Before the Dark Ages the Proxy-class droid was the perfect infiltration droid, capable of utilizing highly advanced holographic technology to change itself into a perfect copy of anyone, the perfect spy, assassin, bodyguard and any other role you might need.

After the Dark Ages these sort of applications were largely ignored in favor of HRDs and clones, at least until a prominent businessman did a raid of a high-ranking Mandalorian and Sith Lord.

Using the BE-300 Kyr’ad as a baseline for the development of the Shifter, Saiba Group utilized its expertise in the Solid-state Hologram business to further enhance the design of the droid. As a consequence the Shifter is able to keep up appearances when all other holographic technology would have long failed it.

With that being said, the Shifter is not a designed to operate on battlefield or head-to-head engagement with an aware opponent. The laminanium does not allow for magical self-healing armor in the middle of an engagement, instead it's a boon for deep infiltrations for long periods of time when opportunities for repairs are not all that prevalent.

Another thread involving the procurement of Laminanium(as the writer of the original amount of laminanium is no longer active) that reaches upwards 50 to 60 quality posts. This may be done with multiple writers (of course).

Be aware that the decision for a request of a longer/shorter development thread would also be subject to the factory admin if this is requested as a submission modification meaning what I say here may be overruled by them, or if another submission upgrade is made and another factory judge takes the submission it is at their discretion what they find acceptable.
