Erich sat up against the back wall of a dark and musty prison cell, his arms reached out against the wall with chains binding him into place. Every time he tried to move the metal clinked slightly and he realized it was to no avail. He had been stripped of his armor and his mask and given rags. He had been captured, and taken to this hole. In truth he actually had no idea where he was, they had knocked him unconscious while transporting him. If he had to guess however, he would have said the Citadel that loomed over the main part of the city, that seemed the most likely place to take a prisoner.

The Garhoon looked up for a second as a person passed by. A guard with a relaxed stance walked by his cell, and then for a few seconds watched Erich. The Garhoon looked at the man, staring intently. He could see the mans veins, his heartbeat, everything that made him function. Erich saw it all, and it made him...hungry.

He had been here for almost two weeks now, held within this cell and chained to the wall. Oh they tried to feed him, giving him bread, vegetables, and once even meat. Of course it wasn't what Erich craved, it wasn't what he needed. He needed to feed on them, the guards, the prisoners, anything alive would do. The Garhoon was beginning to lose control, he was growing hungry. He had to escape soon, had to kill, had to eat. Erich was starving, it was like a billion needles stuck into his skin at all times, it was torture in its greatest form.

He wouldn't die either, a lack of sustenance wouldn't kill him. It would only bring more and more pain. The Garhoon scowled at the guard, his curved teeth showing. The man recoiled, and then left Erich's sight. Every single urge within his body told him he needed to kill, that he needed to escape.

Quietly he began to pull at the chains, hoping to bend or break them. He needed to escape, and soon.

It was dark and she watched as figures walked past her quickly. She couldn’t tell where she was or how she really got there. As they dragged her in just her ripped padawan tunic, she watched the faces of the other prisoners, she had a small bruise over her left eye where they beat her and she felt rather shitty about everything. She was scared, her heart raced and she wondered if she should have stayed at the temple like the Masters advised her. No, she had to be adventurous it was the only way she was going to truly learn about the galaxy.

Look where it got her though.

They stopped in front of a cell, the guards spoke quietly. One laughed manically as he reached down and grabbed her chin. He examined her face as a thumb pressed into the bruise on her cheek. The Jedi showed no pain, she just stared back at him defiantly. Another mocking laugh as he threw her down by her face.

“Pity she’s a Jedi, I wouldn’t mind breaking her…oh well we’ll let this one do it.”

The cell door opened and she was thrown in. She landed on her knees and stayed there for a moment. The ground was colder in here and every nerve was on edge. She sensed danger and that she wasn’t alone in here. Taking a deep breath, she watched as it condensed into a cloud as she exhaled. It was cold and dark – but she wasn’t by herself. Her hazel eyes took a minute to adjust, the footsteps of the guards echoing away from her as she heard them laughing.

“Feel bad for the cleanup crew – wonder how fast it will take”

The girl sat on her bottom as she pulled her legs in, her senses spreading outward. The empath felt hunger, rage, frustration and death. This wasn’t a good situation for her, but she stood slowly and showed the pride of the Jedi in her stance. Her shoulders arched backwards as she stood up straight. Still not saying a word, she waited for whatever else was in here.

Erich sat chained against the back of the cell. He heard the door slide open, and the laugh of the guards again. The Garhoon looked up, his eyes had turned into a blood red. The White of his eyes seemed to be entirely eclipsed with red. He looked at the girl, watching her with his impeccable night vision. He saw her heart beat, her blood running through her veins.

The Garhoon pulled at his chains. They rattled loudly and budged slightly from their fittings inside the concrete. A red tinted drool began to fall from Erich's lips. When he looked at the girl he saw one thing, a meal. His fangs began to grow sharper and sharper. Not just his canines, but every single tooth inside of his mouth seemed to warp and twist itself into a more pointed version. This was what happened when he became hungry, truly starved. Erich was special among the Garhoon like that.

He had come from the purest of the pure bloodlines, distilled over millenniums. He was a rougher sort of Garhoon, one that ate his meals instead of drinking them. He watched the girl for a few more seconds, tearing at his chains.

Finally his voice escaped his dried up throat just as he pulled at his chains again, loosening the fittings slightly once again. “Sometimes, fate can be kind.”

He laughed, a strong guttural sickening laugh. Erich knew that if he ate this girl. If he consumed every last bit of her he would have the strength to get out of here, and then he would kill the guards. He laughed even harder, it was a disturbing laugh.

Her head whipped towards the sound of the chains, they echoed in the quiet cell. She felt whatever it was grow even hungrier. Her chest rose dramatically and fell with each breath, she was scared. It was an internal struggle as she clutched the rags the men made her uniform when they captured her, her heart raced faster and faster. The flesh on her scraped knees became slightly wet with small fresh open wounds. Taking a step back, she felt the cloth of her pants clinging to her skin. The pain made her shudder slightly, but the chill and the soft gasp was caused by the harsh voice.

It took her a moment to respond. She didn’t understand what the voice was talking about. How was fate kind? She was trapped here and it seemed whoever the voice belonged to was also trapped here with her. Spencer didn’t move anywhere though, she remained where she stood. If she went closer towards the direction of the voice she feared she would be welcomed by whatever was over there. At least now, she had some time to react.

The Jedi responded softly, attempting to sound strong and cover the fear she had. Despite her attempt, the racing sound of her heart would give her away.

“How can fate be kind to those in this situation? Who are you?”

Erich took in a deep wailing breath as he smelled blood in the air. He stared at the girl, seeing her almost perfectly now. The Garhoon grinned from ear to ear, his fangs showing and glinting slightly in the only light present in the cell. His eyes seemed to glow slightly with excitement and bloodlust. He was ready to kill this girl.

The Chain rattled again and this time the sound of stone moving could be heard. Metal Scrapped against rock as the fastenings became looser and looser. The Garhoon eyed the girl with his massive grin still in place. She spoke, trying to hide her fear. It was to no avail however. Erich could hear the fear, he could smell it along with the blood. He was the predator here, and she was the prey.

“I am the monster in the dark.” Erich's voice resounded throughout the cell again, this time he spoke with a laugh in his voice, he was entirely glee full.

This girl was his way out of the cell. He would be free! He would feast and kill his way through this entire citadel. He would slaughter everyone here, and then he would contact the upper echelon of Omega Pyre and tell them his job was complete. It was almost too perfect. He grew positively giddy, and then he pulled at the chains once again.

The metal scrapping against rock sounded out again, and Erich laughed his sickening laugh.

The scraping again echoed the rock and she tried to take another step back. Her back met with the metal of the cell. She looked over her shoulder and screamed slightly seeing that she was really trapped in this situation. Looking back towards the area she heard the voice come from the first time around, she waited for it again. It was a monster, but she was a Jedi! Taking a deep breath, she felt her hands clutching each other. She had the force, she felt it inside of her and it gave her a bit of strength. She was still new with it – she was no master, but she knew enough to hopefully survive.

“I’m a Jedi, leave me alone.”

She started to calm herself down. The breathing techniques she learned from the Masters helped her ease her heart rate. She couldn’t be scared in this situation no matter how much she wanted to be. Spencer was only 17, she was still young and she took a step forward to try and maybe scare the being back into its corner. Tilting her head, she felt happiness coming from the dark corner. It was out of place, but then the laugh echoed through her mind.

The sound pierced her mind and she would forever remember it – if she got out of here alive.

The realization that she was a Jedi only made Erich laugh harder and harder. He wailed with laughter, it ran throughout the halls of the prison a sickening evil sound that would shake most men to their very bones. His grin somehow widened even further and he looked at the Jedi. Her heartbeat slowed, and she seemed to relax slightly. She was bolstering herself with the force, although that would not be nearly enough.

Once again the chains moved, and finally one of the links came loose. It snapped loudly and with an enormous clang and clatter, the sound ringing out throughout the cell and the call.

Almost Instantly Erich was up from the ground jumping forward and towards the Jedi. He bounded towards the Jedi, leaping at her with his maw open and gaping aiming to bite down on her throat and tear her to bits. He was stopped however, and just as he reached an inch away from her he felt a sudden and tight jerk on his right arm. The Chain that was still attached to the wall snapped tight, and stopped Erich in his place.

The Garhoon stared at the girl in all his terrifying glory, bloody spittle salivated from Erich's mouth and with a wide grinned he looked at the girl. “I don't care if youre a Queen. Youre food.”

Spencer pressed herself as far as she could against the front of the cell. Her head turned as she could feel the stain of death on the creature that lunged at her. She screamed, still after all the training she had since she was a toddler – there was nothing that could prepare her for this. She had never seen such a creature, was it human? Was it something close to being human?

It stopped. Spencer turned her head back to look at what she was facing. The rows of teeth that lined his mouth, the way he stood towering over her made her heart race again. She was still young and didn’t have the same control over the force as most Jedi’s who would probably be in this situation. If she was a master or a knight she would have a chance, but as a Padawan her flow with the force fluxuated. That would either help her or in the end harm her chances for living.

She was smart enough not to try and force push him away. If she did, she could easily have blown him free from whatever was binding him away from her. She needed to keep him against the wall, chained and far from her. The cell that kept her locked in with the creature could probably be blown away, but turning her back on him would just give him a chance to rip her throat out.

“You’re not going to eat me so you should forget about it! I’ll kill you before you even taste a drop of my blood!”

Erich laughed even louder, at this point it was more amusement than hunger that drove him. Starvation made him insane apparently. The Garhoon stared closely at Spencer, staring at her and watching her entire body. As the girl breathed harder and in fear her entire circulatory system seemed to be outlined for the Mercenary. He did not have x-ray vision, or anything of the sort, but the smell of blood, the sight of her heart pumping, it made him all the more aware that she was above all else, food.

He tore at his chain, his own blood dripping from his now cut wrist. The chain crumpled even more slightly, stone rubbing against the metal. He grinned at her, wanting to entirely consume her. He needed to eat, he needed to kill her.

Unfortunately for the Garhoon, or perhaps fortunately the noise of tearing a chain in half and then a small girl loudly screaming brought the attention of the guards. The men who guarded this prison came running, their loud boot steps resounded down the hall, and before even a minute passed three of them stood outside of their cell.

None of them moved to act however, none of them aimed to save the girl. They were hear to watch. Erich eyed them, they all stood behind the bars. All of his attention was drawn to the guards and away from the girl. The men jeered, insulted, and yelled at the two telling Erich to kill and rape the girl. The latter part made him scowl. Through his hunger a stream of consciousness appeared. He might have been a monster, but he was no animal.

One of the guards stepped close, and Erich saw an opening. He rushed forward, and in an instant he appeared before the bars. What remained of the chain on his left arm swung forward and wrapped itself around the mans neck constricting tightly around his throat. Erich let out a glee full laugh, and then pulled the man towards the bar's

The guard struck the heavy metal cage, and with another powerful pull The Garhoon broke free of his other bond. He grabbed the guard and clawed into him tearing off the mans arm in a violent show of blood and gore. Then with a solid bite Erich consumed part of the arm, laughing all the while.

Spencer watched as the crept closer to her, he was going to kill her and she was going to fuel his body to escape. Tears built up at the ends of her eyes as she looked at him, she was too scared to even fathom up some way to rescue herself. The guards came in and started to yell and demand the monster to do things to her. Spencer’s body slide to the ground as she clenched her legs together hoping that the monster wouldn’t do what the guards wanted him to do, she didn’t know what it was about and she didn’t want to lose it this way. Her eyes shut quickly awaiting the death which was inevitable to her along with the violation of her purity.

It never came, but the emotions shifted from the hypersexual and deviant to fear. Something warm splashed against her face as she bit her lip. Her eyes opened for a moment to see red dripping from the tips of her blonde bangs. Looking up, she watched the creature rip through the guard. He was eating him, which could have been her. Standing up slightly, Spencer leaned against the corner of the cell and gathered her thoughts. The force would be able to help her out; the monster was distracted for once now.

Taking a step back, she focused the force on the door of the cell. She felt it gathering in her palms and forced it outwards causing the cell to rattle against the chaos.

As Erich bit away at the guard and consumed his arm and other body parts blood started to spray all around them from the arteries. The Garhoon seemed to laugh with glee as he ate the man, his companions however screamed in horror. They fumbled and yelled reaching for their weapons. Erich just ate away, every few seconds taking massive bites out of the guard, eating away at his clothes and flesh, not caring what he was eating, only that he was finally being fed.

After only a minute one of the guards managed to grab a pistol, before the man could fire however a massive Shockwave struck them all. The force rattled them, and tore the cell doors clean off the wall. The guards and Erich went flying, smacking hard into the opposite wall. A loud crunch of bones could be heard as the guards were injured.

Erich however was not, his body was rapidly regenerating itself, healing wounds and making his starvation disappear. In a matter of seconds Erich was healthy again, strong again. Still, he was not himself however. He was now lost in bloodlust, and the need to eat took him over completely. He ignored the girl entirely, instead beginning a feast upon the guards bodies.

He tore into them, picking them up, biting into them, tearing their arms and legs off. In just a few minutes the dark hallway became diluted with the thick scent of blood. One could almost taste the metal in the air. Throughout it all those within the citadel could hear a sickening laugh, that of Erich Lor.

Spencer moved quickly over the cage door which she had forced open. Looking over her shoulder for some reason she stopped. Taking in a huge breath she started to taste the iron that was in the blood which gushed everywhere. Her hazel eyes widened as she watched in horror the creature devouring the guards. She couldn’t help but feel happy. The guards had wanted the monster to rape her, kill her and do more horrible things to her. She had done nothing wrong. Was this the real world? Was this the world the Jedi fought to protect?

“What are you…?”

She spoke quietly as she stood there watching him, she couldn’t walk away…no she could run away. Something held her here to watch the grotesque feasting of the Garhoon. Every moment making an imprint on her mind so that she would never forget the fear that she felt here. Finally as the monster finished the guards she realized that the only living thing here was her. Gulping she wondered if he was still hungry, but it seemed he wasn’t paying her much attention now.

Turning on her heel she ran towards the door the guards had entered through. The slick floor caused her to slip and fall again towards the ground scraping her knees and hands this time.

“Shit”

Reaching up, she used the handle to help her stand in the slippery goo, but as she tried to open the door she discovered that it locked from the inside. She continued to rattle the door hoping someone would come to answer it especially after the noises they heard through the slaughter.

As Erich finished his feast of the half a dozen guards his mind slowly turned back to normal. The rush of blood and endorphins that came with him filled him with life. His skin returned to normal, his hair regained luster and color, and his eyes became a shade of deep blue. It was a change tht occurred almost instantly, and within only a few minutes Erich was exactly as he had been before he was captured. The Garhoon stood over the now dissembled and mostly eviscerated bodies. He was still cackling madly to himself.

He was whole again, strong, fast, and powerful. The Garhoon clenched his fist and smiled, his razor sharp teeth still glistening in the light. Erich was aware again, his bloodlust had mostly subsided, eating six people usually did that, plus the presence of the girl actually helped bring him back to reality, part of his more...developed personality.

The Garhoon reached down and grabbed a blaster from the floor. The weapon was entirely soaked in blood, although that hardly mattered to Erich. He grinned as he walked down the hall. His boot steps rang out loudly in the hallway, and as he stepped into the light he became a terrifying sight.

From almost head to toe Erich was covered in blood and bits of gore. Half of his mouth was entirely thick with crusted blood, and his clothing was entirely soaked. He walked up to the girl with a massive grin on his face clutching the blaster in his right hand. The Garhoon peered at the girl and then spoke. “See? Fate can be kind.”

As much as she wanted to cry, she didn’t her hands continued to rattle the door knob until his shadow peered over her. Her heart skipped a beat as she looked over her shoulder to see the bloodied figure of the Garhoon. He was still a terrifying sight even though he looked tamer. Spencer pressed her back against the door as she kept her eyes locked onto his. The terrifying desire to feed was subsiding; she felt it and became more at ease. Though because he wasn’t hungry what was stopping him from killing her and eating her for dessert.

His voice spoke to her again. He seemed to never fully answer the questions that were weighing on her mind. He spoke about fate – well it was the second time he spoke of it while she was near him. Whatever he was, Spencer needed to get away before he got hungry again. Her clothing was covered in the blood of the guards since she had fallen and was near the carnage, she wasn’t as gory as the Garhoon. Her blood mixed with those that had just been devoured and she felt the contents of her stomach lurching its way up.

“Fate it-it- can be vengeful too. It seemed though, fate was kind to you today – maybe myself also depending on what you choose to do with me now.”

She turned her face away from him unknowingly exposing her neck, it could be an ill mistake, but she didn’t worry too much. If he was going to kill her he would do it quickly just like the guards. Spencer closed her eyes and whispered a soft prayer hoping to gain some favor with the Force.

Erich laughed, not because she was amusing, nor was the situation really but he found it insanely hilarious that this girl was so ready to give up her life, so ready that she would turn and offer her neck. Of course the Garhoon didn't know that this wasn't a sign of submission, he didn't know that she wasn't offering herself to him but his ego entirely eclipsed that fact. He grinned widely and then peered at the girl.

She was so tiny, so fragile so easy to kill. Erich grinned even wider, and then leaned into her his tongue slightly dangling out of his mouth. He reached over to her and placed his hands on the door, moving his face directly next to her and speaking into her ear.

“Do you know why im like this? Why im able to kill six fully grown men in a mere matter of minutes?” Blood dripped from his open maw onto the girls body below him, he grinned, fiercely aware that he was probably terrifying the poor girl.

Spencer whimpered slightly as her eyes shut tighter. She wanted to be back at the temple and be around things that she was familiar with. The padawan hated herself for wandering off the grounds, she didn’t want to seek the knowledge without a guide anymore. Because she was too curious she ended up in this prison meant to be fed to this creature. She was supposed to provide entertainment for the guards while he ate her and did whatever else they called for him to do. Fate wasn’t kind! Fate was a horrid monster and fate was dripping blood all over her ripped tunic.

Another drop fell and soaked into her already wet clothing. She was covered in sweat and blood, some of it hers. His voice echoed in her ear and imprinted on her mind. This wasn’t how this was supposed to go. She was supposed to enjoy her time out of the temple and to discover what the Jedi fought for. Her fingers pressed into the door, hoping some way she could just push it open or discover that this was all just a wild dream that she was having. The heat of his breath and the stench of death brushed against her and she knew this was no dream.

“Why…why are you like this? What—what do you want from me?”

Her hands ran across her clothing as she tried to wipe the blood off of her. She took in deep breaths trying to calm her racing heart – her cheeks becoming bright red from how close he was. There had never been anyone closer to her than he was now.

He Chuckled, a deep guttural chuckle although it was less horrid than his laughs had been before. The Garhoon stared at the girl a grin still completely and entirely plastered on his face. He could actually still see her blood pump through her veins. Her heart speeding up from fear, adrenaline, and possibly...arousal. Erich smiled, and then finally he spoke. “From you? I Just want you to listen.”

“On my world, I am one in billions. My species through eons of evolution and growth have become what you see now. We are predators, the apex of killing. Humans, like yourself are our prey. To us you are nothing more than food.” Erich Grinned at her, and then moved slightly closer. He was now breathing on her neck, his warmth breath sliding over her skin. Most people would have been absolutely sick with fright at this point. “Why am I telling you this? So you know that when I let you live, you realize just what a gift im giving you.”

The warmth of his breath on her neck made her shudder; her body reacting differently than she probably wanted it to. The closer he got to her the more sensitive her skin became. Slowly, her lower lip slipped inward and she bit down listening to his story. She learned, he was one of a billion. The people of his planet were all the same. She wondered how they ate on the planet unless they farmed humans as if they were banthas. Her stained hands reached up and lightly grazed her neck down her chest as she pondered.

Despite her fear, she wanted to question him further. The young Jedi set forth to learn, but for a moment she melted against the warmth of the lingering death that escaped his lips. He was covered in it and the fact he stated her was leaving her to live, she became at ease. Her heart rate continued to beat quickly though, but that was from something else.

“You’re…so close….”

Spencer caught her whispers as she stopped herself. She was scared the reason why he was so close was because he was waiting for her to put her guard down so he could rip her throat out. Her head remained turned slightly as she opened her eyes to look at him. He was a terror, but she was still alive and she cherished the gift.

“Thank you…but why did you spare me…?”

Erich thought for a second, his smile didn't go away of course, the grin seemed to be an immovable object on his face. He simply thought about things, first and foremost why he was leaving her alive. He didn't actually quite know the reason. She for sure would remember his face, most likely tell other Jedi about this, if not the entire galaxy. Garhoon were well known, but in the larger galaxy they liked to remain hidden, Erich was one of them. If he let this girl go hiding would be more difficult, but he had already given his word, and something told him that leaving her alive would be quite...beneficial.

He couldn't quite say why of course, but something just nudged at him. He shrugged slightly, more to himself than anything else. For a few more seconds the Garhoon peered at the woman, and then he leaned in even closer planting a kiss directly on her lips. It was quite long, and quite a bit of blood smeared off on her face.

After wards Erich backed up, and grinned even wider and then responded “Because I want to.”

Erich let out another laugh, and then moved with intense speed. He raised his leg, and then to the side of her kicked the heavy metal door. The metal fitting on the stone creaked, and then shattered into a thousand pieces. The Heavy dura steel door went flying, leaving a giant gaping hole in the wall.

The Garhoon chuckled, and then walked directly by the Jedi he probably just scarred forever. There were still guards to kill in this citadel, and for that matter a Queen that had to die as well.

Spencer didn’t feel well about the silence had fallen upon them. He seemed to be thinking about something, probably wanting to revoke the fact that he was going to let her live. The way he made everything sound especially how powerful he was, she feared everything about him. It was then he caught her off guard when he pressed his lips against hers. Quickly her eyes shut and she could taste the blood from his lips. It took her a moment, but she returned the kiss confused on why she was enjoying it despite the taste of the gore.

He broke it and she turned her face away not wiping the blood from her face. The door fell from behind her and she shut her eyes tighter as she heard the door slam. As he walked by her, she touched her lips and stared at the blood for a minute. Then she realized he was done with her for the moment. His actions kind of irked her. How dare he just walk by her?

“You never told me your name! Hey! Don’t leave me!”

Spencer stepped over the door and quickly followed the cackling Garhoon.
