Seeking Crystals

Some time later...

Kaz sat in the Great Hall smoking his pipe. With [member="Illyana Nightshade"] safe, his job was pretty much done at this point. Unless she wanted to assemble her lightsaber on the Blue Forge, he was just waiting for Shaun to come down from his meditations. Ah! Speak of the devil.

"Ah. Hello Kaz." Jay descended from the far passage way. All wrapped up in his black cloak and looking quite chilly. "Any sign of the girl? Nightshade?"

"Bah. She'll be along. You?"

Jay smiled and held up a faint blue crystal. Inside the tiny form a wild storm was raging. It's energy was immense. However, Kaz couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at what he sensed along with it,

"Mm. That's... Not a lightsaber crystal? Is it?"

"Good eye. And yes. It's not. But, it's exactly what we came for."

"Interesting."

Kaz pulled out his pipe and looked about. Oh. It did appear someone else was approaching too. Hopefully it was Ilyana. Kaz was starting to get a little chilly in this old blue palace. Burr.

 

[Illyana Nightshade]

Illyana came into the great hall looking a bit tired. She looked up at Kaz and Jay moving over to them with a smile on her face. "I got my crystal did you Jay?" she asked glancing to him. She sat down sighing tiredly she had ran here through the tunnel it had led back o the misty room Jay had abandoned her in speaking of. "Why did you leave so suddenly you could have said we need to split up!" she scolded sounding quite annoyed.

Masaki smiled to Kaz. It hadn't been him who had summoned the shade.

"Oh, I found what I was looking for too. No worries."

He winked to [member="Illyana Nightshade"] and slipped his crystal back into his pockets. Wrapping himself up again in his black cloak.

"And it wasn't I who split us up Illyana,"

"That would be Ilum." Smirked Kaz. He knew how this stuff sorta worked. "She's a tricky devil. Always gotta have both eyes open when you go down into those caves. Never know what she's gonna do next."

He nodded to Jay and took a deep bead on his pipe. Masaki smiled. Yeah. Both eyes open.

"He means the Force likes to play illusions on the mind. It's how the challenges work. There are no dangers down there but what you bring with you."

"Indeedy."

Kaz stood up and gave himself a good stretch. Putting away his pipe and calming it's embers.

"So? Everybody good? Back to Ossus, I suppose?"

 

[Illyana Nightshade]

She sighed annoyed though she knew there was nothing to do about it now. "No way I still got a saber to craft" Illyana said with a smirk. She glanced at Kaz. "So where exactly would I do that?" she asked a little embarrassed that she had no idea. She patted the spot in her coat where her materials where. Yup still there I can't wait to craft my first lightsaber she thought eagerly looking to both [member="Jay Masaki"] and [member="Sam Kazroy"].

Ah. Time to hit the forge then. Technically, you could build a lightsaber just about anywhere. However, Jedi Forges really speed up the process. Especially if you don't have all the materials on hand or lying about. Kaz scratched his beard and looked about the doorways,

"Sure sure. We can do that. Ilum used to have a Forge down by the water caverns, I think. We can head straight there. I believe I passed a stone lift down that hallway. Should be pretty fast."

Jay shrugged and nodded,

"Well. You'll need all the parts first Kazzy man. You can't just construct a saber out of crystal and imagination. Heh."

Kaz tapped his pockets with a devious smile. Ah ha. But maybe you can! You see, he'd been scavenging while the others were wandering down in the caverns. He had plenty of parts to choose from now. All in good time.

"No need Jay. I brought all the basics with me. Even found a few old scraps just lying around the Old Temple too. As long as [member="Illyana Nightshade"] isn't picky about what materials she uses? We should have everything we need to construct a Padawan's first saber."

Kaz looked to Illyana with a smile,

"What about you missy? Did you bring any special parts or rare materials with you? I know that's all the rage with the Knights these days. Haha."

Jay could only shrug and Kazroy nodded again,

"If not? That's fine too. We can be on our way. Up to you."

 

[Illyana Nightshade]

"They aren't really rare materials just the basics" she said opening her coat and pulling her bag of materials out. "Yup I got everything I need" she grinned putting them back. "Let's go please" the young girl sounded very excited once again. She looked to Kaz and Jay waiting for one of them to show the way to the forge. She looked up the hallway trying to see the stone lift Kaz had mentioned.

The two men smiled at each other. They remembered what it was like to be Padawan. All the eagerness and anticipation. It was cute. [member="Illyana Nightshade"] was a keeper.

"Alright then. Looks like the little lady already had the goods. Clever."

Kaz turned and headed for the lifts,

"Come along then. This way."

...

They traversed the cold Temple until they entered a grand cavern underground. It sparkled and glittered with the light of a thousand crystal shards. Expanding almost endlessly into the darkness from whence the eye could not see. A long white bridge lead out across the black ocean at the bottom of the cave. Silent, quiet waters. Clear and very deep. Kazroy and Masaki lead the way and crossed the bridge with a slow step. The echo from their footfalls seemed to go out forever.

At the end of the bridge was a circular balcony. In the middle stood a Jedi Forge. A curious anvil formation made from white marble. Yet, the stone seemed to pulse with blue lighting from time to time and it's surface was as smooth as glass.

"Here we are. Okay Illyana, now just place all parts you need onto the forge. Then take a step and meditate on the Force. When the forge senses your connection with the crystal? It will align all the parts and allow you to press them all together. A very helpful assistant indeed."

He motioned for her to approach and set her materials on the anvil's surface. Jay folded his arms and nodded to Kaz. This was the fun part.

"Remember. The forge can sense the Force following through you. So it will do most of the work, if you let it. ...Now. Go ahead and assemble your lightsaber young Padawan. This moment, is for you."

 

[Illyana Nightshade]

Illyana nodded moving over to the forge. She pulled her bag of materials out and set them all out on the forge. She pulled her crystal out of her pocket placing it on the forge as well. She sat beginning to meditate on the force as instructed. For a long few minutes nothing happened but then her materials floated into the air and began to construct themselves. All the pieces connecting for the first time to form Illyana's first lightsaber. She opened her eyes and stood picking up her lightsaber. It was curved hilt lightsaber fitting perfectly in her hand. She ignited it the purple blade was beautiful to her. She swung it through the air a bit before 'sheathing' the blade and connecting it to her Jedi utility belt. She turned back to Kaz and Jay. "I'm ready whenever you guys are" she grinned widely.

And a grand lightsaber it was indeed. Jay smiled and nodded to Kaz. Oh yeah. [member="Illyana Nightshade"] was ready to take on the world.

"Then we're finished here. Kaz?"

"Yep. You heard the lady. Back to the ships."

"Nice. So? You off to Denon again Kazroy? Is Ol' Blue still fluttering her feathers."

"Bah. I think I'll swing by Dantooine this time. See if these old bones are still feeling up to a vacation. She's manage. ...You?"

"Ossus. Got a Grandmaster to catch. You know how it is."

"Mmm."

The brown Kazroy turned to Illyana as they made their retreat back to the entrance,

"Ah. And what about the new swordsman eh? I wonder what's next of Illyana Nightshade, hm?"

 

[Illyana Nightshade]

Illyana had followed them toward the entrance "I'm not sure I feel as if I need to be somewhere, but I don't know where." she paused and shrugged "For now I'll head to the temple." She smiled at Jay and Kaz. "It was wonderful to meet you both." she bowed to Kaz "I hope to meet you again one day master and you to of course Jay." she looked down at her lightsaber. Every time she used it or looked at it she would be reminded of the friends she made on Ilum. She moved toward the ship that would take her back to the temple on Ossus.

And so they said their goodbyes and boarded the vessels that would take them home. Illyana, Jay, and Kaz. Having completed another grand adventure, with ever so many more laying just ahead. May the Force be with us. Always.
