Palamir.
Eastern Sea.

The queen looked upon the newest creation of her people with a smile on her plump, pink lips that spoke of nothing less than the most purest of prides. Merope was standing on a balcony on one of the towers of the new space-port as her bicolored eyes scanned through everything around her. The landing platforms, the hangar bays, the main structures: where everything entering or leaving Palamir would be supervised. Not only was it just as she and her dear sister had imagined, it also met all of her expectations as regarded the aesthetic of the carefully constructed edifices. The silk of her light, purple-colored dress danced against her body as the ocean breeze sped by, caressing her form.

Merope had seen the whole growing process if this station from its very first outlines and technical drawings to this, the almost finished version of it. She had only known two space-ports in her twenty five years of life, and yet she was sure there was none more majestic and exquisitely designed than Alseid Station. It was simply glorious. Merope couldn't help but also feel proud at the engineering marvel they had created. Alseid's structure had been placed in the middle of the Eastern Sea, fairly away from the land and right above an abyssopelagic zone with the greatest hydrothermal vent at its bottom. This abbysal zone allowed the Seiarenei to guard the oceanic surroundings of the spaceport with ease, giving them the upper hand should anything try to infiltrate their beloved seas and the hydrothermal vent, further down than even the Seiarenei can swim, was connected to the colossal power generators of the station, as well as the tidal energy generators floating around the surface.

Next to Alseid, also floating in its own enormous platform, another set of building and hangars had been constructed. This were the structures that had yet to be finished, sometime during the current week and would become the new home to the company that had been working behind the creation of the spaceport...and the new ships that would depart from it. Volmar Corporation was to be officially founded during the same ceremony in which Alseid would be inaugurated. They were so close to achieving this goal.

Merope turned to a group of Zeltrons that had been patiently and eagerly waiting for her attention. They were the heads above the working hands that had constructed this magnificent beauty. And this earned them a truthful, brilliant smile from their Queen. "Wonderful job, dear ones. This has exceeded every single one of my expectations. I personally congratulate you, all of you." Her voice, velvety and sultry and the sweet kindness in her tone was all that was needed for the Zeltrons to be blinded by happiness. And that made her happy. They'd never be above her kind, the most perfect creatures in the whole galaxy, but they were hard working, loyal and true and she found great enjoyment in seeing them rejoice by just a few words from her mouth.

Accompanying her was a group of trusted hand-maidens, slaves of her kind, the ones that had not been chosen by the Dark Tide. Merope treated them with fairness and kindness, they professed for her the same kind of admiration the Zeltrons did. She had learnt to do this from her mother, much to the dismay of the old crones on the Unlit Council. Not that she cared much, the Queens were her sister and her, and it was only her sister's opinion the one than mattered and the only one that actually meant something to Merope. She shifted her eyes to one of her handmaidens, Achlys, and addressed her. "Where is my beautiful sister? I wish to share this joyful day with her."

Aselgis yawned as she left her bed, woken up by one of her many handmaidens, who lost no time in informing her of the upcoming date of the inauguration of Alseid Station. In fact, she had been awoken far earlier than her sister Merope for the very simple reason that her servants knew that she required a long time to prepare: she could feel countless hours before a mirror, and this morning, it took her all fibers of her being not to admire herself "just ten more minutes", which often led to two more hours of silent contemplation. When she considered her hair was done in a way that fit her, she swam out of the palace, going upwards and toward the mainland's river: there, she gathered the rest of her handmaidens, along with Kastor (who didn't seem to mind having to be carried by his loving wife Helena to the ceremony). They arrived a few minutes later than Merope, changing from tails to legs, the turquoise-haired queen sighing as the change completed.

"I despise these", she told Helena as another servant gave her a dress that fit the color of her hair and eyes, with silvery details giving it a more regal look. Although she could appreciate the craftsmanship of the dress and how elegant it felt, she still pressed the simple formula of her pair of seashells: it was borderline nudity, but she enjoyed the attention it gave her. It took her several minutes to get the hang of walking again, but once she did, she reached up to join her sister, greeting the people on the way: the Zeltrons were full of admiration, and a hint of jealousy at Kastor for having the privilege to be allowed to follow her on official errands, although his position as preacher made them unable to do anything about it.
"A most wonderful job indeed", voiced the queen as she arrived onto the balcony, flashing the scientists a bright smile, although she winked at her sister. "I am so very proud of you."
