OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a “main-hub” for the ocean planet Meer.
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: The Nix, The Host, Meer, The Sea’s Aspect, The Chyth, Zweigulls
SETTING INFORMATION
  • City Name: Ufer
  • Classification: Rural Town
  • Location: Meer
  • Affiliation: The Nix
  • Population: Moderate, approx. 8,756 individual long-term inhabitants.
  • Demographics: The Nix, 56% of total population; The Chyth, 20% total population; Humans, 14% total population; Twi’leks, 8% total population; The Host, 2% total population.
  • Wealth: Medium, most income comes from fishing exports, minerals and other resources mined by The Host being exported (see Erde), as well as offering a variety of goods for consumption and “services” to those who have been without a “companions’ touch” for a long period.
  • Stability: Medium, neither a hostile nor hospitable environment for many outsiders, but in the very least you won’t get mugged or beaten up by the locals. Although bounty hunting is strictly prohibited within the village itself, and any hunters caught disturbing the peace will simply be barred from trading, purchasing, or selling anything from any of the many markets. They will also be given a “silent treatment” by the local Nix community. Some sort of religious practice it would seem.
  • Freedom & Oppression: The village has a bustling slave-trade. Primarily dealing in Chyth slaves.
  • Description: Compared to the cities of Coruscant, this village (as with most other villages and towns on the scarce landscapes of Meer) seems relatively… podunk.
POINTS OF INTEREST
The Borehole
; the only known entrance to the city of Erde deep beneath the surface of Meer, guarded by low-security turrets. (See Erde (note this is not part of the village itself but is in fact in a nearby, Host-controlled outpost on a separate, much smaller island, this will not be counted as security for the village of Ufer))
The Docks; where the vast majority of the villages’ income comes from. Be aware of the deranged zweigull rumored to bite denizens’ heads when they least expect it to. This is also rumored to be the location of the “black-market” on Meer. Whatever that means.
The Square; where the majority of happenings occur. Such as slave marketing, bazaar sales, and other smaller business dealings. This is also where the Fever Celebrations happen. (See historical information)
The Colossingum; the only official training ground for those interested in learning about, and how to use, harmonics. (Must accept to be infected with the Sea’s Aspect to take part in any training sessions)
The… “Lounge”; … (see wealth above (not recommended for roleplay you sick bastards))
The Church of the Aspect; Directly connected to the Colossingum, this place is generally for the public to display their faith in prayer or worship the disease that gives them the power of harmonics.

SECURITY
None; this village bears no arms, for it is a simple fishing village.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
One of five total land-settlements on the surface of the ocean planet Meer, this specific settlement consummates the primary hub for imports and exports from inter-galactic interests, such as the late Chiss Ascendancy (in their rare dealings), the resistance, and many miscellaneous smuggling rings. Not to mention the bustling slave-trade that deals with selling off the strong yet stoic Chyth in exchange for more valuable assets to the Nix.
Because of its location in the galaxy (the Unknown Region), the village, as with the planet of Meer as a whole, have been left mostly untouched by the events of the Clone Wars as the Galactic Empire, just like the Separatists that predated the Empire, wanted very little to do with the hazards involved with traversing the Unknown Region.
