Shan Storm

[member="Teresa Shan"]

It was time for her to teach her apprentice, she summoned her to training room, in her home. The place was in a cellar, to be a bit more precise her cellar below her cellar. Her tests where varied, and some required her to be in this maze. She would guide down by a slave, and then meet her in this room where they would talk first, and then the lessons would start. She wore her Phrik Light armour, as she did not need her war armour with her. This was training and not a battle, well not yet anyway. She sat on a wooden chair in a room lit up by candles, air was pumped in so their was constant flow of fresh filtered air.

The apprentice has had some training before, but what training she was unsure off. Though that was how conversation would begin, first see where she was at, then her goals, then decide how to teach her. She also liked it down here, as she had lost a few apprentices to it walls, who never found their way out.

The girl followed the slave down several flights of stairs delving deeper into her mentors home. She'd been summoned to begin her formal training. Although doubts still stood strong. Her last mentor left, probably died before she could begin training thus she relied on memory's not of her own and learning how to do things by mistakes. Really Teresa understood very little of the power she possesses. Time will tell if she will become better and learn.

"So here we are together again. You know it's rare to see the same face in such short periods of time for me. Actually most I see once and they most often end up dead." She said as the thought amused her. "I presume this time you mean actual training and not disguising it as some job for your benefit." Teresa said with a teasing voice. If the girl had to work with her mentor it was wise to learn them early on. Pushing the boundires could identify strengths and weaknesses the woman may possess. It even gave her a better understanding of the woman's personality.

She saw her enter the room, and listened to her speak. As she spoke she rose from her wooden chair. Then explained what was going to happen, and why
Yes you have proven worthy of training, and those errands where designed to see if you where worthy. You passed, so be happy about that. Everything she does was a test, she will learn that soon enough, even this room was. Now tell me what have you learned, and then I decide how to proceed with your training. She was looking for gaps in her training, as this is where she would begin, and then see how strong she was by sending her to face some one. She was also using the force passively to sense her movements, nothing other than working out all her joints where. As she had other apprentice who got uppity, and had to be put down. She then sat down again, and gestured for her to take a seat, Now tell me of your former masters, so I can see what I have to do, or undo.

Teresa grew a smirk. "That almost sounded like you doubted me." She said playing with Sabrina. She'd walk further into the room and went to lean against a wall. "Well I don't know the abilities by name, but I can generally grip things with the force to push, pull, lift thing like that. Errrm I can project my image somewhere else." As she said that she pointed to the slave who now looked exactly like Teresa in her current aperal. "And I can see things from the past, sometimes the future when I touch objects. Like my robes and lightsaber. It allowed me to relive. Moments of revans past. I've seen things people wouldn't believe. It is also how I learnt how to make my movements faster and jump higher."

She'd look around the room St different typed of equipment neatly. Each ad a place snf in some kind of order. "Also mentor not master. I refuse to submit to that word like some slave. But anyway Darth Zilti was my former mentor. She hasn't taught me anything as I presume she died not long after we met. All I've learnt is through the desire to gain power and improve so through memory's that are not my own." It was the easiest way for Teresa to put things. She was mostly self taught due to her lack of knowledge in names or the specifics.

She looked at her with slight disdain, when she said she would not call her master. She had earned the right to be called that, even Jedi call the mentors masters. She had two option accept it, or just leave her to find another. She had been useful, and she need somebody to run errands for her, and she had some skill. She decide for now she would bare this insult, but she better start giving her the respect she had earned. So you crave artifacts, then you like a holocron to learn from. She had a slave bring out one her most prized processions, a holocron of Darth Azard it was small quite intricate thing, that shaped like triangle. They had it on a velvet cushion, so not to damage it. See if you can learn from this, he was most displeased last time he was activated. I had to rip the knowledge from him, and that took some effort. So let's see how you fare with him, she grinned as she spoke, last time she left him, he was mad as hell. As she told him genocide is what lead to the One Sith defeat, and that was his actions. She stood by this rule, killing for no reason was no way for sith to behave. The slave then knelt down next to shan, and offered her the use of the holocron.

Teresa would shrug looking slightly confused. "I imagine it's like learning from a book." She'd look to the slave slave that brought out a weird shaped ornament that looked like it belonged on a shelf to gather dust. "Quite honestly I don't know how to work holocron. Also it doesn't even have to be an artifact so to speak. I could simply touch you and I'd see the places you've been see the things you've done. Although it's only ever been the past I can see." She said reluctant to touch the artifact. As the slave knelt down to offer the holocron she'd take it into her hands. The gloves prevented her from blacking out and been flooded by the ability. "So what do I do with it? I mean this is the first time I've seen one to be fair."

Still she wasn't one to learn this way. She much preferred to learn by doing. Although the force made that difficult in some ways. Even though that's what's she's been doing up till now progress has been slow. Now that she was apart of a bigger picture she didn't have time to take things slow. Asserting her own dominance had become important to stop her from been taken out.

She smiled at her apprentice, as opening it was easy. You are force sensitive, are you not. All you have to do is focus and imagine you are opening it, then you will enter and you meet, the sith lord who created it. Their you can try and persuade him to teach you, or just rip it from him like I did. She would learn by doing, this was no easy task, as on other side of that was full blown sith lord, who was very peeved with her. Oh if you meet him, don't mention me. it may make your task harder. Actually tell him you kill me, and committed genocide to prove me wrong. That might help you. She was almost laughing as she said it. Though her apprentice was about to undertake a rather big challenge, pass it and she be much stronger. She then took sip of water, and waited for apprentice to open the holocron, some had mysterious locks, but not this one, it was simple open, and then enter.

Teresa understood to a point, she made it sound simple. Although really there was only one way to find out if it was as simple. There was nothing to ever gain from backing down. She'd drop to the floor as her back slid against the wall. Her legs would cross as she held the prism in both hands. Before she shut her eyes to focus she'd look at her mentor. "I could do that but it would make it to easy. And if you only do what is easy, you will always remain weak." She sighed as she closed her eyes. "You know I chose you and accepted your offer to train me. Not some long dead sith."

She'd remain quiet for a moment as one by one the corners would rotate in a clockwise pattern. The ends would split away connected by some red energy as it floted up away from her hands. Then her mind drew black and stood in front of her was a red skinned Quarren covered in tattoos. The squid face was tall and built. It's eyes would look down on Teresa as hers stared back. It was like they we're trying to intimidated each other. Although Teresa already knew the thing stood before her was not the real thing.

She sat back and watched as her apprentice opened it, she wonder how the idiot of Quarren will take to her apprentice. She respected his power in the force, but his philosophy and ability to work out that it failed in the end, was purely idiotic. She felt committing genocide was ultimately self defeating, as it recruiting tool for the other side, as well sapping you of a work force, even if they would not fight for you. They would work as the food cost money, and everybody liked to eat. She sipped more of her water, and waited for her.

She was hopping she come out with some knowledge, after this was a little more training and a test. The training would be to show her how to see like a Miraluka, and use force vision. This would then all tie into her test. After this test should would be made a custom suit of armour, something befitting her apprentice.

The Sith lord cleared it's throat making a gross sound. "Another one. You here to steal my secrets too?" He said with a snarl as his face tentacles shifted. "Ohh you mean like my mentor but It's possible, it's possible. It all depends if you play nice squidface." She said mocking him causing the sith to snarl even more. "Besides you've nothing else to offer me and you've no real purpose other than the knowledge you posses. Maybe if you spent less time killing worlds and making yourself stronger you'd not have died so quick... It was a quick death right." His fists clenched tight as if it was ready to throw a punch. "Don't mock me child. It will be your downfall." Her hand reached out making the invisible grip reach around it's throat tight. "Don't scold me or do I have to remind you that I'm not the dead one that's a shadow of it's former self." Her grip released but it looked unphased by her demonstration.

A light twitch flickered in it's wrinkled face. The sithd hand reached for a lightsaber and light it's crimson blades. Teresa followed suit as it's first attack came. Although not quite ready she leapt back as her purple blade ignited. In a quick strike she went to stab the fake image of the long dead sith only to have it blocked. She had to immediately duck as the second blade went over her. Sweeping her blade she dragged it across to his leg only to receive a knee to her abdominal before it reached. The hit sent her back rolling to her side. Rushing to stand her blade raised up above her head to block. Her foot would come up bringing it to it's face landing a firm kick.

She'd hear a sinister laugh as a smile reached it's slimy lips. "You've got guts girl. Guts I will RIP OUT!" the sith lord sent a flurry of strikes against her each one harder than the last putting Teresa on the defensive. With a slight gap in his strikes she sent out a powerful force push knocking him back. "You know I've not got all day. Give me.. What I want... Now." She said with a firm aggressive voice. "Make me." His hand raised up letting out lightning from his fingertips. Her blade raised conducting most of the bolts but some also reflected back causing the sith lord pain. Her feet would step forward as the strength of it's lightning felt stronger.

The second it stopped she could see the lighting had wrapped around her blade. Quickly lunging forward once more her blade would cut it's hand. Even though she didn't get them from the wrists she did manage to slice several fingers off. Darth Azaed fell to the floor cradling it's hand. Her foot came up once more firmly kicking him under his chin making the sith to fall back to the floor. "In life maybe you'd have beaten me but you hold no true power any longer. As I said a shadow of your former self. Now tell me what you told my mentor." She spent the next five minutes beating the refusal out of him till he agreed. Then she spent the next while learning what it had to offer.

She watched as she learned from him, and she was quite happy, she had not died yet. The slave sat by her waiting for her to finish, and when she had the slave had been instructed to take it up stairs. She drank some more water, and then leaned back. She had very little to do, except drink water, and read a book. She currently reading, a milis and vroom book about, two people stranded after a crash on desert world. The story was quite predictable, but she did like it nonetheless.

Her eyes opened slowly as the holocron closed once again. She'd smirk at her master in such a way showed she had fun braking the shadow of a sith lord. "He was resist I'll give you that. I think I also pissed it off big time too, but I think I have what I need from that. Only problem is it isn't the same as how I've learnt things so far and well it had confused me." She pushed her self up walking her hands up the wall. "Humor me for a moment, but you've learnt from that thing yes? Would you say your proficient at the skills?" She'd ask moving closer to Sabrina as she took a glove off.

"Do me a favor? Think about the time you made lightning for the first and last time and I mean really think because your gonna have to block everything else out. I don't intend to pass out like the last time I did this." She asked gently taking hold of her mentors wrist. As she did everything Sabrina made available to Teresa she'd live it in the short moments. Her eyes rolled back into her head.

She looked at her student, as she talked and listened to what she was saying, she smiled about the bit of him being pissed off. Then she asked a question, Well she said, I did not know how to use the powers proficiently stright away, no one ever does. You require practice as with any force power, I master do one thing many times, and an Idiot does many things once. She was quite proficient now, in all her skills. Though she did want more, but not at the expense of she knew already. She asked about the first time she made lightening, it was skill did not used to often, though it was useful. I think about rubbing oxygen molecules together, that creates the power, in my mind and then it manifest itself. To strike the enemy, but very unlikely to work on your fellow force user, as most know to channel it into their lightsabers. Though not all, it best to be used to destroy droids, and non force users, as well as punishment for acolytes. Then she sipped her water, and smiled as slave girl took her holocron away. Another cam bearing her some more water, she smiled and looked at the boy. Then said Try it on him, his life was worthless anyway, so if he died who cared. As she spoke a look of horror came onto his face, as he knew he was going to be victim of something.

Teresa did her best to focus on the images that seemed ages to her but a moment to the real world. As Sabrina thought about using lighting that's where all focus was on. As the girl snapped out of it her hand would let go in time for her to hear what the woman said. Teresa's eyes would focus and she'd step back away from her mentor looking at the slave. She knew what to feel now and what the focus should be to perform in although honing those would take time. Really she didn't want to hurt the slave. She knew what it was like to suffer from the ability when she herself was a slave. Although it wasn't as bad as the pain from the tip of a saber been held close to the skin.

She used the anger if those memory's to fuel her power. A series of grating noises could just be heard from her mouth as she clenched down and raised her hand in fury. Red sparks would wrap around her finger tips that snapped and clung to the laminanium in the ends of her fingers and nails. A small pathetic bolt of lightning lashed out at the slave doing no more than a shock that hit his abdomen. It's power would feel no more than a tazer.

The man would clench and tense as it struck him although it wasn't enough for Teresa. In an attempt she tried once more as three red bolts simultaneously leaped from her fingertips striking the man. After the girls hand dropped as she looked at Sabrina. "I'll practice it." She said feeling like she failed in some capacity. The force didn't come to her as naturally as many. It was her inability to understand the fundamental concepts that slowed that had held her back.

Her apprentice tried but failed, so be it, that was the point of practicing. She then said she practice more, she smiled and then simply said Nothing comes on the first attempt, never has and never will. Now take the slave with you, and practice on him. He was never very good, and he is little clumsy. The slave that was relieved to be alive, knew she had just sentence him to death. He had no way out of it either, she then turned to slave Go to her quarters and wait outside, She waved her hand as she said it,and used a mind trick on him, this would ensure he was their. Now was time to see if she could learn something important.

Now apprentice we will move on to your final lesson for today, I need you to learn how to see with the force alone. You will already know part of this, as you can sense objects with the force. That is a basic form of it, sensing things inanimate as well as people. This is how to make a picture in your mind using the force alone, so we start by closing your eyes. Then I want you to sense everything around you, from me to my cup of water. The slave walking to your quarters, who you get to kill with lightening later. You need build that into a picture in your mind, and be like a bat. Use force as a wave and what bounce back, use that as your picture. Now try as this is a test, as you should already be part way to it. Once she proved she can do this, she was going to turn off lights, and then phase back out of the cellar, and she find her own way out. Then when she see the slave, at her quarters she will be angry, and the lighting will no doubt flow throw her, and kill him.

She knew anything in this world was trial and error. It's the error that she didn't like. They lead to complications at the worst of times. Her body had become a testament to that. She hated what had become of her. The hate that fueled her in the force to bend it to her will at the best of her own capabilities. As Sabrina began to explain the next task Teresa would listen. As she spoke the girl realised that the woman had misunderstood one of her abilities. It wasn't the object itself she could see but where it had been as long as it was attached to a force user.

It's how she'd learnt what she knew so far. Learning from Revan, although she was beginning to doubt his teachings. He may have been blood somewhere down the line but she had come across more of the family blood line. It was tainted by Jedi and those who couldn't feel the force.

Still the girl closed her eyes picturing everything in her mind then further. She could tell if she was working from memory or actually seeing them with the force. It was a difficult to tell since she had photographic memory. Teresa began to clear her mind listening to her surroundings. Letting go of anything that ties her to the world. Everything began to look different objects looked simply like a gray mist. While Sabrina radiated red. Even her own hands did. The slave flickered a pale blue and many other people in the house veried. There was no need to speak. Or at leash she didn't think so. After all she was here to train and there was no questions she wanted to ask.

The lights went down, and then out. All the doors shut, and she then just jumped up. She had phased through the ceiling, and into her library, where a glass of wine was ready for her. Her apprentice was left in the dark, in a maze, and she had to find her own way out. The slave girl could not help her, as she was helpless now. She sat in her comfy chair, and began to read a book, and timed how long it would take her apprentice to get out of her cellar. The book was nothing important, it was about ways to hold court, as she was trying to make sure she was doing this correctly. Her royal guards where at the door ready to greet her apprentice, when she got out of the maze.
