Description: An attachment for blaster rifles. Set in the form of two square panels with one on either side of the rifle. The panels have their own energy cells, but still need to tap into the power cell of the rifle for full operation. When deployed, the panels fan out and turn on. Generating a small front facing shield five foot high and wide. It gives the user more of a defensive option, but it drains the power from the cell as well. Decreasing the amount of times the user can fire the weapon before needing to reload with a new energy cell. And quite obviously it makes the weapon heavier. About ten pounds heavier.

Actually, yeah. To a good extent. I just didn't know those kinds of shields already existed. Thanks for the link.

@D' Orrin - I'm dubious about the value of attaching the shield directly to the gun, but there are riot shields which mate directly to guns. As long as you recognize that this will have serious implications, I have no real problem with this. Just convert your measurements to metric and describe the shape of the shield.
