Prologue
Selle was born on Thyferra, the third daughter of a rather wealthy Bacta trader who'd made his fortune off the stretchers of a thousand battlefields and the wounds of a trillion soldiers. Spending her early childhood rather spoiled, in her formative years it became obvious to the young Thyferran that she did not approve of her father's business, and was not going to be joining her brother and eldest sister in continuing the family business. She became a trouble maker, at first finding herself the defacto leader of a group of rowdy children. Her father became stern with her, but he always did so in a loving and corrective way - all of that changed when she fell in with the Ashern
Being a wild child was something her father could accept - but falling in with Vratix rebels was unacceptable, treasonous even, to the family even more than the cartels. Selle cut her teeth stealing supplies from her own family's business, but she was never proficient at spycraft or thiefcraft - while she was able to evade the authorities, she was caught red-handed by her father, and disowned, given one last chance to leave the planet entirely before he would see her rot in prison. Stuck running off into an itinerant lifestyle, she ended up being taken in by a Mandalorian, of a clan long known for disciplined soldiers and skilled mercenaries, Ituld Skern.
Capitalizing on her abilities to think quickly and pick up skills, he inducted Selle into Mandalorian society, adopting her as a (older than usual) foundling and inculcating her in the culture of the Mandalorians. Finally having found something to serve that was bigger than herself, the new mandalorian took to her new culture quickly, and listened enraptured by the stories, lessons, and wisdom he had to share. She especially was invested in her adopted father's dream - to reform their culture from one of bloodlust and untempered violence to one of discipline and honor, a military culture - to ensure their continued survival in a Galaxy where Republics and Empires deploy overwhelming numbers and the Jedi and Sith are always looking for pawns for their battle.
As soon as she came of age, she began fighting alongside the Family that had adopted her, as soldiers for hire, her trained skills, natural talents, and born ability to gather and lead shining bright among them. Now, with all the pieces in place, she seeks to help realize Ituld's dream for their great culture -
