Second Sphere

“Simulation, interaction, artificiality, immersion”

Second Sphere is a cutting-edge virtual reality suite manufactured and programmed by Bane Innovation on Nar Shaddaa. Created mainly to have a safe, encrypted place for slicers and other tech-savvy galacticians to have meetings as well as share classified data away from prying eyes and ears of infochants, Second Sphere itself is a computer-simulated virtual world that can only be accessed through Bane Innovation’s software client, which needs to be installed on the user’s computer and registered through Bane Innovation. Once logged in, the user then can wear the Bane Innovation wireless Second Reality Visor to view and interact with the virtual world, as well as purchase the optional haptic bodysuit that allows users to feel the virtual world in a tactile way. In order to interact with the world, Second Sphere users create an avatar, a virtual representation of themselves which can take the lifelike form of anything the user desires. They also create a handle to go along with their avatar (examples, Zerohour, Voodoo, M1st)

The artificial environment itself consists of a grid on which objects and locations can be modeled by Bane Innovation programmers, and the original suite comes bundled with a few custom locations such as a neighborhood resembling a Red Light District of an underworld planet, with slicer bars, brothels, and cafes. Users in Second Sphere can interact with one another's avatars using a voice-activated speech client, or they may type in a Holochat client if more privacy is desired.

If a user would like a custom location built, the user can order an expansion to their Second Sphere suite and the Bane Innovation programmers will create a custom locations along with its objects for an additional fee.

Second Sphere’s virtual reality simulator can also be used for entertainment such as digital companionship or as a place to interrogate or imprison the user. Other than pleasure or pain that can be felt through the haptic bodysuit, the experience of Second Sphere cannot permanently harm the user. Additionally, if your avatar dies in Second Sphere you do not die in real life.
