- The Force is with me: Force imbued, the weapon is nigh indestructible, has a very sharp edge, and can destroy dark sided ghosts. All normal effects of the weapon type.
- Dragon Rend: Created with the specific intention to literally take down a Dragon, or other flying beasts, the weapon can concentrate a wave of destructive energy from the blade through the wielder using the power, Shockwave. This specific ability is to allow Ignis to otherwise strike air born targets from the ground. As it was built for one dragon in particular, It has the potential be very useful for forcing an otherwise dangerous creature back down to the ground for a killing blow.
- +1 Armor Breaking: Influenced through the force to be able to cut and damage the scales of an Arkanian Dragon that has been influenced by Sith Alchemy over years of time, is the leading reason for it's creation. It can also inflict more damage when the blade strikes against other beings, armors, weapons, and so forth. This allows a greater potential for this to be used against heavily armored subjects to destroy armor.
- One True Master: Created with the use of a Permafrost crystal, the weapon will feel natural in the hands of Ignis. Feeling as though the weapon is the truest form of an extension of his arm. Making it easier for him to perform actions with this sword. Should others use it, they will find the blade to become immensely heavy as though the force itself is rejecting them the use of the weapon.
- The Force is No longer with me: When inside a force nullification bubble, the weapon will lose all of the previously stated abilities, its canon effects, as well as its nigh indestructible durability.
- Conduit of the Force: Much like the chefs knife, this sword cannot emit a force shockwave on it's own. The user must channel the ability through the blade to concentrate the arc of the ability so that one could feasibly aim it into a general direction. As well, the usage of inflicting more damage of the force from the blade must also be channeled through the blade as well. The blade naturally does not have this ability and is built to be a conduit, or a catalyst for these powers to be more effective.
- Sheath? Nah: The sword does not come with a sheath, nor due to it's size does it make it easy for such a weapon to have one in the first place. It's size also prevents one from attempting to walk through Spaceport security. Difficult to hide and thus the sword must be held onto at all times.
- Wide, and slow: A sword that is long, and has quite wide of arcs to be effective at cutting or causing damage mean that the weapon can be dodged quite easily, or parried by letting the blade slide down the length of another. The weapon is also fairly heavy, and thus the weapon is not always the best to wield.
- Claustrophobic: The fear of being in enclosed spaces. The sword's size makes it difficult to fight with in halls, or even close quarters. Best to carry an off hand tool to prevent quick follow up attacks, or to have a set of armor that can deal with blows for a second to gather your wits to swing again.
- No Stealth: The weapon is imbued with the force, as well, the flames that are along the edge when held by Ignis flare to life. Thus when wielding this weapon, the sword will be bright, and have a presence within the force. Greatly limiting available options of tactical advantages.
- Gotta use two hands: The sword is just large enough that it would be a little difficult to throw around with one hand. The best idea would be to use two hands upon the grip to get more power, stability and accuracy when using the blade. While the blade can be held with one hand, or have the follow-through of a swing be concluded with a single hand, the actual swing or lifting of the weapon would be best used with both hands.
Ever have to face someone who you know has a biological weapon of mass destruction? Or the fact that the creature is then influenced with the force to be even stronger than it was already being known for? No? Step into Ignis's shoes for a moment.
Going to face his Uncle, surrogate father mind you, who is a Master Shaper of all arts, Alchemist, Bladesman, and owns a dragon that could kill you simply by putting enough pressure down with it's foot is kind of daunting. Really scary and will be an uphill battle with nothing less than a ship. But the question arises. What if you aren't in a ship? Well you have to be able to face it straight up. Sure, the flames can mostly be dealt with due to Shaping and Pyrokinesis. However, all the claws, and teeth, and tail, and wings? Well to cause any damage from Alchemized scales, you need to have a weapon that could destroy or have the potential to break through those scales.
In comes Scindo. A Claymore sword, built by imbuing it with the force, and having abilities that could directly combat a dragon the size and weight of a starfighter or even a bomber. Even then, this sword is just the tip. It may finish the final blow, but getting into range of a flying beast? You need to take it down. Cue the Force Shockwave. While the ability was just a gimmick on a chefs knife, the ability was implemented in the weapon so that Ignis could, within some reason, take down the dragon to the ground level.
Now for the scales.
You need to cause a lot of damage. Problem is, the creature is fast, powerful, and not likely to stay still. So you need to do massive damage, with as little strikes as possible, in the shortest time frame possible. Thus, inflicting and altering the damage that the creature can take through the blade, will drastically increase the ability to potentially destroy or rend through the scales of the creature, and even possibly, kill it. Once that is through, then its time to fight Nickolas. He wears fairly tough armor, and has a sword that can increase his strength in the force. The possibility to limit that by completely overwhelming the durability of the sword is a theory, and thus destroy the very weapon that could kill Ignis.
From there, it is just having to get close enough to Nick, to stab the massive blade through his heart.
That is, if all goes according to plan.
