Shut up and take the pain! [Hunting On Dxun]

Isabet Denko

Olaror shal ni, vod.
The ship pulled out of hyper space above the atmosphere of Dxun. Isabet sat in the co-pilot's seat, relaxing her weight against the back of the chair. The weather looked like it was going to be hell, as always. Dxun in itself was a dangerous place to be if you didn't know what you were doing. She pushed herself up from seat, clapping the pilot on the back as she walked into the passenger lounge. It hadn't been a long time since her last visit to Dxun, but to Isabet it felt like forever. She planned on utilizing her skill in stealth, recently she had been out of practice.

Mostly, she was looking forward to the rush that accompanied such a dangerous task. Despite the fact that she had done it many times before, there was always that uncertainty. But she trusted her instincts and her armour. She fixed her buy'ce to her head, clipping it into place as she spoke. "We'll be landing shortly, just a simple hunting trip. Ever been to Dxun before?" She adjusted the strap of her sniper rifle, a rather standard model. There was a sense of excitement about her, safe to say, she was looking forward to it.

Can't say that I have, but there's always the stories that drunks tell at the bars. Nolan was locking down his gear to his armor as Isabet spoke.

He had stumbled upon her and noted her skill, wishing to 'learn from the master' Nolan tagged along on this hunting trip. His Kath Hound resting on against the seat next to him and his orange and black bucket was on the table. His messy, dirty blonde hair made him look like he'd just rolled off the cot. Emerald eyes looked up at Isabet as he replied.

Looks like I'm all set, he announced as he placed his scattershot on its sling, his bolter in its holtser and fired up his forearm mounted datapad. Locking his helm in place, the HUD came to life and ran a quick diagnostic.

A thin grin curled across Isabet's lips as he replied. "This ought to be fun then. Just be careful though." The ship bumped into the solid ground as the door began to lower to reveal the planet surface to the two. Isabet rested the barrel of her gun on her shoulder as she walked out, glancing behind once to see if Nolan was following. There was a heavy humidity that hung in the air, it made her armour seem to cling to her body even more so then it already did. It was a feeling she was used to and had grown accustom to feeling. To Isabet, the humid air and blazing sun was comforting. It put her mind in the game.

"Pay attention. Eyes and ears open." She spoke into the com, her voice remained low already, almost whispering level. The heavy crunch of her boot against fallen leaves sounded out through the jungle. She walked out of the ship with an air of confidence, though her focus was entirely on the thick jungle. The large tree's that lined the planet surface provided excellent cover for anyone who wanted to be sneaky. That was the point of today. But it wouldn't just be them...

Nolan nodded and followed Isabet down the ramp, noticing her voiced dip completely, he knew this was a truly dangerous place. His HUD was struggling grasp signals of movement in the thick trees beyond. He didn't draw a weapon yet, waiting to see what his vod did.

In a whisper, So, what's the plan vod?

As the age-old saying went: "People do crazy things when they're in love."

This mantra boded true for the former cartel Enforcer known as Abel Denko. In a rather admirable effort to get to know the culture of his spouse's people, and thereby build their budding relationship, he had volunteered to come along for her hunting trip to Dxun. To this end he had donated usage of his personal vessel, the Black Widow, and had even suited up. Though he did not know a damn thing about jungle navigation or survival at large, he was going to give it his best shot. After all, he was now married to a bonafide badass; the least he could do was learn to keep up. As such, Abel guided the ship from hyperspace down to the planet's surface, then rose from his seat in order to join her in going down the ramp. Unlike the two Mandalorians within the vessel, he was garbed in something other than beskar: a suit of Templar Armor; and wore at his side Frostfall and a simple blaster pistol.

"Lead the way, cyar'ika." he breathed, descending the ramp with long, confident strides. This was the first time that Abel had so much as set foot on a world owned by the Mandalorians, and already he was leagues outside of his element. Abel was used to running around the streets of Nar Shaddaa and other sordid places...but the wilderness? Well, this would prove to be an interesting change of pace. "So," he began, loosing his blaster pistol from its holster, "what exactly are we hunting?"
