Description:
The Shadow Armor is meant to be a balance between protective, multi-purpose, uses. The Shadow armor isn’t magic or undefeatable, and it certainly doesn’t make a soldier impervious to damage; it’s meant to provide the well trained trooper with both protection and flexibility in combat, so that they can adapt to the ever changing situation of a battlefield to the best of their capability.
From the inside out, the wearer of the Shadow Armor is first encased in an armorweave bodyglove that serves both as comfortable padding and as a layer of defense in and of itself. Next follows the flex-armor vest that is meant to provide additional protection to the torso, as that is where most attacks will invariably hit. In the upper body, the flex-armor cuts off at the shoulders and reaches all the way up to the chin, thus reinforcing the armor of the neck as well, whereas in the waist area, the layer extends down to the ankles.
Last come the strategically placed duraplast plates infused with Durasteel, encasing the chest and back, shoulders, upper and lower arms, hands, thighs, calves, and feet. The helmet is also made entirely out of duraplast infused with Durasteel, and is fitted snugly above a neck guard. The Shadow armor also includes groin guards for all genders, and it should be noted that the chest protection in the variant for breasted individuals does not feature a pronounced a breastplate.
The rest of the armor features all are on top of the armor (such as the utility belt), and the extra ammo compartments can be located either on the utility belt. The standard issue vibro knife is carried in a sheath on the back of the utility belt, each set of armor includes a pauldron those with rank with have a different colored Jen'ari Empire emblem such as sergeants will have a blue emblem while officers will have a red emblem while the standard Troopers had no emblem. The utility belt also comes with a long holster for standard issued Blaster Rifles. The thermal detonator treated on the back of the utility belt.
