Simply Mine

"The Jedi have endured."

"But nowhere near as much as the Sith. Don't ever think to lecture me." He said evenly, though his state of mind was anything but. As one who was raised on the greatness of the Sith and the evilness of the Jedi and their Republic, one couldn't be expected to accept the weakness of the Sith so easily. Especially if one were comparing the Jedi to the Sith and for how many thousands of years the Jedi were within the light of the Galaxy whilst the Sith lurked in the shadows, time and again... enduring.

Enduring.

A rock flew past his head but he continued walking forwards as if he hadn't even noticed its existence. His danger sense alerted him and it skirted across the edge of his senses as there was a lull in sound.

There was a lift at the end of the intersection that would take them to the rest of the mine and to the largest cortosis refinery in the mine.

"Do so," he said. "You'll be of no use to me burnt."

It was a momentary lapse in concentration, cause by something akin to a pang of annoyance. For a brief moment, the Force could be felt surrounding Avedia. It was a glimpse of power, born out of malice and hatred. It passed. Avedia allowed herself to calm down, despite how angry A'sharad had just made her. It was a sacrifice of the work, she knew. But how she longed to show the Colonel the gulf that was between them. Alas, when a facade was constructed, one had to keep to the story, and so she allowed the Colonel to speak down to her like she were some mere grunt. Which, for all pretense and purposes, she was.

Stepping into the lift, Avedia waited for A'sharad to enter, close the door and take them deeper into the mine. Despite the second or two where the dark side was strong with her, now was an empty void. Something akin to what one felt in your average person, who did not hold the gift of Force-sensitivity.

And there it is.

He continued walking as if he felt nothing. Her lapse in concentration was similar to what occurred to Darth Acarus when his Son, A'sharad questioned his authority and was forced to be disciplined. The gap was something that would give someone who didn't believe themselves to be in charge would fear. And A'sharad Graush had no illusions as to his current importance to the girl, and what she wanted him for. She had already admitted it in a way earlier.

But there was another thing.

He pressed her for he skirted the edges.

Just like the person who taught her.

He danced at the edge of a sun when he was more akin to a candle compared to her. But he danced nonetheless. He was... Exceptionally good at skirting along the corners. So good, that he was certain it would one day become his undoing, like many great Sith before him. All he could yearn for was to achieve more than them.

The door of the lift opened up and he walked off and into the cortosis refinery.

Within was a spacious room, - man - made of course that was spacious. The size of a small stadium with many zuguruks within, hard at work.

"And that is the mine," he said, as oblivious as can be.

Avedia nodded. Entering the refinery, the Sith Lord turned her gaze to observe it's inner workings. Nothing came to mind for her to say at this point. She understood the workings of Cortosis, having followed the inner workings of Emeritus Industries for the past few years. Their operations on Obredaan were still fresh in her mind. She had no use for Cortosis at this time, either. She imagined that there would come a point where she needed access to the material, but that scenario was well into the future. She would remember the mine, and refinery, later on. And if her budding relations with A'sharad continued to grow, then she did not doubt that the Colonel would allow her to take some of the material for her own machinations. By that point, credits wouldn't be a problem.
