PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Sev is an individual that excels at almost blending in. He is simultaneously fairly unremarkable, as far as human beings go, both of average weight and perhaps a touch taller than average, if only in his mind. He makes up for this averageness by having subjected himself to limited cybernetic augmentation - ocular implants that give the sclera of his eyes an unnatural blue hue, as well as a dual dataport connection implants, one near the back of his neck, allowing connection to some computer systems, and another implant attached to the palm of his hand, allowing a "smart" weapon system network to be utilized by creating an effective reticle display for his optical implant.
He half-heartedly attempts to conceal his eye implants by wearing a pair of sunglasses whenever possible. Likewise, the dataport on the back of his neck is often concealed by a high-collared long jacket.
INVENTORY
Sev carries with him at the minimum, a stylish pair of sunglasses to hide his cybernetically enhanced eyeballs. As a corporate-affiliated law enforcement officer, he also carries a blaster pistol in a holster, along with a security police badge and corporate credentials. He wears a basic armored blast vest underneath a jacket when on duty, as well.
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Sev would describe himself as a man bound by his belief in rules and regulations. Rigid, but not inflexible, Sev is himself an extraordinarily moral and ethical man, but he was born to a corporate-controlled world where mercantilism meant an ever widening divide between the haves and the have-nots. Sev's existence has become no more than protecting the interests of the elite, while the people he truly wants to protect suffer under the thumb of that same rule of law.
Slowly growing disenchanted with his place in the world, Sev has begun to experience a sea change in terms of his personality. Impulsivity is slowly replacing his methodical outlook on life, and the changes are beginning to manifest in ways that put his corporate career in jeopardy.
STRENGTHS
Resourceful - After years of service to his homeworld, Sev has developed a number of high level contacts within the corporation's security department, and earned the favors of a few highly placed bureaucratic political figures.
Inquisitive - Sev has spent a considerable amount of his corporate law enforcement career engaging with high level task forces spanning his homeworld, from fugitive apprehension groups, to assisting in off-world black marketeering and credit laundering schemes. As such, he has a highly engaged, highly inquisitive mind, and tries to find patterns and ways to understand problems in occasionally unorthodox ways.
WEAKNESSES
Brash - Sev is slowly becoming more reckless and impulsive, as he realizes he is fighting on the wrong side of his planet's history. Desperation setting in as his world view is collapsing is only exacerbating the situation, causing him to become even more reckless.
Intellectually Arrogant - On the flip side of the coin, having spent so much time as a corporate security police officer and investigator for so long, Sev has gained a heightened sense of superiority when it comes to the rigors of the mind. He is capable of both overestimating his own capabilities, and underestimating those he is in competition with.
HISTORY
Sev Aaris was born on a small colony world run by an even smaller corporation, which barely existed as a mercantile hub connecting a few more worlds. A mediocre life in a time of space travel and tales of a greater galaxy at large, but no less comfortable and urban a life. Sev was able to attend a suitable education, which drove an insatiable intellect as a youth and continuing into adulthood. His parents were mid-level administrators, who held just enough prestige to allow Sev options that others maybe not have gotten, but Sev had by no means a free ride.
Sev parlayed these options and opportunities into a career as a rising star among the world's corporate security forces. His adulthood has been devoted to upholding the rule of law as decreed by the corporate leadership, which he has done with unflinching loyalty. Blinded by his comfortable upbringing, Sev had not taken into account the cost others paid.
As the years passed, Sev found himself further devoted to the corporate cause. Though his world was small and mostly irrelevant, there were numerous opportunities to serve as an intermediary to larger organizations by way of serving as planetary intermediary for security operations on task forces that involved an off-world component, or competing corporate entities.
He has been growing discontent, however, as his current investigation is leading him to question his orders and dedication to a corporate agency that may not have his best interests in mind.
