Kable was after.

"So Ral and I were thinking that we need to have a double date. When can you and Briika come over to my place for dinner?"

Kable laughed heartily at Kad's jest. Then he raised his arms and stood in the poses ordered by Kad as the Beskarsmith took his measurements.

Kable looked at the image on Kad's datapad which projected what Kable's armor would look like. It was a masterpiece.
Kable clapped Kad on the back "It looks perfect Kad'ika, see why I came to you?" [member="Kad Tor"]

Kable nodded eagerly "A double date would be awesome, things seem to be getting serious between you and that firecracker huh?"

"That's a rendering [member="Kable Detta"]. Believe me the real thing won't look like that exactly. All the plating will be hand made so each piece isn't going to be exactly the same as the other. Not exactly as uniform as a machine could do, but it will have character that's for sure."

Kad thought Kable was bing a bit generous. All he had seen was the rendering, and he didn't really know the skill the young beskarsith had. There was more to crafting armor than just measuring and rendering, and this armor was going to have some challenges. There were a lot of electrical components to work on, some that Kad would curse over most likely.

The conversation did shift a bit to Ral once more. How exactly was he supposed to answer that question?

"Well we are getting closer. Since Briika moved out I have been spending more time with her. I know I feel things are serious."

Kable grinned at the young Beskarsmith's modesty. Kable had seen the finished products of Kad's work, and he had no reason to be modest. They were truly works of art.

Kable listened intently as the conversation turned to the relationship between Kad and Ralize.
"Well then, take the plunge, there is no sense in delaying things when you know in your heart what you want"
[member="Kad Tor"]

Take the plunge. Kad had to bite his tongue. They had taken the plunge after Bastion, in fact when mad went home, [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] would be waiting for him with a hot meal on the table, barefoot, and dressed in something that would make Kad's heart leap into his throat. The pair just hadn't made their riduurok yet. It wasn't the traditional way that Kad had been raised with, but it was what the two had wanted.

"All her family is on Nar Shaddaa. I was thinking of taking a trip with her to meet them all. You know get their blessing and all that. She had two brothers."

Kad looked over the specs and waved [member="Kable Detta"] further into the forge. Kad had to check his supply to be sure he could get the job done in a timely manner.

Kable was happy to hear that things were progressing with the two love birds. Meeting the family was a big step. Upon hearing that he was headed to Nar Shadda, Kable said "Make sure you go armed" He chuckled.

He followed Kad further into the forge as he checked his supply.
Kable pulled out a credit chip with a hefty sum of credits and handed it to Kad "This should handle the expenses plus labor, and I'll have more for you when I pick it up" He winked at his brother-in-law. [member="Kad Tor"]

"Put it away and save it for something you really need," Kad said to [member="Kable Detta"] as he waved off the card. "Ner vode don't pay for my services, Kable. Consider it a wedding gift."

That was it. If Kable thought he would be able to get him to accept, he was wrong. Kad was stubborn like Solus, so Kabke would be smart not to try.

"One week tops."

Kable had been in enough encounters to know when he didn't have the advantage, and it seemed that the Beskarsmith had won this one.
"Thank you vod, you didn't have to do that" [member="Kad Tor"]

"One week will be fine, I'll see you and Ral soon I hope?"

"You will, a double date, but first I need to talk to you about something," Kad said to @Kabke Detta.

There had been an incident on Bastion, the reason he needed new armor in the first place. Kabke had been lucky but his temper had almost made his sister a widow. Kable had promised Kad he would treat Briika right and take care of her. He couldn't do that dead.

"Bastion, you wanna talk about why you snapped?"
