DESCRIPTION

A large part of Great River's activities include rescuing and transporting wanted fugitives through hostile space. However, interdictor platforms often put a damper on operations, which had proliferated to such a degree that even the most rag tag bunch of marauders often owned at least once such device, be it an interdictor ship or gravity mines.

Jyoti came up with a quick fix to deal with the mines specifically, developing a prototype sensor EWAR combo she dubbed the Scarecrow. Ship mounted, the device works to prematurely trigger gravity mines by emitting bursts of gamma rays, Cronau radiation, and warped gravity waves (via a specialized Gravitic Amplitude Modulator), convincingly simulating the effects of a realspace object entering or exiting hyperspace. Normally, mines are difficult to detect in a dormant state, but now activated, they can be easily targeted for neutralization.

It was a simple solution to deal with one form of interdiction, but an effective one, allowing Great River to continue its work.
