PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
- Hair: Long, thick auburn hair that falls in loose, often untamed waves. Though naturally elegant in texture, it is frequently left windswept or hastily tied back, reflecting his inconsistent attempts at practicality.
- Eyes: Distinct violet-lavender eyes, wide and observant, often carrying a nervous attentiveness that gives away far more emotion than he intends.
- Facial Features: Fine-boned and delicate in structure with a youthful softness that has made him easy to mistake for younger than he is. A faint dusting of freckles sits across his cheeks and nose.
- Build: Slender and narrow-shouldered with little obvious physical strength. Solon carries himself with a restrained, almost careful posture that speaks to refinement rather than athleticism.
- Clothing: Since exile his wardrobe has become a mismatched blend of donated practical wear, oversized coats, scarves, and simple layered garments. Even in rough clothing there remains an unmistakable hint of someone once accustomed to finery.
INVENTORY
Sketchbook, graphite stylus, personal journal, threadbare satchel, a small bundle of salvaged keepsakes from Coruscant, emergency identification package under the dormant alias Freia Kaella.
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Solon Rey is a young man suspended uneasily between two lives: the sheltered grace of Core aristocracy and the humiliating instability of refugee survival.
At his center Solon is gentle, deeply emotional, and profoundly nonviolent. He dislikes loudness, aggression, and cruelty in all forms, preferring calm conversation, quiet observation, and environments where beauty can still be appreciated. He is naturally empathetic and often notices discomfort in others before recognizing his own.
He was raised among gardens, galleries, music halls, private tutors, and the effortless conveniences of old money. As a result, Solon possesses impeccable manners, refined speech, and a cultivated eye for elegance. He appreciates subtle artistry, architecture, rare flora, and old literature with almost devotional sincerity.
Yet that same upbringing left him painfully underprepared for hardship.
He has had to learn, often awkwardly and too late, that food lines, government processing, suspicion, rough language, and physical insecurity are normal realities for much of the galaxy. The loss of privilege did not make him bitter so much as quietly ashamed of how little he once understood.
The Residue of Freia
Though he no longer actively lives beneath the female alias of Freia Kaella, the psychological habits remain.
Solon minimizes himself when frightened.
He softens his voice when uncertain.
He instinctively tries to appear harmless, forgettable, and accommodating whenever tension rises.
Years of learning that invisibility equaled safety have left him cautious in crowds, hesitant around authority, and perpetually aware that one wrong question could still send his life collapsing again.
Core Beliefs
- Beauty is not frivolous; it is one of the few things that makes survival feel meaningful.
- Kindness should be repaid, even if one has little to offer in return.
- Violence is sometimes necessary, but should never become comfortable.
- Identity can be hidden for survival, but never indefinitely without cost.
STRENGTHS
- Observant Reader of People: Solon notices expressions, tone changes, discomfort, and social undercurrents with remarkable accuracy.
- Educated and Cultured: Exceptionally well-read with broad academic tutoring in galactic history, politics, literature, etiquette, and fine arts.
- Empathetic Presence: His gentle demeanor and lack of threat make others more willing to lower their guard around him.
- Adaptive Social Camouflage: Years of maintaining a hidden identity have made him adept at shrinking into the background, lying under pressure, and adjusting his demeanor to avoid notice.
- Artistic Talent: Sketching, journaling, music composition, and decorative design remain his primary emotional outlets.
WEAKNESSES
- Physically Frail: Solon has little combat ability, low endurance, and almost no experience with prolonged physical labor.
- Conflict Avoidant: He hesitates under confrontation and often yields ground simply to stop escalation.
- Sheltered Instincts: There are still practical realities of survival, crime, and poverty that he understands intellectually more than instinctively.
- Anxiety and Hypervigilance: Sudden scrutiny, uniforms, checkpoints, and official questioning can quickly destabilize him.
- Dependency on Approval: Solon seeks reassurance from competent or protective figures and can become emotionally attached too quickly.
RELATIONSHIPS
The Rey Family
An old and affluent Coruscanti family long embedded in political and intellectual circles. His parents' open opposition to successive authoritarian regimes made the family increasingly vulnerable after the Imperial seizure of Coruscant.
Freia Kaella
Not merely a discarded alias, but the emergency shell identity created by his mother to spirit him away from Coruscant. Though rarely used now, the documentation remains hidden in case he must vanish again.
Iandre Athlea / Judah Dashiell / Caelus Vire
Among the first individuals to process Solon during refugee intake on Ithor under Diarchy-associated humanitarian oversight. Their competence and measured kindness became Solon's first encounter with institutional safety beyond his family.
Xian Xiao
A developing friendship that has slowly drawn Solon into ordinary social interaction again. Xian's grounded patience often highlights how inexperienced Solon remains in navigating simple, human closeness.
HISTORY
Solon Rey was born into the insulated privilege of one of Coruscant's old-money families, raised in towers of polished stone, private conservatories, curated galleries, and gardens suspended high above the endless urban sea. He knew servants by name, learned politics from overheard dinner conversation, and was taught art, literature, and music by specialists who expected his life to remain one of cultured refinement.
Responsibility was always nearby, but never his.
His parents bore that burden for him. Vocal opponents of the Brotherhood of the Maw, the Dark Empire, and later the rising Galactic Empire, the Rey family had long existed in dangerous proximity to galactic power. Solon understood enough to know that politics mattered, but not enough to imagine that such things could one day strip his life apart.
When Coruscant fell fully beneath Imperial control, his family's name became less an inheritance than a liability.
Contingencies were activated quickly.
His mother unveiled a carefully prepared emergency identity: Freia Kaella, a younger refugee girl with forged records, altered transit permissions, and no meaningful ties to the Rey family. Solon's naturally delicate appearance, soft speech, and non-threatening demeanor made the disguise effective with unnerving ease. Hidden beneath that false life, he was extracted from the Core and pushed into the anonymous masses of the displaced.
He did not leave as a hero.
He left as protected cargo.
The transition was brutal not because he lacked food or shelter immediately, but because for the first time in his life every certainty was stripped away. Bureaucracy, suspicion, waiting lines, rough company, rationed belongings, and the humiliating necessity of accepting charity became his new education.
His eventual intake on Ithor under Diarchy refugee assistance marked the true beginning of Solon Rey's independent life. There, standing among strangers and reciting a borrowed name, he was forced to do something he had never done before: admit he needed help.
From Ithor onward he entered supervised resettlement, temporary placements, and gradual reintegration into wider galactic life. As immediate scrutiny lessened, Solon slowly allowed his birth identity to reemerge. He ceased using Freia Kaella as his daily face, though the alias remains carefully preserved should flight ever become necessary again.
Now eighteen, Solon exists in uneasy reconstruction.
Too refined for the roughness he has inherited.
Too displaced to return to the softness he once knew.
No longer hidden, but not yet secure.
He is not seeking glory, war, or revolution.
He is trying, perhaps for the first time in his life, to learn how to become a person when the scaffolding of privilege has fallen away.
