Silver Salute [Open]

Deep within the Citadel, a room bare of the trappings of comfort and life stands the blue eternal flame of the Jedi. The members of the Silver Watch have gathered to salute a fellow Watcher, keeper of the peace and warriors of the light. One of their own has achieved the honour of Master, although a quiet man, he is perpetual in purpose.

Théo stands in the circle of fellows, the hilt of his white blade Belawir in his hand. As he raises the hilt high before his own face a white flame of brilliant fire erupts from the cauldron.

Instantly his white blade ignites, blade pointed to the skies in silent salute to Master [member="Audren Sykes"], now master will leave the Watch. But not before respect is given to the man for dedication and service to the ice planet and the Jedi.

Hello everyone, just thought we could do a small thread to farewell one of our own. (btw, you don't actually have to leave the faction if you wish)

He should have figured that he would be the first to go. After all, he was the oldest of those present, and as far as he was aware had been a Knight the longest. He just hadn't expected it to be this soon. And he wasn't leaving out of a philosophical difference, or because of the cold. Though it would be nice to get away from the cold. No, he'd been promoted, or maybe re-assigned? to the position of Master. The Watch was one of the very few Jedi organizations that had no Masters enrolled. Hence he would be moving on from the organization.

Those present found themselves in a rarely-used room in the depths of the Citadel. It was berefit of creature comforts, focused solely around a stand containing blue flames. A white bar of fire leaped out of the cauldron and at the same time, Theo's lightsaber ignited. It was also pure white.

The whole thing had the feel of tradition and formality, of ritual. Tradition was important, it showed history. Formality was required by people or situations at times. Ritual...that wasn't really his thing. Yet he would tolerate it: people had a tendency to get touchy about their rituals. Heck, he'd even join in on this one. Seconds after Theo's lightsaber ignited, Audren's did as well. His wasn't shaded white but orange, yet the core, like most lightsabers, was white. Salutes were returned, after all, and Theo and his Silver Watch deserved no less.

And he thought the Sith had some strange rituals.

...granted the lack of human sacrifice made it something the whole family could enjoy. He could appreciate that much. No one wanted to take a life insurance policy out on a Sith apprentice. Unless the Lord intended to cash it in later...

Hands tucked behind his head, the Pantoran just watched the whole spectacle with a mixture of skepticism and wonder. He didn't really understand what the Jedi were doing, but he could get the gist of the whole thing. Audrey... -- Aidan? -- had become a Sith Lord... er... Jedi Lord?

What did the Jedi even call their lords anyway? Wasn't the whole deal the Holy Orders of Jedi Knights or something? So, if they were all Jedi Knights, then what was past knight? Jedi Grand High Poobah?

...honestly, he wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

As the ceremony seemed to have ended, the blue skinned boy came forward. As he did, the blue flames in the pyre suddenly surged, as though trying to leap outward at the Pantoran as he came toward the circle. The sight took the boy back a step.

Perhaps he shouldn't have come here.

Eyes downcast, the boy crossed his arms as though hugging himself. His amber gaze flickered up at the long-eared Selphi for just a moment, as he said, "Congratulations."

Then he backed away from the fire.
