Intent: Improved bacta patch that disperses bacta more efficiently and timed release to reduce waste of unused bacta. Patch would require less active ingredient and provide a second skin to healing wounds so the patient can get back to activity as soon as possible. This will increase productivity and decrease downtime.

Development Thread: If necessary

Manufacturer: GenTech Link: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/102894-gentech/

Name: Skin Patch A101, Nicknames: A Patch, Skin Patch, Bacta Patch, Improved Bacta Patch

Type of Consumable:Wound care, Wound bandage

Legal Status: Legal

Affiliation: GenTech, Closed Market

Modularity: No

Homeworld (optional): Pii 5

Ingredients: Skin patch A101 is made of medical grade sterile material that bonds well with synth skin. It is a layered product. Top is medical grade bandage wound care type material, high grade Bacta in thin gel consistency. The third layer which would be wound side down is a soft very permeable synth skin. GenTech genetically developed a inferior skin material that allows liquid through slowly. It allows a release of bacta in a three to four hour period. After which a new patch will be necessary to be reapplied if the wound needs it. Medical grade adhesive is along the edges.

Production: Mass-Produced

Strengths:

1. In optimal conditions, wound will receive direct application of bacta slowly over a three to four hour period giving the wound a consistent supply of bacta to work with. Recovery can increase 25 to 40 percent over regular bacta patch.

2. Recipient can return to work as the patch acts as a bandage and second skin protecting the wound shortly after treatment.

Weaknesses:

1. Patch is subject to the same damage the same as human skin. Wound and area surrounding it must be clean to get a full adhesion of the product.

2. Effectiveness in unsanitary conditions are exponentially decreased as is time release delivery. It works best with the Improved Antisepsis spray. Effectiveness rating relies on that spray.

3. Medical grade Adhesive does not play very well with sweat.

Method of Consumption: External use only to epidermis applications

Average Life: Time release can last three to four hours or until damaged

Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose: Those allergic to Bacta should not use this product. Increase wound recovery.

Description: The synth skin that allows for the time released was at first an accident. After some testing of this failed product its use became apparent as it allowed liquid to gel through slowly. After some tinkering with the genetics, GenTech acquired a synth skin that acted as a timed release barrier for liquids, gels, bacta, kolcta, etc. This was developed into a wound patch as an Improved Bacta Patch. Skin Patch A101 is available in various sizes and bendable applications.
