Description:

The Shimushu-class Carrier Corvette was designed to act as a small fleet support craft as well as a point defense escort ships for the Asahian fleet. Featuring multiple point defense batteries and pair of heavy ion cannons, the ship is adequately suited to aid in the defense against enemy starfighters, bombers, and missiles while still offering a decent punch with it's few capital weapons. The ship is fast and maneuverable and operates excellently as a scouting ship alongside the Ukuru-class. The thirty two fighters separated into three squadrons allows the ship to maintain versatility in most situations it can handle.

The Shimushu is not without problems, however. The carrier is relatively fragile and very lightly armed, even among corvettes, making it highly vulnerable to attack. The layout of the capital weapons allows it to point directly fore, aft, and side to side, but from above and below the fire arcs are limited, reducing the already meager loadout to half. Also, while the hangar bay is sizable and features three different varieties of craft, the Shimushu is rather limited in mission variability once those squadrons are committed. Lastly, the ship is difficult to defend against enemy boarding actions due to the hangar bay directly linking with both the marine barracks and the bridge via two turbolifts.

The only issue at hand is the cargo space. Corvettes typically have between 1,200 and 1,600 tons of cargo capacity. I think the most a corvette has on the board is 2,000 and it was basically described as a giant hanger with engines. This number will need to come down some. Otherwise, this looks good.
