Location: Hyperspace, approaching Serenno system

There was always trouble in the Outer Rim Territories, no matter how settled and explored the region had been over the centuries. With the collapse of countless military powerhouses across the galaxy, there was more unrest than ever. Thanks to that fact, there was bound to be business for the mercenary and bounty hunter types, for most planets resources were focused on maintaining order within their own territory. Some could simply not be bothered to chase after outlaws and terrorists, leaving it up to third party intervention to get the job done.

The blue vortex of hyperspace shone brightly through the transparisteel cockpit of the XS light freighter, reflecting off the computer console that the seated Mandalorian had just booted up. Leaning back in the pilots chair, Tallor switched on the small holoprojector, which began to display filed reports on the very recent incident at Carrania. It was the capital city of Serenno, a place known to house the most wealthy and influential individuals in the galaxy. It wasn't uncommon for those types to request the services of highly trained mercenaries, but this time the reason as to why definitely was.

The man's brown eyes widened in surprise as he read over the holographic files, which seemed to describe some sort of terrorist attack at the Carannia spaceport. What was more, there had been several low tier bounties issued on the suspects, some of them for reasons irrelevant to the spaceport incident. What had caught his eye was an emergency transmission broadcast on an open channel by Carannia officials themselves, requesting that those in nearby space be on the look out for a VCX-820 escort freighter. The three suspects had been partially identified by witnesses at the scene, one Zabrak, droid and 'someone that was probably Sith', according to the records.

Having been near the Serenno system at the time the bounties were posted, Tallor didn't hesitate to plot an approach vector. However, witnessing the escalation of chaos this trio had managed to inflict during the brief travel, the Mandalorian was feeling a bit regretful. He had journeyed to these parts in hopes of finding a good deal on a new ship, but it seemed now that his familiarity with the XS light freighter would be one of his only advantages against his targets. Exiting hyperspace on the outskirts of the system, Tallor ran a gloved hand over his thinly shaved head, before facing the sensor array display which had begun monitoring the area.

He was unsure if they were still in the system, and judging by the reports they couldn't have gotten too far. The VCX-820 had even engaged with military starfighters, so it was possible that they had sustained damaged before their escape from the law. The Mandalorian had become fed up with his career, tired of capturing low-profile targets for meager credit sums. The idea of pursuing these individuals was more than enough to motivate the hunter. Tallor kept his eyes trained on the sensor display as he took the flight controls in his hands, easing the throttle to guide his freighter patiently through space.

Finally, Vaelak was free. Free of this miserable city, the city of Carrania was just a small dot behind them, and an old memory. They were alone now, in space. Unaware of the bounty on their heads. They had no direction, not a very specific one at least. After finally dealing with the police force, they now needed to dump the corpses somewhere. That somewhere was the endless space...

Dumping six bodies in a large metal crate and throwing it out of the freighter proved to be a very clean and easy way to get rid of the horrible rotten corpse smell. Now they were truly alone, not for very long though.

/ / The storage room. On board the VCX-820 freighter / /
The young sith went back and forth in the little to empty room. His mind occupied with thought about his previous life, about the family he once had. Back than, in Korriban. But it all changed, because of the jedi filth. He remembered it like it had just occurred yesterday. The smell of burning corpses. His house, the place he felt the most secure in. Its gone now. Both his family and house. All gone in one day. It almost seemed as if the sith themselves did this. But it didn't matter now, the only things left from his parents and family were his path, the sith path and code.
He walked slowly in the room, his hands behind his back. Suddenly, he started repeating the sith code, the code which he had studied and lived by his whole life. He was no apprentice. But he had the force.
"Peace is a lie...There is only passion...
Through passion...I gain strength...
Through strength...I gain power...
Through power...I gain victory..
Through victory...
My chains are broken..
The force shall free me!"
The sith repeated his ancestors words. Starting with a quiet low mumble. But as he continued, his tone became louder, and more passionate. And as he came to the last sentence, he sent his hands forward, positioning himself as he was trying to use the force. He remembered the phrases that his family talked proudly of... "Let the Force flow through... Be one with the Force, and twist it to your will.." It wasn't clear if it was just pure luck or natural talent, but seconds later, the small metal crate that was in front of Vaelak was launched to the other side of the room, hitting the wall and falling down on the ground immediately after that. The sith opened his eyes widely, looking around. He always knew he was gifted with the force, but now he has proof of it...
And thus, the crew continued its course towards the unknown, knowing nothing about who they are about to meet in their way.

The weary Dathomirian Zabrak sat on the co-pilot's seat, legs lifted ontop of the computers and back leaned backwards in easement. His gaze stared aimlessly at the dark space before him, peppered with many other dots, breathing life to the image. The ship was calm, only the sounds of occasional 'bip's flickered about... Vaelak was deep in meditation in the room across the corridor leading to the cockpit, and 2V remained silent beside Zakir, updating the latest news in his processors.

Zakir was thoughtless, he just shallowed his eyes as they still withdrawed Serreno's atmosphere, barely holding his attention at wake. They were far from noticing the approcahing entity on the scanners, a beeping dot swaying closer and closer from the left flank. They believed they were done with evading justice, and Zakir took notice of it in the corner of his eye, moment before he were to fall sleeping. His lip curled before sharpening his eyes at it, it was rapiding closer to them, and he calculated they weren't quite done with their evasion. He rose from his rest, sharpening his eyes at the scanners. It was an XS Light Freighter vessel, as they screen displayed. Zakir enabled the radial communications. It was not marked of Serreno's Forces nor resembling any of their generic vessels. He held to the button and spoke out to the comms.

"You are approching rapidly, identify yourself."

Some time had passed since Tallor's arrival in the system, and it didn't seem like there were any signs of the VCX-820. [member="Zakir Thaun"] and [member="Vaelak Za’ataris"] might have been able to stay truly alone for awhile longer, if a certain crate full of dead bodies had not been jettisoned from their ships airlock. The sudden blip on the sensors jerked the Mandalorian from his concentration, his eyes having been keenly focused outside of the transparisteel viewport of his XS light freighter. Moments later, the crate came floating by the cockpit, a Serenno shipping company logo plastered on one of its sides. Unable to believe his eyes, the man could not help but chuckle briefly at his luck, cranking the throttle as he jerked the flight controls about.

The freighter adjusted its path and blasted off towards where the crate had came from, its momentum giving the hunter an idea as to the fugitives general direction. The ship rattled lightly as it began its approach, the sensors picking up the VCX-820 after a few minutes of travel. Their stolen vessel sure was a piece of work, equipped with shielding on top of a ridiculous amount of laser turrets. Now with a visual, Tallor began to power up the rear deflector shields of his freighter, accelerating to full speed as he began his attack run. Noticing the incoming transmission, the Mandalorian opened up the channel and briefly muttered his reply.

"I'm the one who's collecting you three." With that, the freighter made its descent at top speed, releasing bursts from its laser turret along with two concussion missiles towards the VCX-820. If it his attempt was a success, the ships shields would more than likely be damaged or disabled by the high-velocity proton particles that were released upon impact. Tallor only hoped that their lack of a full crew would hinder the effectiveness of their powerful ship.

The freighter shook, alerting Vaelak and interupting his meditation. He picks up the E-11 blaster from the floor and ran to the pilot's deck. "We are under attack, we are under attack. All crew members are to defend the freighter, all crew members are to defend the freighter! We are under attack!" The protocol droid repeated himself, running in circles, waving his robotic hands in panic. Vaelak wasted no time, he ran back to his old position, and quickly manned the laser cannon. Almost immediatly after he spotted the ship that was firing at them. While aiming at it, the autoblasters were already firing at the Mandalorian's ship. Hitting the cannon on top a few times but not causing severe damage. He locked on the ship and fired. He would've hit and possibly destroy the engine of the light freighter if not for the shield it activated, blocking his laser shots.
"I think more of them are coming, we are not alone yet.." Vaelak screams through the communication device to [member="Zakir Thaun"] . "Get the droid to turn the freighter if you can, we can't afford to take a lot of hits."
He then tries to contact their attacker through the same communication device. "I do not know who you are or why are you attacking us, but i suggest you escape while you can, For once, I don't want to fight, and that's very rare for me to act like."

The ship quaked as the incoming missiles came to impact. They disabled the shield generators successfully, thrilling the stability of the ship. Zakir was bumped to the floor at the blow, exhaling against the cold floor. He was luckily not to stumble on some obstacle to damage his body, and made it up to equal at the ground, a grimace carved in his expression. The fatuous Droid ran in circles, it must had been hit severely if it reacted so to their new state. He slammed a fist to the Droid's neck, regaining his focus, "You pile of junk, enable the shields and get that damage fixed!" He called out to him, toning loudly in annoyance of the uselessness.

He did not realize the shields were malfunctioning, and he made his way quickly to the back of the ship, to the furthest double-laser cannon turret at the back end of the ship. The XS Light Freighter was likely to already drive through past them, leaving Zakir target-less on the back of the ship, monitoring his station carefully for the gone pursuer. The Droid announced in the inner-comms of the ship, "The shields are damaged-.. I can't enable it!" They were hit severely and their defences were gone. It was a lost match, they couldn't help but to stay ready in their turrets, unaware of the [member="Tallor"]'s location. Perhaps it was even above them and the two couldn't have seen it? They were overcame, outmatched, a couple of more direct hits could have disabled their entire ship and leave them wandering helplessly in this vast space.

Pulling on the flight controls, the XS light freighter curved upwards and away from the enemy craft, performing a few barrel rolls as the auto turrets of the VCX-820 opened fire. Luckily the Mandalorian had powered up the rear deflector shields before hand, knowing that those on board would retaliate given their behavior on Serenno. Going in close again would be dangerous, especially if his foes were able to utilize the full extent of their ships weaponry. The laser turret fire soared passed Tallor's ship as he piloted carefully, trying to focus as red flares of energy lit up his cockpit. The incoming fire was extremely close to hitting home, one shot even impacting with the Mandalorian's own laser turret as he began to perform a loop, swinging around for another pass. With a quick scan of the escort ship, Tallor could tell that its shields had been disabled, leaving it a lot more vulnerable than he was at the moment.

The chime of another incoming transmission caught the man's interest as he let it through, listening to the demands of [member="Vaelak Za’ataris"]. He sounded confident alright, prompting Tallor to target the cockpit of their VCX-820 as his own freighter began to slow down. "Prepare to be boarded." Deactivating the rear deflector shields, the Mandalorian diverted that power into the port side of his ship, shielding the majority of his ship to prevent the enemy from destroying him in one go while he connected airlocks. Hopefully his targets were no fools, for if they resisted he would attempt to blast their cockpit and suck them out into the vacuum of space. Standing up from the pilots seat, Tallor reached across the dashboard and grabbed his helmet, pulling it over his head as he exited into the main cabin area.

Rapid blaster runs were streaming down the vulnerable escort freighter, cutting chunks of metal from it's top, buzzing and beeping countless red flashes and lights in the cockpit. As a result of the peppered rundowns, a smaller chain reaction took place within the electronics, setting loose a smaller explosion inside [member="Vaelak Za’ataris"]'s laserpit, blasting him unconscious. Failing to get a response of reaffirmation of [member="Tallor"]'s transmission from Vaelak, Zakir panicked. His comrade was unable to respond, was he already floating in the nothingness of space? He did not bother to check, he was furious as they were defeated. He rushed out of his laser blaster pit headed for the pilot's deck, holding into the different objects scattered messily about the corridors of the tilting ship, not to be thrown away and injured at this crucial time.

The Droid did the best he could, but not enough. It was far from stabilizing the ship and reactivating the shields, leaving them defeated in the endless plain of space, widely shortening their escape opportunities. They were mere moments from being docked, and Zakir was quick to run for the cargo room in which he found the blaster shipment and shut it locked. He kept one blaster with himself, and found cover right behind the corner of the boarding tunnel, which was already prepared and locked, the door separating the two vessels was unlocked and remained free to pass through. He made ready.

The damage to the VCX-820 wasn't as bad as it could have been, for the shields would most likely recycle thanks to the service droid's efforts. If he had still been in the cockpit, Tallor might have noticed the malfunction within the escort freighter that rendered [member="Vaelak Za’ataris"] into a state of unconsciousness. Luckily for the crew the hull of the ship hadn't been breached yet, neither had the laser turret pit either. The instability they faced would soon be remedied as the XS light freighter completed the boarding procedure, locking the two ships together to create a level playing field.

Then again, Tallor felt slightly anxious as he stood in front of the airlock, stepping in as it opened and waiting for the other to depressurize. When it came to gunfights the Mandalorian knew he could perform well even when outnumbered, but this would be an enclosed area, where even a slightly off shot could potentially destroy them all. Misty air sprayed into the corridor as the VCX-820's airlock opened up, allowing the black and blue armored individual a brief moment to scan the area with his helmet's capabilities.

There were many things that he could monitor to track and target his victims, though it didn't seem like this one was keen on being found. With both of his WESTAR-35 blaster pistols in hand, Tallor began to advance cautiously, stepping through the archway and into the escort freighter's interior. He kept an eye out for the slightest changes in his immediate vicinity, for the last thing he wanted was to be caught off guard by two space pirates. Unknown to him, [member="Zakir Thaun"] was extremely close by.

Zakir remained as silent as he could, leaving the only sounds be so loud in the freighter; [member="Tallor"]'s footsteps, and the sparking malfunction of a cable, dancing relentlessly further down into the ship. He tightened the grip over the blaster as the steps of his pursuer turned more dominant. The clanking of the Mandalorian armaments easily came to attention, lofting the Zabrak's ear as some sort of reflex. It was a 'hunt or be hunted' game, first to deliver the surprise attack, or first to counter and bring down the opponent. His heart delivered rapid waves of adrenaline, and as the clanking noise became predominant, the Zabrak refused to step down and executed his so greatly thought-of move. He quickly peeked from his cover at the open 'hub' of the freighter, where he would easily notice the Mandalorian sharpening at every fuse of a cut wire go off, and now taking full note of the young Zabrak crossing his aim at him.

The struggled lighting was beaming into life in that lobby, just at the moment Zakir's finger slid to the trigger and began spamming it relentlessly in the wide direction of Tallor across this main-inner hub. It was very likely the bounty hunter was to notice him beforehand, and react accordingly. Red flashing blast-fire cut the air with a loud 'pew', inaccurately bolting to the direction of Tallor. The anticipation of the Mandalorian for such obvious assault was a great advantage in this foreseen 'trap'. Zakir was halfway exposed behind the corner, nevertheless is was enough to grant a clear line of sight, and fire was exchanged.

Once [member="Zakir Thaun"] peeked out from the entrance of the ship's main cabin, Tallor's helmet picked up the activity on its motion sensors, causing his eyes to widen in surprise as a barrage of red blaster fire was unleashed in his direction. Instead of charging his opponent, the Mandalorian burst into a sprint, diving through the air and turning it into a roll as to compact his body and minimize the chance of injury. A few of the shots had scrapped across his plated armor, heating it up at an uncomfortable degree. Rolling through another doorway which extended into another corridor, the man pressed himself against the frame, watching as the remainder of blaster bolts soared passed his position.

Had he not been able to react in time, Tallor probably would have been killed. He had caught a glimpse of his foe as well, identifying him as the Zabrak that the reports had detailed earlier. There was bound to be another entrance to the main cabin of the escort freighter, and so instead of jumping out from his cover, Tallor began to sprint, carrying himself as fast as he could with the armor weighing down on him. Moving down the corridor, the hunter cast a glance behind him just in case, curious as to whether or not the Zabrak would follow. Hopefully, [member="Vaelak Za’ataris"] had not recovered from his earlier setback.
