Sith in Bad Faith

Amilthi had returned from Ossus with very ambivalent feelings. The whole operation of infiltrating the Sith library had become rather bigger than she had expected, more overt, violent, and destructive. Perhaps it was selfish of her to be relieved that she had got through it without shedding any blood. There was a risk that the Sith might think they had been more than a handful of anonymous Jedi without structure or supporters, and their eye might fall on others who did not deserve it. The possibility now worried her and marred her satisfaction over achieving her own objective. But callous as it might appear, what was done was done, and there was no point in having regrets about the past even as one kept it in mind as a lesson.

She was sitting alone in a dimply lit meditation chamber. On the floor before her was the pyramidal object she had abstracted from Ossus: a Sith holocron. These things were supposed to be unpleasant to be around. Amilthi had not felt much of that on Ossus itself, but that must have been due to the unusual mental state she had put herself in. Now she felt much warmer, mellower, and the darkness within her was deeply locked away. And yet this item did not have a disquieting presence. It was odd.

She overcame her hesitation and stretched out her hand. She extended her attention and moved her finger ever so slightly, very gently tapping the object through the Force. It sprang to life, and Amilthi instinctively withdrew her hand.

Many hours later, Amilthi lay on the floor on her back laughing madly. She didn't even know why she found the existence of this holocron quite so funny, and the absurdity of her laughter, added to the absurdity of the artefact, only served to fuel it further. After a while, she picked herself up, picked up the holocron also, and left the chamber smiling to herself in giddy anticipation of what she was going to do.

"I have a present for you, Adron." Amilthi was smiling widely and produced from behind her back, keeping the other hand there, an extraordinary object, a pyramidal Sith holocron presented on her flat palm as if on a tray for him to take.

There were few Sith in the galaxy who were known to exist in harmony with Jedi. Well, perhaps harmony was not quite the correct word, however the Jedi [member="Amilthi Camlenn"] had interested the Dark Lord time and time again. She was young, beautiful, wise, and most importantly she was sturdy in her beliefs. Perhaps it was because Darth Malphas had only ever seen the resolve of a Jedi fail when put to the test, but there was something innately true about this particular Jedi. Whether that would lead to something he could use or not, only time would tell. He moved through the halls of his Dreadnaught. There were a number of Commando droids following behind him, their armor seemingly damaged by a number of blaster rounds. Malphas' hand held a piece of cloth, which he ran down the metallic blade in his hand, clearing the blood that had caked onto it.

"Send a notice to the Vicelord. The uprising on Malastare has been handled." He said, his voice calling back to the droid behind him. The droid closest to him nodded it's head, "Roger Roger." Before it split down a separate hall, disappearing into the inner workings of The Veil.

He made his way to his private Study, where he found his Jedi companion lying in wait. The Sith Lord's blade let out a soft song as it came back into it's scabbard. He looked up to her curiously before using the cloth in his hands to wipe his face free of a streak of blood. "Amilthi...." He said in greeting, keeping his eyes fastened on the woman. Her cheerful mood was offsetting. Not that she could not be happy....just to be happy to see him was something a bit out of the ordinary. When the woman said she had a present for him the man couldn't help but scoff. "A gift? The last person who told me that tried to kill me."

Before entertaining Amilthi, he held his arms up, allowing the Commando Droids following him to pull his armored chest piece from him. The bodyglove underneath hugged his body, yet left him covered in front of the woman. "Now, what is this?" He said, approaching the woman with an arched brow. His eyes immediately quirked when he realized what the woman had in his hand, but still he did not take it. "Amilthi, where did you get this?" He asked her, recognizing the device for what it was. One of his hands fell behind his back, while the other reached forward to pluck the small device from her hands. "Curious." He said, his eyes gazing out at the device while he pushed into with the Force.

"This... is exactly what it looks to be. A holocron, and not one that I, or anyone like me, created." Having delivered the object, Amilthi's hand joined her other behind her back again. Her statement was not entirely obvious, because while the holocron looked exactly like any other Sith holocron, it did not perceptibly project the usual aura pertaining to such things. There was definitely something unusual about it. It was, if not calming, at least calm.

"If you must know, it was collecting dust on Ossus. I don't believe its previous keepers knew to appreciate it. However, you... might", she said with an enigmatic smile. "Far be it from me to be so prurient as to watch you while you explore it. But do explore it. If only for Alessandra's and Aries' sake." Amilthi's reference to Adron's wife and child, and at that one so familiar, using their names rather than their relation to him, was certainly unusual.
