Simple and Clean [Private]

Since reconnecting with Kayda, Arisa had been hard at work trying to get her first pupil immersed in the culture of the Silver Jedi, throwing him in several group sessions with other initiates still learning the basics. Now, it was time for a much more intimate one on one session to help Kayda become more proficient in the area of telekinesis.

They were to meet in the gardens, Arisa having a preference for training outside in the open among nature. The last few training sessions she had attended with Kayda had taken place within the stuffy halls of the academy, which she didn't care much for outside the library, and the workshops for the engineering section.

Out in the clearing, there would be no fancy props found, just foliage, grass, and a pile of rocks. As an instructor, she liked to keep things simple so that points of her lessons wouldn't be lost by the distraction of theatrics.

"Before we start off, I'd like us to take some time to meditate," Arisa told Kayda as she sat down on the bed of soft manicured grass into a lotus position. "I want you to bring all your concentration into the present so that you can put everything into this training. Jedi are nothing without our focus. Not even a feather will obey your commands, then."

“ Yes.. I understand master. “

Sighing softly the boy stepped away from his master, creating some distance so he could focus. Sitting down upon the soft grass, Kayda crossed his legs. Resting his arms casually upon them, he slowly closed his eyes. Taking long breaths, Kayda soon felt his body begin to calm. Having nothing on his mind, his body fell into a current of serenity and peace.

Taking this time to reflect, Kayda soon begin to see blurred images although he was not consciously determining what he was seeing. This was simply his subconscious speaking to him, trying to reach out so that he could find enlightenment and aid from within. To find inner peace one should know themselves, and to truly do that. They must reflect on their own actions and take them for face value.

As Kayda meditated he could see that for him to self-improve, he must take time to be humble, and study in humility. Having a hard time respecting others and growing agitated with those who care for him. Only wanting attention, and having no patients. Once he realized his faulty, a strange surge flowed through the boy’s body. It felt as if he had been lifted, Kayda assumed this was the way of the Force letting him know that he was on the right track. With all of this going on, the Padawan stayed silent clouding out all outer distractions. Assuming his Master was doing the same as him currently, Kayda continued to focus on this one thought.

As Kayda meditated, Arisa was passively reading his mind to check that he was indeed working on eliminating the distractions from his mind. The veteran Jedi had much more practice in that regard, so the act was almost effortless for her.

For a while, they both sat in silence, the only sound coming from the sway of the foliage in the wind, and from the distant chatter of other people populating far from them. As she had felt Kayda finally start to relax, she would do the same, the tension beginning to melt away from her muscles, her wider concerns for the galaxy pushed to the back of her mind as she brought her full attention to the present moment with Kayda. As she demanded his complete focus for this training, she would set an example by following suit.

Once
Kayda declared that he was ready, then they could begin.

Feeling at peace, Kayda was able to truly relax. Taking short calm breathes of air, he simply allowed his mind to drift at this point with no worries burdening him. Having his Master beside him. It was almost comforting, as for Kayda the two had grown close to one another. Taking in a deep breath, the boy would open his eyes as he exhaled. Looking over to his Master who still seemed to be resting. The young boy spoke out in a soft tone, hoping not to surprise her. Though she was probably aware he stopped meditating.

“ Master.. I believe I'm ready now.. psst Master. “

He whispered in his soft voice. Leaning in towards the older woman as he did so. Kayda simply waiting for his Master to now respond to him, so that they could advance into their study for the day.

Not a peep would come from Arisa as she sat still, looking all poised and serene in her lotus position. Still as stone, she did not budge from her meditations. However, her mind was very much active in this entranced state as she continued to relax to bring out her full potential in advance of her training with Kayda.

Some minutes after
Kayda had spoken up, she would finally open her brown eyes to look back at him.

"I do believe we're ready now."

As she finally spoke, several stones would rise from the pile she had assembled earlier, then slowly orbit about them like satellites to a planet. Perfectly spaced and aligned upon the same axis as they drifted about under her precise control. The demonstration wasn't to show
off, but give her apprentice an inkling of what he could accomplish as he began to master his control over the Force.

"Take my hands," she requested with outstretched arms. While the
Atrisian possessed what some would consider model-like looks, the callouses upon her open palms spoke of a different story, that of a battle-hardened warrior.

<Open your mind to me> She continued, her mind brushing against
Kayda's as she reached out to him via telepathy. <Through me, feel what I do as I send the stones spinning around us.>

What she hoped for him to feel as they began to meld minds, was that ultimately, they were connected to the rocks as manifestations of the Force. They were at both separate and one simultaneously. As
Kayda would be able to experience this through her, perhaps it could help him improve his own telekinesis abilities as he was presented with this important truth.

Hearing his master's voice, Kayda gazed directly at her. Listening, he was assured that now the two were ready for training in telekinesis. Kayda was rather excited to learn such a skill, and his excitement would only increase as he watched his master perform something rather beautiful.

Watching as Arisa moved the rocks around them, the Padawan would try to follow one of the rocks. Moving his head to keep up with the orbiting object. His childlike actions would be put to a halt, hearing his master once again speak out. This time it being in a form of a request. Acknowledging her, Kayda would slowly place his hands down upon his master's.

Only allowing faint contact between the two, Kayda’s fingers would lay gently upon Arisa’s. Doing so, the Padawan could already feel a strange sensation pass through him. Though he couldn't describe the feeling. Kayda would then close his eyes, and wait for further instruction.

A connection was established between the pair, both physically and mentally. Through the Force, Arisa would begin to guide Kayda, using herself as a conduit to the rocks she manipulated.

<We are at once separate and one, every object and being a product of the Force. By drawing upon this common bond, we may gain complete control over ourselves, and exert influence upon our surroundings.>

She applied more power, increasing the rotation of the stones until they were like a blur around them to the naked eye.

<Can you feel that? Can you feel how I control the stones and manipulate their movement? The feedback I receive from their inertia?>

Having the bond formed between him and his master, Kayda was able to gain some insight as to what it feels like to really be one with all his surroundings. Arisa’s voice came to the boy in a strange form, it was obvious she wasn’t speaking to him verbally, and yet he could understand her clearly. Kayda heard his master’s voice speak out to him, echoing through his head.

The young Padawan attempted to reach out to his master, and so he did. Speaking back in the same manner she did, it seem the skill was picked up rather naturally.

<Master, I see now.. You don’t control the stones around us, but merely become one with the force, and allow it to tell the stones what you desire of them. Because all things share a bond with the force, you and I are able to connect on a different term, other than verbally.>

Kayda seemed to have a good grasp on the concept, but clearly he knew very little. The Padawan now shared a link with his master though, and with this he would try to understand how they could perform such an act. Kayda was a very hands on learning, not being one to get things by reading a few words. It seems his Master understood that, and took great care into teaching him properly.
