Scenes From a Memory [Elara Wahia]

[member="Elara Wahia"]

Vond shrugged. Of course, there were other career opportunities open to him, and probably many things that he would be capable of doing, but his path had been chosen for him. And he could not dispute it, nor would he dream of doing such a thing. In such a militaristic society as the One Sith, to defend the Empire was considered one of the highest honors, second only to the Sith themselves. Vond considered himself fortunate that he had been chosen for such a position in society.

But at this moment, he was captivated by the flame-haired beauty clinging to him on the speeder. Vond turned back and gave her a reassuring grin.

"As I said," He nodded, "I don't like sharing. Nobody will touch you."

As it were, the speeder was now pulling up to the camp. The One Sith command center looked like a small city all in itself as the two approached it, walled on all sides, appearing to stretch for at least a square mile inside. Vond stopped the speeder a few yards short of one of the many entrances, manned by two guards. He turned to Elara and placed the binders around her hands again while leading her towards the entrance, all with a look that quietly told her to trust him.

"Corporal Vond Greifen, returning from patrol," He told one of the guards as he approached with Elara in tow.

"And what is the meaning of this escort, Corporal?" One of the guards pointed at Elara.

"A dissenter caught in the streets. She will be taken in for questioning," Vond replied.

The two guards exchanged glances. Their stares seemed to convey that they knew what was really going on, and that this wasn't the first time a soldier tried to bring a woman into the barracks.

"Carry on, Corporal," One of the guards waved them through. "And be quick about it, will you?"

Vond tugged Elara by her bound hands and walked her through the entrance checkpoint past the guards. She was now inside the compound and could see the rows of barracks for herself, as well as the looming headquarters building in the middle of the compound.

"See? I told you that wouldn't be hard," Vond grinned.
