Affiliation: Personal
Modularity: A helmet may be worn in conjunction with this.
Production: Unique
Material:
Classification: Multi-Purpose
Weight: 12 KG
Quality:
  • Lightsaber: 3
  • Blaster: 8
  • Kinetic: 6
  • Slashing / Stabbing: 7
  • Projectile (Slugs): 7
Special Features:
  • Limited Saber Guard:
Duraplast has been known to be one of the key metals used in the construction of armors since the time of the Galactic Republic prior to the rise of the First Galactic Empire. While it is more famously known for its ability to brace against blasters and medium slugthrower rounds, it is one of the more capable materials in offering protection from lightsabers.

Unlike Phrik, Cortosis, or any other exotic material, however, it does not stop or even provide true resistance to a saber - it simply provides a momentary delay of the inevitable.

[*]Dinu'ul:
  • A circular personal energy field mounted to Lisette's left wrist, the Dinu'ul is a common accessory for armors utilized by Mandalorians. While the Kuhn hasn't earned her way into using Beskar'gam forged with beskar just yet, she has taken certain liberties to incorporate the more common portions of her adoptive and ancestral culture - such a this traditional shield utilized by Mandalorians for years. While this provides protection from most direct strikes, such as blaster bolts, slugs, and lightsabers, all kinetic damage, even from projectiles, transfer through the shield and out the other side, potentially injuring Lisette as a result, albeit less than being shot.

[*]Repulsor Boots:
  • Rather than utilize standard boots, effectively ensuring that she would be unable to perform the acrobatics and maneuvers that Ataru required of her, Lisette installed small repulsorlift units into the soles of each of her boots so that she could temporarily propel herself up to half a meter from the point of activation via an internal activation switch, not unlike the sorts of internal switches seen in most lightsabers of the common era. These are meant solely to help a slightly encumbered Lisette Kuhn to increase her mobility while wearing this armor, the sorts of movement seen by wearers of grav-boots is impossible here.

Strengths:
  • Compensated Maneuverability:
Due to the use of Repulsorlift boots, the armor provides some compensation for acrobatics that would be otherwise impractical and difficult for a Vahla to perform.

[*]Secondary Protection:
  • While a full-body energy shield is often considered a prized and protective piece of equipment, it removes the feeling of raw fear that drives a warrior to fight with their lives on the line. The Dinu'ul, however, strips that illusion of safety and forces its wearer to act as if that protection might not even be there. However, this shield does offer incredible, but limited in surface area, protection from a wide variety of attacks.

[*]Superficial Lightsaber Protection:
  • While not remotely comparable to actual lightsaber resistance, the use of duraplast has enabled the armor to provide protection from glancing blows and provide minimal slowing to the cutting speed of lightsabers that strike the armor. This could be the difference between life and death, but not much more.

Weaknesses:
  • Encumbersome:
Although most moderately protective armors weigh in at around ten kilos, and provide fairly even trade-offs of protection for weight, this armor weighs in at twelve and provides fairly decent protection. Whereas this might not be an incredible weight increase for most average humans, Lisette is a member of the Vahla near-human subspecies and has a cartilaginous skeleton that makes performing feats of strength difficult, putting her at somewhere below the average human female of the same weight and height classes and also making this armor likely the equivalent of a fifteen kilo armor worn by an average human in comparison.

In laymen's terms, the armor is heavy for its intended wearer, which requires the use of the repulsorlift boots. If they were to not function, or if she were to not use them, it would mean that Lisette would be grounded and one of her preferred styles of lightsaber combat, Ataru, would be impossible, greatly hindering her ability in a combat role and reducing her options to Juyo, which is greatly disadvantaged for her as she has a relatively weak frame and thus would not be able to contend with those that have superior strength.

Description:
Lisette Kuhn, daughter of a former "Voice" of the One Sith's former Dark Lord, has always been a floater. From the days of her youth as the apprentice of the Jedi Order's former Sword of the Jedi to her current occupation as a freelancer and all-around "freedom fighter" for hire. Call it mercenary work, call it terrorism, if it is for a cause she believes in, even if she, personally, does not stand to gain anything in return, she will fight the fight.

Being that she has been trained both as a marksman and as a saber duelist, an aggressive one at that, Lisette has generally worn some kind of body armor in some form or another in most of the appearances she has made in conflicts. While she was previously gifted a set of rather lightweight armor by Draco Vereen, her own ambition has led her to crafting her own. Usually a rite of passage for the youths of Mandalorians, being the daughter of the dar'manda Darth Vitium had robbed her of that opportunity.

Created from various materials, ranging from duraplast to a polyfibe armorweave, the suit was primarily meant to aid in defense from the kind of fodder commonly employed by the Sith - their fanatical gunmen and footsoldiers - while also compensating for the weight, an obstacle for a Vahla such as her, with repulsorlift boots. Much of the weight in the armor is disproportionately focused in the boots, however, and losing the capability of using the repulsorlift function would mean being forced to rely on close quarters combat with mobility that is reduced from what is ideal for her.

A secondary protective measure, a Dinu'ul, has been fixed to her left wrist in order to provide last-ditch protection in case of emergencies. An issue with this, however, is that kinetic energy still transfers through the shield, meaning it provides protection only from the physical objects that come into contact with the shield while the impact can be felt soundly on the other side. A slug, for example, might be kept from striking her directly but its force will still transfer and may cause anywhere from minor to severe bruising or even broken bones.

Note: The cape in the picture is not a part of the armor.
