Description: A series of self-installed software upgrades for a protocol droid designed to supplement its TranLang III communications module and other linguistic and cultural modules which were already pre-built into the HRD’s core programming. One of the modules required installation by a technician which MR-X97 has already done (see dev thread)
The upgrades are as followed:

Strengths
- Similar to a polygraph, the truth scanner will allow Morgan to be able to detect when sentient beings are lying.
- The bioscan module supplements her already vast knowledge of languages and cultures. This particular software includes a Medtox detector similar to scanners found in standard issue medkits, a vapor sampler which can identify hidden explosives, toxic gasses and other chemical compounds and a Doppraymagno scanner which is uses magnetic resonance imaging to see inside a living being to detect a broken bone or cybernetic implant.
- The vison-plus scanner allows her to see in low light or poor weather conditions
- The circuit scanner module allows Morgan to scan for vulnerabilities in droids.
- The management circuity subsystem will allow Morgan’s circuits to pick up unusual or hostile activity within her programming and trigger a verbal warning from the droid to alert colleagues of the unwanted presense.
- Since these modules are in effect, software there is little external hardware needed unlike a physical scan device.
Weaknesses
- Most if not all of the scanner technology is rudimentary and open for purchasing on the open market or across the galaxy in a device-like form
- A person with memory loss will not be affected by a truth scan and like a polygraph, it’s subject to inconsistent results and false positives or negatives.
- If a being has lost its memory the truth scanner won’t work.
- The circuit scanner module doesn’t repair the droid – it only scans for weaknesses in the droid like power line anomalies.
- The Vision-plus scanner is extremely simple. A sentient could get the same effect by cybernetics, glasses or eye surgery.
- The Management Circuitry Subsystem does not prevent slicers from hacking into Morgan’s software, nor does it offer protection from Ion or EMP weapons. All it does is allow the droid herself to alert companions or colleagues when she is being sliced into.
- When Morgan uses the truth scan, circuit scan and vision scan, her eyes give off a slight blue glow like the one on the picture. It happens fast and only for a second, but if someone is paying very close attention they will see it.
- None of the scanner modules actually protect the droid from being physically hurt. They only help her be more aware of her surroundings and possible dangers that an unsupervised droid could encounter.
History:
After receiving her manumission from her Maker, Lanax Grayson, Morgan Redeaux wanted to install some simple software upgrades in order to help preserve her semi-independent status as a droid. Ultimately Morgan is trying to protect herself from being called back into complete servitude again or being memory wiped. However, she is content to be employed by humans and is not a droid abolitionist.
But despite the fact that the HRD is quite obident to her whoever employs her, she worries about slicers, hackers and other nefarious types who wish to manipulate her programming and use her in an unintended way. The software upgrades were purchased from the holonet from a Coruscant company called Flash Bang Technologies which provides self-installed software for high-functioning droids or even amateur droid technicians to use in any of their droid classes. The upgrades are not compatable with all droids, but Morgan Redeaux is a sophisticated, custom-designed droid and was not mass produced. The upgrades are all software modules based on actual scanner devices available on the open market.
