  • Heavy Shielding: As the Shieldbreaker is derived from the Holepunch, It’s armor and shielding is impressive, rivaling most ships twice it’s size,

  • Weaker systems: To compensate for the excess shielding, the Targeting and communication systems were stripped down to the basics.
  • Smaller Area: The excess shielding space also leads to less room to carry troops, leading to a smaller amount of space available for loading troops in and out.
  • No Hyperdrive: Because it is designed as a dropship, the Shieldbreaker has no hyperdrive and is completely reliant on other ships to get it from planet to planet.
Description: Built to solve the ASA’s problem of a lack of an organic troop transport, the Shieldbreaker is based on Heofon’s earlier ship of the same size, the Holepunch. Basically a modified Holepunch to accommodate troops rather than supplies, the ship is resilient to incoming fire. However, to make room for excess troops and to save money, the Shieldbreaker's hyperdrive was removed, rendering it in need of a carrier to transport it to and from planets and battlegrounds. Although the more military-minded Shieldbreaker has a heavier armament than it's Open Market cousin, both ships are lightly armed compared to most vehicles their size. Because of it's origional layout, the loading and unloading of the ship happens through a ramp in the back, a feature taken directly from the Holepunch. The simple reason for this is that it was simpler to change as little as possible from the old ship. Of course, this means that the ship can act as cover for exiting troops if the pilot places the front in between the enemy and the door. Although that does lead to the pilot staring down the enemy line.

Ok I don't think a dev thread will be required. The troop compliment seems fine, and because of the traded weaknesses and relation to the already approved holepunch I have no problems with the shields.

If anything I would prefer you beef up the description a tad before I sign off if you don't mind?
