Scalebound: A New Plympto Adventure

Location: New Plympto

The planet, New Plympto was delcared as a memorial planet, which made Charlie interested into why it was declared as such. The history of the planet was quite brutish and she quickly was reintroduced to Order 66 and the Vong. It seemed both had made quite a dent in the history of the galaxy. Reviewing some of her notes on the planet, she stood with her short ebony hair pulled back into a small ponytail. Her mouth moved chewing the last bits of her peanut butter bar while waiting for her Master to finish dealing with the ship and such.

The tablet found its way back onto the ship, she had her comm which would be able to access her tablet if she needed to see some information. The less she carried the better in this situation. A harness strapped the hammers to her back and she wore her typical jedi robes, which with the loose fabric she hid another sweet bread in the robes.

The pair was there to check out some complaints about poachers hunting some of the wildlife along with endangering the already sensative ecosystem. It was also a good excuse to check out some of the older structures that had survived from the Clone Wars. Charlie shoved another sweet bread into her robes as she patted herself down to make sure she had everything.

“Jyoti, are you ready yet?” The padawan was impatient, she was excited to be off Kashyyyk and onto a planet she had never seen before.

While Jyoti was still Grandmaster and had to assume all the responsibilities that role entailed, she was still committed to being Charlie's master as well. So that meant from time to time she took up small assignments as vehicles of instruction. She gave Charlie the choice of mission this time, which she would immediately regret as the Padawan chose New Plympto of all places.

From one murderous jungle planet to another, oh joy.

Despite the Echani's personal disdain for the selection, she kept a good face about it, trying to be supportive. This time around she would be operating in the background, having Charlie take the lead on solving the case while she offered advice.

Her Jedi Robes wouldn't do for an extended trek through New Plymnpto, so she had changed into something more hiker friendly before stepping out of ship, silver mane tucked under a dull green shawl.

"I'm ready," she answered softly, coming up beside the girl. "Now where to first? This is your mission."

Charlie blinked at her Master as she chuckled. It seems that the woman didn’t want to wear the pretty white robes she was known to wear. Using the bottom of her tunic, Charlie patted her face from the forming sweat droplets, she didn’t realize New Plympto was going to be so warm. It didn’t bother her much, but she was going to need to visit the refresher before they headed back to Kashyyyk.

“There’s a few things, um.” Looking around, Charlie tried to go off memory for the direction of the distressed concerns of poachers. In all her excitement she couldn’t remember exactly. So she pulled her communicator out and looked at the small files. The map of where they were standing showed in a small hologram. Pointing she explained to her Master.

“Few miles south of us, there has been some poaching of the rarer species on the planet. Illegal selling of their uh…” Charlie squinted nearly looking as if she closed her eyes. “Poop. The poachers are selling their poop.”

With a proud smile she took a moment to realize and then gave her master a disgusted look. “Why would anyone buy poop? That’s gross…” Closing the map, she looked towards the south and started to head that way.

Stolen manure? That's what this case was about?

Gross.

Needless to say, she couldn't quite find herself developing concern for the victim's losses, but it was clearly distressing someone, so it warranted investigation. Maybe.

"...It would be most useful as a fertilizer, but as to how the poachers are utilizing the manure personally, your guess is as good as mine. That's why we're here to check it out. So, what do we do when we get there? How do you want to approach this problem?"

Charlie’s face remained still as she listened to her Master’s answer to her question. In all honesty the teenager would rather pack up and head to the nearest burger place and have a bite to eat. Frowning she looked back down at the request for aid and she sighed. One of those, ‘a Jedi is here to help’ things popped into her head and she knew they needed to at least investigate.

“Well first thing we should do is head into the nearest town, set up shop and then ask the locals of what’s going on. We have a contact name here. Uh…” Charlie looked down at the name and narrowed her eyes. “Zandro Gaian.” Turning the tablet to her Master it showed a picture of a male Nosaurian.

“He’s the one that put in the bid for help.” Shrugging Charlie put the information away and she started to head down where her small map was telling them to go. As they headed down into the town that this Zandro Gaian lived, Charlie looked over at her Master and questioned. “Wasn’t some big war fought here or something?” She couldn’t put her finger on it, but maybe Jyoti could.

As the Jedi entered the small village, several Nosaurians moved about – it seems they had arrived during the daily market where farmers and others would come and sell products. Off in the distance stood Zandro Gaian, with him a large cart covered by a cloth tarp.

Jyoti followed without complaint, finding Charlie's answer satisfactory. Along the way, the padawan asked about the world being a battle site. Jyoti didn't know off the top of her head, but with her trusty augments, the answer was only a single query away on the holonet.

"The planet once host fierce campaign between Separatists and Republicans during the Galactic Civil War, then was occupied by the first Galactic Empire until its downfall. A few years later, the Nosaurian population was subject to a genocidal campaign by the Yuuzhan Vong. Nosaurians have a reputation for being a troublesome people, so this has often led to conflict on their homeworld and abroad."

She was careful to keep her voice down as she spoke, not wanting to get on the bad side of any Nosaurian that may be within earshot - there was no need to load her plate with anymore poodoo.

After a short trek, they made it to the settlement, almost entirely comprised of Nosaurians. From there she waited patiently for Charlie to lead them Gaian, who she had a tough time picking out from the crowd of reptilians who all looked so similar.

Charlie nodded along as her Master recited the history. Ever since she had made the move to the Silver Jedi, the Seoulian girl always enjoyed knowing the history of a place. Looking over her shoulder towards her Master she smiled the sweetest little smile.

“Interesting. I knew you were the right person to ask Jyoti.” a small hand covered her lips and patted them as she was in deep thought. A smile turned onto a smirk as Charlie asked.

“Where were you sent to during that, a war.”

While they talked, they walked closer to their target, who instead of waving them down, he begun to quickly close up shop.
