Orion Darkstar
The Rising Star

Orion gripped tightly at the mechanical device, the splintered ground branching out in an endless attempt to remind him where he stood. A desert, the heat was the most frustrating part, sweat dripping from his forehead. The blips on the maping unit from the probes sensors phased out. Orion sneered, his emerald eyes shifting to the open land before him. The only thing in sight for miles were the twin peaks on the sothern border. He looked back down at the sensor, but nothing. It was clear to him that the only sound thing to do was continue forward, he had already come so far, it would be terrible to give up now. In truth, Orion was searching for something, something that had already found him as he stood drenched in his own juices. He sighed, the voice creeping up from the deepest pits of his mind, chained away to stay hidden until called upon. Only, Fovos Torgon was making his life more difficult by the days, not with the taunting words in his mind, but the spreading of black phenomenon that took hold of the sith's body. In recent days it had spread to his legs, causing sharp pains during random encounters when he exerted himself. Still, whatever he encountered deep in the caves of the Doshar Fields it would bring him one step closer to finding out how to deal with the demonic nuisance.
You grow weak...
Ill, tainted by my power!
The hallow words were just reminders that time wasn't on his side. He'd searched practically everywhere, but to no avail. Eventually, something would have to give, whether it was his body or the discovery of how to extract the demon. Either way, time wouldn't wait for such things as trivial as one man's troubles. He tried to ignore Fovos, but fired back anyway as he started to walk again.
I've fed you already, don't you have something better to do than harass the one thing keeping you alive?
Keeping me alive? This is a prison, all I need is the key to break free...But you already know that, don't you Orion?
You're boring me Fovos.
Once I break free I'll-
"Cezura." Orion's voice held strong, the demonic taunting abruptly cut off as it was bansished back to the foreboding walls of his mind. The prison he created to protect the infestation from spreading too quickly, the contract binding the monster to him and the very will to contain the ancient possessor was skill of its own degree. Oddly, Orion thought the two of them were one of the same, each leeching off the others power. Using one another in a game of eternal, unspoken gratitude for keeping the other alive. Others may have not understood, but extracting Fovos wouldn't be the end, he would find a permanent resolution. One where, Orion could utilize the demonic being's powers without being a detriment to his body...or life.
A loud hiss sprung out from a small bump close by, acidic steam spraying upward like a torrent of confetti. Orion was careful to stay clear of it. The acid could eat away at metal. His hilt was made of nothing but. The sun continued to beat down on him and the stretch of land left made him hopeful of his arrival. He could make out the dark background of mountains. Rocks towered over the sides of it, he smiled. In a few short minutes he would reach the base of the treacherous terrain, the only joy he would receive would be in the cool shadows of the massive giant before him.
