Shimmy Shimmy Coco pop! ( Nar Shaddaa )

Nar Shaddaa
The Promenade

One of the most vibrant and dangerous places in the galaxy, Nar Shaddaa is a sprawling cityscape where nothing comes without a price. Dominated by a black market that caters to every indulgence, the moon has become the ultimate symbol of corruption. The upper levels present an endless parade of glittering neon towers and floating pleasure palaces; no greater concentration of wealth exists across the galaxy. Behind these flashy facades, crime bosses and secret political emissaries make backroom deals that decide the fates of worlds.

The Promenade was a glitzy and extravagant commercial district of Nar Shaddaa. The area was run by a medley of chiefs between the Red Ravens, Arceneau, and the Exchange. It boasted casinos, boutiques, and formally -- it used to boast a massive golden statue of Karagga in the center of the Promenade square before it was stolen in broad daylight.

The district was known for being the safest and most "legitimate" on the Smuggler's Moon. Every Hutt clan, Exchange, Red Ravens, and Arceneau Trade contributed a portion of their security force to maintain its order and safety.

Maybe not the safest area for a thirteen year old, but a pit stop for fuel along with a dire curiosity to test out some new stealth skills Micah had picked up from his mother would tempt the Talith into exploring Smuggler's Moon.

After all, what's the worst that could happen?

Mandalorian on Nar Shaddaa, nothing special. Tiny Mandalorian with only a helmet, a floppy hat, a duster and civilian clothes? Certainly special, in at least that he wasn't some muscle bound brute of a man. Instead, the hat-covered helmet tilted this way and that, drinking in the Promenade in all its splendor. Why he was here was of no consequence. He could be, and thus he would be.

Being confined to Junction meant he was eager to just experience.

Which also meant having to deal with a lot of unfamiliar aliens. "Sorry, could you run that by me again." He couldn't get used to his modulated voice. Never would, likely. "Oh, Arceneau Trade.... what's that?"

The look he got said 'you should know who that is.'

If only they could see his blank stare.

Awkward silence ensues as guard and boy stare each other down. One was well maintained, professional and here to maintain the safety. The other was mangy, battered and curious. Perfect combination there.

Nar Shadda was the best place to go when delivering bounties. Especially the live ones. That was why I was here. I had just cashed in yet another nice little sum from bringing in a twi'lek smuggler who got on the wrong side of one of the Hutts that ruled this hustling bustling place. Nice as it was I always found it a little too noisy. I preferred my downtime back on Naboo where I could relax. Made it all the more worth it when out on a mission and all you hear is the sound of explosions, guns blazing and Force only knew whatever else. *Sigh* I loved my work sometimes.
Nut one downside was having to spend some of my reward money on fuel. Chasing the little prick had spent up a lot of fuel and now I had to get my ship nice and reloaded with supplies for the little trip back. While I was at a refueling station I'd sent out my droid, "Benny" to deal with the groceries. And of course he gave his little whine about staying with me since he didn't want me to be harmed. And from there it was the same old song and dance of me telling him I'd be fine by myself for a few minutes while he at least got more food for the trip. He was always like a second mother to me; in that he watched over me like a momma hawk. And I thought protocol droids were just supposed to talk to things, but this one tended to talk too much.
I leaned against my ship, counting what I still had, while wondering where Benny was. What I didn't know was that the droid would have some trouble along the way back as he was carrying two large bags of everything be bought for me. For a trip that would only take a day and a half, perhaps stuffing two whole bags wasn't the best idea.

The trick about keeping underwraps and out of sight was to blend in. Not stick out. Force or no, you can be the best at weaving whatever kind of trick to keep yourself hidden, but if you can't even blend in to the environment and walk the walk and talk the talk, well it made things difficult.

His mother had often told him of stories during her tenure as an investigator that some of the Jedi just...smelled like Jedi. Going undercover was fine and dandy, but sometimes a bit of the Order would linger. Being the one more apt to pick up on his mother's Lorrdian ways, Micah had picked up a few tricks in the form of mimicking body language and voice modification.

For his little excursion into the wild side of the 'verse, he chose neutral clothing that could easily blend him into the shadows. Muted grays and dark greens were his usual garb anyways, and with the hood of his jacket pulled up, even the bright citrine of his eyes were cast in shadows.

But this was an observation game.

Mum always said if you are going to try to cloak, best start out in a dark area so you are not freaking people out by suddenly disappearing.

Or do just the opposite in a super crowded location where chaos and confusion are your best buddies. Thankfully, the docking port from the Promanade was fairly crowded, but he didn't want to push his luck yet. He was barely getting the grasp of using the Force to hide his presence. It was a form of illusion, and from what his mom said, there were other ways to hide oneself -- she just wasn't going to teach him all in one go.

So, one shadowy little corner coming right up!

"So, wait. Let me get this straight."

There was an exasperated sigh from the guard who was getting very tired of dealing with the tourist-y questions. "Arceneau Trade is a Outer Rim spanning corporation that deals primarily in the movement of goods - doesn't really matter which goods, just that there's money in it. It is also known for humanitarian efforts and the acquisition of rare and luxurious materials? Now, see. That makes sense to me."

He pulled out a datapad and a small holo-representation of Danger came up. "This does not."

Now see, normally that would have drawn another sigh, but instead the guard just looked surprise. "Like, how much has this image been altered? This can't be healthy for her back. Does she wear a brace? Cause if not in like, thirty years she's seriously going to hate her genetics." The guard seemed to sigh, closing his eyes because he now realized he was being karked with.

"Can't say she seems real tah me." He gave a whistle. "But woo Manda if she were."

They both laughed.

Everyone wanted Danger.

Yarva was seventeen though, and was just playing a game. He wasn't all that interested. What he was interested in was seeing who would be monitoring the tourist to scam later. Thank the stars for a 360 degree hud.

By the time Benny returned he called out to me "Ma'am. I've just returned with the essentials." Really hurrying to try and please me.
"Did you get everything?" I asked, giving him a skeptical look while still leaning against my ship.
"Everything we could need. Food and drink to last the entire trip."
I peeked into both bags before commenting "More like the next five or six trips."
"Always helps to be prepared, as they say, ma'am."
I did a double-take of what was or wasn't inside the bags before asking "Did you get Bantha Bars? The kind I like?" Given Benny's reaction or checking the bag himself, not seeing them like I had, that was answer enough. I wasn't angry at him, just annoyed because he always forgot it. Instead I started walking off while saying "I'll be back."
"But ma'am, don't you think we have enough already?" he called to me.
I turned and started walking backwards as I said "A good trip isn't so without some decent Bantha Bars, Benny. If you had a stomach you'd understand. Just wait here. I'll get them."
By the time I turned, however, I made an idiot mistake and wound up bumping into someone. A young man who, I had not realized, was talking with someone while holding some hologram of a girl. By the tie I realized it the thing had dropped, me trying to apologize to him while picking it up. I usually wasn't this clumsy, but then again I didn't eat much and my mind was so set to get so bantha bars I hadn't realized.
I picked it up while dusting it off, saying "Sorry. So, so sorry. I didn't mean to do that." I took a moment to look at the holo of the very attractive girl, nodding and saying "Lovely girl. Your girlfriend?" He may have been young but he was a handsome enough, green-skinned boy, so it would make sense.

Rather unfortunately for the boy with green hands, Danger wasn't his girlfriend. The full figured woman was old enough to be his mother, and as he was knocked into he wound up almost falling over. A hand rose to hold his floppy hat on his head, T-visor of his helmet finding himself looking at a middle aged woman with white hair. "No." He says with some annoyance. "Not my girlfriend."

The guard was laughing.

Both at the idea of the two being in a relationship and the fact the boy almost ate it on the ground. "Just havin' a talk with tha guard n' whatnot." Grumbling quietly, the boy straightened the hat situated atop his Mandalorian style helmet and rolled his shoulders before taking back his holo.

"Walkin' backwards can git ya in trouble."

It is ten percent luck.
Twenty percent skill.

Using the Force was a matter of concentration as it was practice. His mum had a little diddy, one that he used to focus. The surge, ebb and flow of a cloaking mask was to ensure it remained constant throughout.

Fifteen percent concentrated power of will.

There were several different types of cloaking, and in this specific one, it was a manipulation of the mind, a weave of illusion.

Five percent pleasure. Fifty percent pain.

Some species were able to be tricked with the mind. Not so much others. With the promenade being as crowded as it was, this made for a perfect opportunity to use the chaos to his favor. Sure enough, the small commotion off to this right up ahead was the perfect test bed.

It was a female and a male; well from this distance at least. He was reading body language and as much as anyone may try to say otherwise, women walked differently from men. It was all in the hips. Not that he was keen on mulling about the appreciation of hips; well... not quite yet.

Hidden in the Force, Micah would walk a little bit closer, actively maintaining the illusion. Baby steps, really. A small group at a time.

Now what was it that they were talking about?...

"Oh. Apologies." she said when [member="Yarva Adisu"] had confirmed that the girl was not, in fact, his girlfriend. "I didn't mean to assume." After that she heard him mention how walking backwards would lead to trouble, though she smiled and said "Perhaps that's the sort of thing I look for."
While he was younger Chase didn't mind. In the past she'd swayed younger men than him. It was all part of her nature, always seeking a thrill wherever possible. A good chance he'd say no, but she didn't care. As long as she knew she still had it for a woman at 44 years. Enough one could ask for.
[member="Micah Talith"]
(Sorry, shorter than usual :/)

The boy blinked behind his helmet, unsure why someone would go looking for trouble. Specifically that involved walking backwards. But now that he wasn't being bumped into he could see how much taller than he she was, and she seemed quite thin for her height. Her age was evident too, but age was an inevitability.

But as he momentarily scanned her his body registered 'woman' and 'interested' and processed the two of those for him. Bodies were weird. He suddenly felt very... odd. "What kind of trouble does walking backward get you into on a regular basis?" He asks, entirely unsure how to process words right now.

Well now THAT was interesting.

Bodies have this strange way of revealing more than what words could say. It is all in posture, an incline of a head, the arch of a brow, the line of sight of the eyes.

Now, he might be young, but he wasn't that young to not recognize interest and the comical dawning realization from the taller fellow. Considering how his parents were in a constant sweetheart high, and the rather short talk and shrug conversation about where he and his sisters really come from -- he was so glad he didn't get Kail's version -- it was pretty evident that things were going down an interesting direction.

None the less, he was very interested to see what would happen. Observation and practice were always good; besides...This was looking to be educational one way or another.

He would continue to manipulate the illusion of cloak on one or two individuals as he drew closer. He could read lips... but that wasn't going to help in this instance.

Body language was one thing, but he was really curious at what they were saying. A thought came to his mind to as his mother to train him how to work on enhancing his hearing.

That would really come in handy now.
