Smarter than the average smuggler

Lon walked through the streets of Nar Shadaa. The smells of alcahol and smoke filled the durasteel roads of the moon orbiting Nal Hutta. The past few weeks of Lons life where riddled with smuggling jobs, and he finally had the amount of money that he needed. It all started a few weeks past when Lon realized the money he could pull in, just by owning a bigger ship and a crew, the ship had been takin care of, Lon had just bought the Meridian Rider, a beautiful transport frigate. Though Lon was proud of his new ship, he still needed a crew. Already Lon had hired a general staff of around 50 engineers, but he needed a pilot, a ship with the main purpose of smuggling needed an exellent pilot. The first place Lon thought to look was a Tavern in the slums of the city. Lon walked in the tavern and sat down at a booth, waiting for the right person to walk through the door.

Mira, finally finished with her shift, wrapped her coat around her, and started off down the road. As usual, she headed to the tavern that she always did when her shift was done.
Most spies would probably disagree with her sultry methods, but Mira was not most spies; she had acquired the skills from a life of servitude as a Hutt's slave, and had, in that time, learnt more about the Hutt than even he did. "The closer you are to a target, the more you know," had been Mira's realization.
She stepped through the tavern door and sat at the bar, as she usually did. This night, however, a man sat in the corner booth.
No one ever sat in the corner booth.

Lon bought some sort of berry wine and drank it in silence. Looking up occasionally to see if anyone had fit the bill he was looking for. Finally after a few minutes a woman walked through the door; she noticed lon quickly, which got him nervous. Tis woman could be a pilot willing to help him, but she also could be a republic officer, or worse, a republic spy. With no way of knowing how the situation would turn out, Lon became scared; he had gotten so far, and for what? To havehis ship taken from the republic? The Meridian was his pride and joy, a symbol of what he had accomplished! The situation was too tricky, he had to get out now. Finishing his drink Lon got out of his seat and walked into a back door of the shop.

That didn't bode well.

A Newcomer to the tavern, and now he exits the back? Mira became slightly paranoid. She grabbed her small blaster from inside her coat and followed him into the back. She suspected it might have been a trap, so she made sure to keep a slow pace and a level head.
She ended up in a back room, where a kitchen and its staff bustled around. She saw the man heading to a back door out into the alley. She walked briskly after him.

Lon kept walking with long strides, making sure his unknown guest followed him. It took great effort to make his trail noticeable, taking lefts and rights to keep himself out of direct sight. His trail ended at his Hammer-Head class vessel, the Meridian Rider. Taking one step into his ship filled him with joy, despite the fact of his pursuer. Captain Lon, it had a ring to it that he loved to hear. It wasn't a pride of wealth, or accomplishment, it was a pride of becoming a smuggler that had achieved more than the average criminal. Lon would have more than enough time to bask in his new toy later, now he had a pilot to find, and a chaser to deal with.

Mira followed the trail, noting how easy it was to do so. She suspected a trap, but then, she always suspected a trap. Carefully, she followed the man to his ship. She watched him enter.

Now he had the upperhand on her, and she still didn't know his intentions. She made a bold move; "Stop," she said, raising her hands. "I just wanted to talk!" Using the sleight of hand she had acquired while working as a Spy, she loosened her coat, revealing a little of her skimpy outfit beneath. That should get his attention.

Onyx was with with Lon, who was helping hum smuggle some goods off Korriban. They had stopped for Lon to find a better paying job. Onyx didn't leave though. He had known Lon and knew he wouldn't mind if he stayed with him. Lon had hurried onto the ship and it made Onyx slightly nervous. "What's wrong?" He then heard a female yelling. "Sounds like someone got into some trouble," Onyx said with a sinister grin.

Lons eyes where drawn to the woman, putting him into a trance. Shaking off his affliction he put aside the womans apearance and shouted back to her "about what?" Lon had his intentions set; this woman might not be a hazard, but if she was, he would have to restrain her and drop her off somewhere. Lon would never dream of killing a woman, it went against a moral code he kept.

Mira smirked. The smuggler probably didn't notice it, but he blushed visibly upon sight of her. "What were you doing in the tavern? You were acting suspicious."

Lon noticed Onyx, but only ignored what he had to say for now. "Im looking for a pilot, snd what might you be doing here?" He yelled back for her to hear. Turning towards Onyx Lon spoke "its not what you think" he protested. A nemodian came from a hallway to the right to tell him that the ships engines where primed and ready for flight. If this woman couldnt help him, Lon would have no choice but to leave the planet, he could just as easily fly the ship on his own, and find a pilot somewhere else.

The woman could be telling the truth. "Onyx, is she telling the truth?" Lon questioned, Onyx's connection with the force gave him the ability to get in peoples heads, which came useful in certain situations. "Say you are telling the truth, and if you would become the pilot of the Meridian Rider, would you be committed?" Lon needed to know if who he was working with would be loyal.

Onyx keened in on her mind. She was easy to read but there was something... Something was there. Onyx wasn't sure what it was but what he did know was she wasn't lying. "She is telling the truth. I don't trust her though. She seems... dangerous." Onyx knew something was wrong but ignored it. "You can have her though. I am the one who usually gets the ladies, time you started to as well." Onyx said with a laugh and a smirk.

Lon gave Onyx a dirty look, while proceeding with the conversation. "Welcome abourd co-captain, by the way, would you mind sharing with me your name?" Lons buisiness was done. Once his new pilot boarded the frigate they could take off into space, looking for their next job.

"Mira," she said, heading over to the ship as the entry ramp lowered. "Mira Keen. And if ever you're looking for a good time instead of just a pilot, well, I'm your girl."

Lon shot an eye towards the woman he had just hired. It was a win-win situation, either way, business needed to be done. "Onyx, Mira, meet me on the bridge, we will discuss the plan of action there" Lon proclaimed as he walked away with a Muun worker, discussing something or other.

Onyx got up and walked over to Mira when Lon was out of sight. "Listen sweet cheeks I know you are a spy. I can tell a pro when I see one. All I want to know is who you work for." Onyx was clearly blocking her path and had a hand on his saber as a extra backup.

She eyed Onyx. "That's a tough question. I will say that I know the most classified secrets of both the Republic...and the Empire." She sat down on one of the chairs in her new ship. "Boy, I wish I had the smarts to grab some pants before I came her," she said, crossing her legs.

Onyx chuckled. "You can't trick me honey. I am a sith. I can see through lies and deception. Hell, I am lies and deception. So if I get just a little bit suspicious it's your head." Onyx turned to join Lon in the front but stopped. He breathed a heavy sigh. He turned back her way. "What do you know about the emperor of the sith?"
