Intent: Smart grenade to deal with heavy argets
Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/37132-this-work-location-has-gone-30-days-without-incident-asa/ Fought through a research station to find prototype micro detonators.
Manufacturer: InnoteQ
Model: Smart Sunspot grenades/mines (anti materiel)
Affiliation: ACA
Modularity: No
Production: Mass produced
Material: Electronic Chip, Baradum, Thermite
Description: This is a variation of the Smart grenades/mines for this launcher: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/35356-b230-smart-grenademine-launcher/
After Raziel found several micro thermal detonators, that had been discovered at a Geonosian research centre and then re-developed at a CIS facility, he returned several to InnoteQ for reverse engineering into the B320 smart launcher. They have the standard behaviors of the normal grenades/mines for this model and other variants in production. Each grenade is a scaled down thermal detonator and similar to: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Thermal_Detonator_Launcher .

The Baradium core is triggered into a small fusion reaction. In these models the thermite actually plays a much greater part. As the explosion goes off, a sphere with a one metre radius is typically heated to around 2000 Kelvin (assuming room temperature and typical 1g atmospheric mix). The explosion creates a lot of excess heat and light and is accompanied with a loud popping sound, followed by crackling as the thermite reaction goes off. They produce a lot of excess light. Whilst anything outside this radius is safe from the initial baradium reaction, molten metal is spread over a wider area and can cause significant damage to exposed flesh.

The weapon is designed to cause significant damage to materiel. Tanks, droids, walkers and artillery pieces are susceptible to being melted if caught within the core of the explosion. Whilst certain metals, such as Beskar, can take a phenomenal amount of thermal energy, this does not preclude the material from being heated up and more vulnerable components/organic material suffering considerable secondary damage.

The grenades are a touch less reliable than most Smart grenades. Sometimes they are triggered before/after the expected distance be several metres, whilst the other variants always detonate within a cm of intended position.
