Tech Review Scion Series Gravity Shield System

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a gravity based shielding system
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Dovin Basal
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Scion Mobile Shipyards
  • Affiliation: Scion Mobile Shipyards
  • Market Status: Closed
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: Yes (Scalable down to fitting in Starfighters to working on even the most extremely large vessels or space stations, Can be tuned for resisting particular forms of damage depending on the vessel and the role)
  • Production: Mass Production
  • Material: Durasteel, Heavily modified Gravitic Amplitude Modulator Technology, Heavily modified Gravity Booster Technology, Heavily modified Gravity Well projector technology
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Mimics the singularity shielding created by Dovin Basals, allowing A vessel to use shielding equivalent in strength to what they would have gotten had they used standard Deflector/Ion Shields and depending on ship/power configuration
  • Recharges quickly
  • Can be tuned to resist specific forms of damage depending on the ship it's installed on and the power systems it's using
STRENGTHS
  • Event Horizon: Mimicking the protective effects of a Dovin Basal, this shielding creates micro-singularity
  • Charge up: This shielding recharges twice as fast as standard Deflectors
  • Modularity: It's resistances are dependant on the ship it's installed on, what it's circuits are tuned for, and how much power it has to work with, can be scaled down for use in starfighters or even the very largest of vessels
WEAKNESSES
  • Tractor Beams: Tractor beams make its shielding fluctuate wildly and become unreliable for about 14 minutes after exposure until it's circuitry reboot
  • Continuous Beam: This shielding has almost no ability to resist continuous Beam weapons
  • Nebulas: In Nebulas, the defense rating of any vessel equipped with this shielding drops by one
DESCRIPTION

Fascinated by Gravity Technology, The Parliament spent weeks studying various examples before creating this modular Shield System. Replacing Deflector shields with Singularity Shielding, it signals a new era of House Io war tech.

Can be tuned for resisting particular forms of damage depending on the vessel and the role

Can be tuned to resist specific forms of damage depending on the ship it's installed on and the power systems it's using

It's resistances are dependant on the ship it's installed on, what it's circuits are tuned for, and how much power it has to work with

All three instances where this is mentioned are incredibly vague and read more as a means to bypass resistance balancing by stacking tunable shielding to be immune to any damage.

There are two choices with this.
Drastically expand upon the details with actionable weaknesses to balance it out as well as a general rating for what it would give.
